[Users] oVirt 3.1 - engine configuration problem

Hi,
I'm building oVirt engine 3.1 from source on Scientific Linux 6.3. I'm
working on branch origin/engine_3.1. During startup the application
throws following error:

It seams to be a configuration problem. I followed this manual
http://www.ovirt.org/Engine_Node_Integration (section Engine core
machine). Is this manual up to date?

[Users] oVirt 3.2: impossiible to delete a snapshot?

oVirt 3.2 with node f18 and engine another f18 and ovirt stable repo.
After I create a snapshot of a powered off win xp VM, I then select
the snapshot and select "delete"
Are you sure you want to delete snapshot from Wed Feb 27 07:56:23
GMT+100 2013 with description 'test'?
ok
Error:
winxp:
Cannot remove Snapshot. Removing the VM active Snapshot is not allowed.
Is this expected? Why?

[Users] Introducing oVirt Monitoring UI-Plugin

I'm happy to announce oVirt Monitoring UI-Plugin, which allows the
integration of a Nagios or Icinga monitoring solution into oVirt 3.2
webadmin. With this plugin you can access detailed service check results
and information including performance graphs within oVirt webadmin for
hosts and virtual machines.
We look forward to extend this plugin with more Nagios/Icinga features
like acknowledgments, comments or service rescheduling, permissions,
dashboards, check_mk-integration for virtual machine monitoring and many
more.

[Users] OS-independent ovirt-engine distribution archive

Hello,
I'm very slowly working to make ovirt-engine running on a BSD system.
My problem is that I do it for fun and as my time resources are not big
I could not choose building ovirt-engine from sources as it would push
me to "port" (make packages) for all java dependencies. Yes, during
build maven cannot download Internet and build dependencies (for
security reasons).
Would be possible to have (another) distribution archive of
ovirt-engine which would be OS/distro-independent, so I could just
extract and copy it to filesystem for local jboss? (RPM packages can be
extracted with 'rpm2cpio' but their owners decided to make life very
complicated [many symlinks etc.]).
OS/distro-independent distribution archive (.zip, .tgz) would make life
much easiers for people wanting to have ovirt-engine running on a
non-RPM based Linux distro or on a BSD/Solaris system.

I installed 3.2 and oVirt vdsm on the same machine (fedora 18) with the
command.
yum install oVirt-engine-setup-plugin-allinone and then
engine-setup - config-allinone = yes
then, the configuration was successful, however now I am having problems
with interfaces.
I have two interfaces, `em1` (this interface was that I had configured a
static ip it) `and` ovirtmgmt, both with the same ip address.
If I erase the # 1, I just can not access the oVirt,
what can I do to solve this interface problem?

[Users] rebuild of src.rpm not "self contained"?

On an all-in-one 3.2 stable I have @home, based on f18, I was able to
modify the source part of ovirt-engine.sc.rpm
(to test fix in VmBase.java referred in another thread) and
rebuild from src.rpm and I got these packages

Questions:
1) in this out-of-line update (I retained same version in packages,
waiting for an official fix) how can update?
Simply stop engine and
rpm -UVH --force *rpm
and restart engine?
2) In general when I start from a src.rpm, the build is sort of
self-contained. Instead for ovirt-engine it downloaded many packages
from web sites (maven, atlassian, ecc...) during the build. How can I
be sure that my build is the same today and tomorrow, starting from
the same src.rpm?

[Users] Spice client USB - Linux

Hi all,
As mentioned in the features of oVirt, I should be able to use an
USB-drive on my (Spice) guest.However, the option to choose an USB
device is greyed out in the Spice Console.
"Big Uncle" RHEV 3.1 tells in
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtual...
to use "Native USB"
Am I missing something? Or: I tried using a serverprofile. Is USB
redirection only available using a desktop profile? Anyway: how can I
enable USB on my Spice Client. (Fedora 18)

Is there any workaround to get an ordered list of guests based upon sort
criteria such as status/hypervisor/cluster/etc?
This used to be possible by clicking on the column headings in the 3.0
Portal using IE8 and .NET
