[Users] missing iso files?

the docs imply that the virtio and guest tools isos should be installed in the premade iso storage area, but nothing was setup on my install. furthermore the files that should be in /usr/share are not there either. is this something that isn't in ovirt, but only in rhev? or did something mess up in my install?

and i don't seem to have the ovirt-iso-uploader tool either... On 03/07/2012 12:04 PM, Joe Pruett wrote:

ok, found engine-iso-uploader. still missing the isos, but i can download them from the net. sounds like mainly doc issues? On 03/07/2012 12:08 PM, Joe Pruett wrote:

Hi Joe, Assuming you are referring to the installation guide, documentation bugs can be raised here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=oVirt&component=doc-Installation-Guide Thanks, Steve

i guess the question i have is whether the docs are "right" and the packages are wrong or the other way around? i can certainly submit a bug and let you guys sort it out, if that is easiest.

In terms of the UI question you raised (about overcommit) I couldn't be 100% sure, but if the docs specify the wrong binary names that is a more obvious correction that's needed. Steve

as a coder, i know that sometimes the software needs to change to match the docs. so it could be that the binary should be renamed to ovirt-iso-upload. i guess just submitting the bug that they don't match is good enough and you guys can sort out which side should change. i'll get into bugzilla later today.

there are actually numerous references to ovirt-* commands, that are all actually engine-*. i have submitted a bugzilla bug 801261 on it. On 2012-03-07 12:31, Steve Gordon wrote:

steve, looking at section 9.2.1, I think we still didn't have anyone package any of these iso's/vfd's for ovirt and this section should be removed for now?

Again I'm going to have to ask for a bug as I am expecting rather a lot of these: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=oVirt&component=doc-Installation-Guide Out of interest when will we providing the ISOs/VFDs? Steve
