How to use ovirt-guest-agent without VDSM?

In my environment i want to use ovirt-ga replace qemu-ga.
Hypervisor is Ubuntu 14.04 (OpenStack Icehouse) and the virtual machine
is Ubuntu 14.04 cloudimage.
In Hypervisor launch a instance and attach a chardev, like:
# ps -ef | grep guest_agent

In virtual machine was installed ovirt-guest-agent 1.0.11-1.1 and service
running OK.
But i don't know how to get memory usage and other information in
hypervisor(OpenStack compute node)? I have failed when i try to use linux
command 'socat' and python socket.
I need some sample or link.

my hypervisor is very slo, my CPU is overloaded by ovirt-ha-broker

Hi oVirt group,
I'm currently trying to set up an oVirt 3.6 self hosed engine on a
replica 2 gluster volume. As you can imagine it fails since it expects a
replica 3 volume.
Since this part is hard coded during the installation this could be
easily remedied but on the other hand I'm not familiar with the oVirt
setup so I'm not sure if I would be disturbing something far a head that
again is puzzled by the lack of a replica 3 volume.
Is there a reason why it has to be exactly replica 3?
Shouldn't the redundancy of the storage back end be the responsibility
of the admin and therefore the option to choose (at least replicated and
distributed replicated) open?
I'm asking because the storage back and I'm using is kind of a 'big'
thing and it's hardware is put together to facilitate the use of replica
2. Sure I could create multiple bricks on those two machines but other
than a negative performance impact I would gain nothing. Since the price
tag of one of those servers is quite high the likelihood of getting
another one is exactly 0. So I'm sure it makes sens to you that I would
rather choose my own replication level than having one predetermined.

Ovirt vs an external existing Ldap

Hi all.
What is the best way to follow in order to attach Ovirt AAA mechanisms
to an external existing uncrypted Ldap Server ?
Such ldap is currently used by Tomcat and Samba authentication and
authorization, its schemas should be compatible with Ovirt attributes,
at least I suppose so.
I had thought of a port redirection through iptables, that is the local
389 could be transformed in the remote 389 of the existing ldap, yet I'd
like to know and learn from your experience.

Currently the Disks TAB in webadmin does not support searching by tag, you may open a RFE for that

There is already a RFE for that
For doing so we should add a TAB in the webadmin for Tags that will enable that
The challenge is that the result can be mixed entities (hosts, vms etc...), not trivial to display in one result list ...

We're planning to start composing oVirt 3.5.5 RC on *2015-09-16 08:00 UTC*
from 3.5 branches,
pending feedback on networking issues resolution.
There are still 58 bugs [1] targeted to 3.5.5.
Developers should work to push patches in prior to the build date,
patches that will not be in will be pushed to 3.5.6.

maintainers if there are issues.
- Please fill release notes, the page has been created here [2]
- Please test oVirt 3.5 nightly snapshot and add yourself to the test page
