Migrating self hosted engine from iSCSI to NFS ?

Hi all, I've a 2 hosts setup with ovirt 4, with a bunch of machines on it. I started with an old iSCSI unit, then added a new NFS storage server and started moving all VMs. All VMs have been migrated over NFS (live storage migration works great!), but now I need to move also the hosted engine, in order to dismiss the iSCSI storage. So, what're the best guidelines to migrate ? I suspect that simply doing live storage migration will not work :) All backups of the hosted engine are available. Thanks! Matteo

Ovirt/Gluster replica 3 distributed-replicated problem

Hello maybe this is more glustefs then ovirt related but since OVirt integrates Gluster management and I'm experiencing the problem in an ovirt cluster, I'm writing here. Ansible modules supporting oVirt 4

Hi, we have a great news regarding Ansible modules for oVirt 4 management. As you may have already noticed in [1] and thanks to Ondra's hard work we were able to push following modules into Ansible 2.2: ovirt_auth - manages authentication against oVirt engine instance ovirt_vms - manages VM lifecycle - manages VM's disks and NICs (more advanced disks and NICs management will be provided by specialized modules) ovirt_disks - manages VM's disks and floating disks You can find more details about those modules at [2]. But this is not end of our effort, we are working on other modules that should cover most of functionality provided by oVirt SDK and hopefully will be included in Ansible 2.3 (more info also at [2]). Any feedback on those modules would be very welcome. oVirt 3.6 and Fedora 24: How to change display resolution?

I am unable to change the display for a Fedora 24 Workstation using Gnome 3.20 from its default 1024 x 768. I, also, tried a number of spins but the behavior persist. Installing on a physical desktop does not reproduce the symptom. Installing CentOS 7 does not reproduce the symptom. oVirt 4.0.x - hosted-engine was not starting properly

Description: When my hosted engine starts it reports that it is in a degraded state = with 7 or 8 services still not started when I run systemctl status. It = takes about 6 or 7 minutes to eventually start all the services and come = online. If I don't set my cluster to Global-Maintenance mode it = eventually thinks that my hosted-engine needs to be rebooted and = restarts it before it can start everything. Solution: I realized that Apache was the culprit and found that the proxy to the = ovirt-engine in /etc/httpd/conf.d/z-ovirt-engine-proxy.conf has a super = long timeout with many retries. The change I made allows for there to be an = error, and also releases apache's hold on the process. Once everything = is ready, apache is ready to serve requests and everything/everyone is = happy. Before making the change, I just get a whitescreen in my browser = and then nothing works until I restart Apache (or I end up in an endless = loop of ovirt-ha services restarting my hosted-engine. I noticed that this setting reverts to the original setting, so oVirt = must be writing this file. The change I made allows for = there to be an error, and also releases apache's hold on the process. = Once everything is ready, apache is ready to serve requests and = everything/everyone is happy. vioscsi.sys BSOD with Win 7

Hi, I'm running oVirt 3.6.3.4-1.el7.centos and when I install a Win 7 guest VM, using VirtIO disk, networking etc, it goes through the install process ok, but blue screens upon boot with a vioscsi.sys error (attached). I have tried the official version ovirt-guest-tools-iso 3.6.0 0.2_master.fc22, as well as some earlier and later versions. I am using a PXE boot method with a Windows deployment server, which has the drivers from the oVirt tools ISO installed (indeed, it picks up the drive and networking and I can see it installing the drivers). I have tried with the generic IDE and rtl8139 config on the guest, and it also fails with the same vioscsi.sys error after rebooting upon finishing installation even though I'm using IDE as the disk driver. I have uploaded a win 7 x64 ISO and tried installing that, and it loads the VirtIO viostor driver (using the method at: https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/how-to/virtual-machines/create-a-wind...), and even manages to partition the disks, but fails to install on the disk (screenshot attached). I've tried temporarily removing the vioscsi files from the install server as a last resort, but as expected it fails to install properly, though I thought it used the viostor driver instead.
