oVirt developers community, I see there are a few enhancements submitted in GitHub: engine: Add amt_ws fence agent support <https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-engine/pull/810> Notification emails merging and localization <https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-engine/pull/798> And also some rebase proposal: Rebase on WildFly 26 <https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-engine/issues/637> Which would probably make more sense to be targeted to an oVirt 4.6 than a 4.5.z. There are now about three hundreds Untargeted issues(no milestone set) <https://github.com/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+user%3Aovirt+archived%3A...> to be triaged and about sixty Untargeted PRs (no milestone set) <https://github.com/pulls?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Apr+user%3Aovirt+archived%3Afals...> to be reviewed. Some of them might be ready for a 4.5.z bugfix release while others can wait for a 4.6. Anyone willing to step in to lead the oVirt 4.6 development? Ovirt Hosted Engine - Offline Deployment

Hi Team, I need some help deploying Ovirt Hosted Engine. I have installed Ovirt Node 4.5.4 on my intel NUC as a small development environment for a bigger project. I am not able to connect the NUC to the internet but am able to download any relevant packages onto a hard drive and connect this to the system. I have attempted to deploy Hosted Engine via the CLI with the following command: "hosted-engine --deploy --4 --ansible-extra-vars=he_offline_deployment=true". This Fails as it is unable to resolve the URL for the mirror? I feel as though I must be missing some pre-deployment step which changes the repo path but my knowledge in this area is definitely not where it needs to be. I've trolled through the internet but cant find any sort of documentation which details the involved steps. Does anyone have any knowledge on how do accomplish this with my previously mentioned restrictions?

Timeout during the creation of vm

Hello sometimes the creation of the vm require more time and the script go in timeout: An exception occurred during task execution. To see the full traceback, use -vvv. The error was: Exception: Timeout exceed while waiting on result state of the entity. fatal: [co001olv]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Timeout exceed while waiting on result state of the entity."} there is i way for increse the timeout? regards

PKIX path validation failed: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: validity check failed

We are receiving this message into engine web page, surprising us due to certificate renewal done three months ago, during upgrade from 4.5.2 to 4.5.3. Infact, all certificates are valid, with only two exceptions: In /etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs, apache.cer and websocket-proxy.cer were reporting expired certificates. We've done the defined action to renew certificates, with engine-setup --oflline and everything goes smoothly, but instead of two 5-years valid SSL certificates, we've got 2 1-year valid (more or less): #openssl x509 -noout -startdate -enddate -in websocket-proxy.cer notBefore=Feb 4 20:59:14 2023 GMT notAfter=Mar 9 20:59:14 2024 GMT #openssl x509 -noout -startdate -enddate -in apache.cer notBefore=Feb 4 20:59:14 2023 GMT notAfter=Mar 9 20:59:14 2024 GMT It's the correct behaviour ? I'm already aware about web SSL certificate duration "restriction" to 1-year, but all other certs have a 5-year validity. Ovirt Rename multiple disks

Hi I'm new to using ansible, I'm writing a playbook to install a vm from template, everything works fine except for the disk names which stay the same as the template. oVirt Installation in ESXi 7

Re: CPU Shares

Hi Nick, Setting CPU Shares only changes how the instance works. It does not affect the current workload unless the instance is under pressure. For example, if you are running an RDBMS, you may see a performance improvement when normalizing the database or generating a monthly report. Even that, the improvement may be minimum. Do not expect a sensible performance improvement for normal operation. Performance tuning is not magic. You will often perform many configurations to see a 1%, maybe 2% gain. We have several VMs which are CPU pinned due to licensing. We would like to favor one VM since it is our application VM over the other VMs which it is pinned with. Would I set the CPU share on the one that needs to priority to high or low? In the documentation I see the following: Specify CPU Shares. Possible options are Low, Medium, High, Custom, and Disabled. Virtual machines set to High receive twice as many shares as Medium, and virtual machines set to Medium receive twice as many shares as virtual machines set to Low. Disabled instructs VDSM to use an older algorithm for determining share dispensation; usually the number of shares dispensed under these conditions is 1020. I currently have it set to high and I believe it is doing the opposite of what I want it to do as the CPU steal percentage appears to be 10-15% over the other VMs which show no CPU steal and are set to low. I'd like to confirm if I have this setup correctly or not. Thanks, Nick
