Is it mandatory to have fixed IP addres for eth0, for installtion of OVirt
by John Joseph
Dear All,
As for experimental purpose I have done OVirt installation on CentOS 6.6 and it was success. Till now before installation of OVirt, I used to make the eth0 IP permanent and then install
Now I have need to take the machine to different places to demo and discuss about the installation, In this case I need to keep my eth0 on DHCP.
Was wondering whether the fixed IP address of eth0 is mandatory or can I use dhcp for the host machine, before installing Ovirt
thanks

Clone a Snapshot with REST
by Jon Disterhoft
Hello All,
I'm trying to create VM backups through the REST API using curl. My
understanding of this flow is to create a snapshot, clone the snapshot,
then export the clone machine.
I've got the snapshot part working:
curl -v --insecure -u "admin@internal:<mypass>" -H "Content-type:
application/xml" -X POST
https://<myserver>/api/vms/e7d53832-b1ba-4f6e-8218-6116a0b4ea53/snapshots
-d '
<snapshot>
<vm id="e7d53832-b1ba-4f6e-8218-6116a0b4ea53"/>
<description>TEST_SNAPSHOT</description>
<disks>
<disk id="057c80e5-701f-4dcf-a86d-a89672ff606a"/>
</disks>
</snapshot>'
However, I can't figure out how to get the clone portion working. I've
found a reference to it, but am unable to make it work:
> To clone a VM from snapshot, POST to /api/vms :
> <vm>
> ...
> <snapshots>
> <snapshot id={snapshot_id}/>
> </snapshots>
> ...
> </vm>
So the question is, how do you clone a snapshot with the REST API? Also, is
there a complete listing anywhere of all features/action supported by the
REST API?

adding LINKDELAY to ovirtmgmt when vdsm configures it
by Jason Keltz
Hi.
Is it possible through engine to specify configuration parameters for
network interfaces that must be passed through on initialization? For
example, I need em1 and em2 configured with "LINKDELAY=10". I can add
it after the fact, but I don't want to do that. I want vdsm to
configure the interface with that setup already the first time.
Jason.
