Hi, if you got any CentOS version < 6.5 it will not work as you need at least cloud-init version 0.7.2 as this version supports the used way of submitting the meta-data and user data files to the vm (via cd rom payload). so in short: you need at least centos 6.5 and cloud-init 0.7.2. inside the vm if you can't install this versions for some reason you can still write your own custom script to parse the data.
