[Users] Can oVirt be installed in a virtual machine?

Hi all, I am starting a small hosting business and want to use oVirt w/ KVM as my virtualization platform. I currently have 2 host servers and an iSCSI NAS. Do I need a dedicated machine to run oVirt? Can I run it from a VM? Can I use the all-in-one solution in a Production environment, with a 2nd host? ... would I need to install oVirt on both hosts, in the event that one of my servers went down? I am trying to see how I can survive if my oVirt server fails. It would be great if it ran from a VM but I can also see issues with doing that... Another option would be to run oVirt on my workstation and have it connect to my 2 host servers in colocation over the internet? Please let me know how you've accomplished an oVirt setup with 2 servers. Thank you! Nic

Here is what's happening : In 3.0, I was used to use one nic for transporting all my vlan network, and ovirtmgmt was part of these vlans. in 3.1/vdsm 4.10, I systematically get a ovirt engine error when attempting to drag a new vlan network to the same nic : *"Error while executing action Setup Networks: Internal oVirt Engine Error"* When looking at the host vdsm log I find this : *"Setup attached more than one network to nic em1, some of which aren't vlans"* So it tells me that the ovirtmgmt bridge is not a vlan and it can add an second vlan network to this card because of this. Why those services are not logged ? How am I supposed to debug without any = information ? Is it normal that an enabled service don't log at all ? Any help would be appreciated. Hi, I believe that issue you're experience caused by connecting to ssl secured site using http protocol [1], please change protocol to 'https' in rhevm_uri and use ssl port accordingly, [1] in this mode, server reply with empty string instead of actual data. [Users] Installing Host - action is taking longer than allowed by configuration

Hi I Installed ovirt 3.1 all in one package under centos 6.3 . but when i trying to install localhost as virtualization node (I have one server with local storage) i got a error: The required action is taking longer than allowed by configuration. I know the reason for it. i have very slow connection. I think ovirt clean yum metadata and try to get metadata again. but my internet connection is very slow (about 64Kb/s) and takes a lot of time to finish. how can i increase the allowed time by configuration or some change on postgresql database.? Thanks

[Users] some problems on ovirt node while testing latest nightly

I had to login the node with the admin login and enable my network interfaces This is a bit cumbersome as I would expect the NIC's to be enabled with dhcp so I don't have to login each machine - We have Intel Xenon E5520 Nehalem based cpu's in these local storage nodes.
