Hi,
I'm trying to install ovirt AllnOne, following these steps:
Install FC19
yum localinstall http://resources.ovirt.org/releases/ovirt-release.noarch.rpm
yum install yum-utils
yum-config-manager --enable ovirt-3.4
yum-config-manager --enable fedora-virt-preview
yum-config-manager --enable ovirt-epel
yum install epel-release
yum -y update
yum -y install ovirt-engine
engine-setup
When asked "Configure VDSM on this host?", I answered yes
rpm -qa|grep vdsm
vdsm-xmlrpc-4.14.6-0.fc19.noarch
vdsm-python-zombiereaper-4.14.6-0.fc19.noarch
vdsm-4.14.6-0.fc19.x86_64
vdsm-cli-4.14.6-0.fc19.noarch
vdsm-python-4.14.6-0.fc19.x86_64
Now I can access to the Administration Portal, but cannot start the local Hots, allways get this message:
Host's Compatibility Version doesn't match the Cluster's Compatibility Version.
Host local_host is installed with VDSM version (Non interactive user) and cannot join cluster local_cluster which is compatible with VDSM versions [4.13, 4.14, 4.9, 4.11, 4.12, 4.10].
What can I do to fix it?
Thanks

ovirt 3.4 hosted-engine static IP
by Klas Mattsson
Hello, new user here!
I've noticed that the virtual interface ovirtmgmt gets an IP address by
DHCP.
Is there any good way to make it static instead?
I've seen a workaround which is basically:
run hosted-engine --deploy
Let it configure the management interface.
Cancel
Change the IP adress to static in:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ovirtmgmt
Run hosted-engine --deploy again.
Would this be the current appropriate solution?
Also, is it possible to change this later on, after the installation is
finished?
I would appreciate any assistance.
With my best regards
Klas Mattsson

ovirt image deployment and foreman?
by Andrew Lau
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone's had any luck with oVirt and Foreman 1.5
image integration.
Foreman 1.5 seems to boast the new oVirt image deployment feature but
I'm still not getting much luck and no one seems to know why. I've
opened my bug here http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/5581
So far I've only got up to:
The VM will be created in oVirt, it will have no disk attached to it
and it's template configurable such as "Delete protection" are not
kept.
Could anyone shed some light on this?
Cheers,
Andrew

Recovering from an aborted hosted-engine --deploy
by Bob Doolittle
Hi,
I had an issue at the end of my hosted-engine --deploy.
My VM was stuck during OS installation because I was unable to configure
the network for some reason.
So I chose the final option "3" to abort the deployment.
Now, I seem to be stuck. If I try to re-run --deploy it says it's
already installed.
If I try to run --vm-status, it says:
Cannot connect to the HA daemon, please check the logs.
But it's not clear what logs I should look at to get more info.
I've attached the most recently modified logs. I can't get useful
information out of them I'm afraid.
There is no log for /var/log/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha
Any clues?
Thanks,
Bob

Upside-Down Effect with HTML5-SPICE on Ovirt 3.5 and Windows Guest
by Felipe Herrera Martinez
Hi all,
There is any fix or workaround to avoid the Up-Side effect when using HTML5-SPICE to access Windows Guest? I'm testing with Windows 7 and HTML5, present the Window inverted, while with Linux Guest it properly works.
Any help would be appreciated.

newbee questions
by John Smith
Hi,
Im very new to virtualization on Linux, wanting to kick the tires
some, and am wondering where best to go next.
Right now, ive done the 'all in one install' of ovirt 3.4 on a single
fedora 19 machine. Its a desktop with a wifi network interface, and im
trying to set up the kvm hypervisor in combination with macvtap. Any
pointers to docs on what best to do next is appreciated. Im currently
trying to make sense of this:
http://www.ovirt.org/Quick_Start_Guide
Also, as far as I can tell, there seems to be an issue with the
detection of my wireless wifi network interface 'wlp2s0' as it doesnt
seem to show up anywhere in the interface. I can attach the
'ovirtmgmt' network to my standard wired ethernet interface 'p2p2',
but that device is not in use on the machine and it is disconnected
from the network.
Reading about linux virt and issues with bridging with wifi NIC's on
the web made me, perhaps incorrectly here, assume that a wifi nic
might be an issue, so thats where the idea to use macvtap came from.
Manual setup of macvtap seems to work, as i can do this without issues
on a root prompt on the same machine:
ip link add link wlp2s0 name macvtap0 type macvtap
ip link set macvtap0 address 1a:46:0b:ca:bc:7b up
ip link show macvtap0
But the wifi interface 'wlp2s0' does not seem to show up in the ovirt
web gui interface.
Im sorry if I sound confusing here, but that may be just because im
really still confused about ovirt.
;)
So any pointers on what to read up on or do next is appreciated,
Thanks,
Regards,
John Smith.

Sizing Recommendations For oVirt+Gluster
by Breandan Dezendorf
I am planning on doing a small-scale oVirt setup to prepare for a
larger deployment at $JOB. I've looked over the mailing list and done
some research via Google, but I am having trouble getting a sizing
recommendation for what I want to do. I plan to run 8-10 VMs, each
with 1-2 GB RAM and 1 or 2 virtual processors. On the storage side, I
have 4.5 TB of various media that I would like to make available along
side VM storage, the bulk of which is non-compressable Nikon NEFs.
I was looking at a pair of servers: Quad-core Xeon's with
HyperThreading, 32 GB of RAM, quad gigE Intel NICs. I have 8 2TB SATA
hard drives and 6 750GB SATA hard drives to spread between the
servers.
I know it's possible to run the gluster storage on the same nodes that
oVirt VMs are running, but I am wondering if this is wise, with the
load I'm suggesting and the server specs I've outlined here. Ideally,
if either node has to be taken down, I'd like to be able to
move/migrate all the VMs to the other node, do the maintenance needed,
and bring the node back online. I'm willing to take a performance hit
while one node is down, but I need all VMs and storage services to be
available.
thanks,

[Users] oVirt Node Bootloader issue
by Nauman Abbas
Hello there
I'm facing this problem and this has happened to me multiple times on
different machines. I have two hard drives in my system (lets say HDD A and
HDD B). I boot the system from the oVirt node CD to install it. Now I want
the bootloader and the node installation both to go on HDD B and not HDD A.
When I get to the screen which asks me to select the hard-drive for
bootloader I use the arrow keys to select HDD B and press Enter (have also
tried pressing space or just use tab and continue while it's selected).
Then I get to the screen asking where to install the node. I select HDD B
and unselect HDD A. I keep the partitioning setup as default ( have also
tried manual and kept 5GB unused on HDD A). When I get to install part. It
installs the node fine on HDD B as expected but it always gets the
boot-loader on HDD A. This issue has wasted many of my days on different
machines and I can't seem to find a way around.
