virtio-vga. To be specific (libvirt):
<video>
<model type='virtio' heads='1' primary='yes'>
<acceleration accel3d='no'/>
</model>
<address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00'
slot='0x02' function='0x0'/>
</video>
which results in:
-device virtio-vga,id=video0,virgl=off,max_outputs=1,bus=pci.0,addr=0x2
This works perfectly with my Fedora 32 and Arch guests and the change is really worth it.
Hi,
what kind of performance benefits you’ve seen?
It’s not currently in near term roadmap, but if anyone wants to contribute patches I don’t
see a problem including it as an option for newer guests indeed.
Thanks,
michal
