host node non-operational
by Angel R. Gonzalez
Hello,
I've installed a engine server and 2 host nodes. After install the 2
nodes I've configured a nfs domain storage in the first node. After few
minutes, the second host is down and I dont put it online.
The log in the engine show:
>Host node2 cannot access the Storage Domain(s) nfsexport_node1
attached to the Data Center Labs. Setting Host state to Non-Operational.
The nfsexport Storage Domain Format is V4, but in the /etc/nfsmount.conf
Defaultproto=tcp
Defaultvers=3
Nfsvers=3
Also I've added the line
NFS4_SUPPORT="no"
to /etc/sysconfig/nfs file
The node1's iptables rules are:
ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere state RELATED,ESTABLISHED
ACCEPT icmp -- anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT all -- anywhere anywhere
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:54321
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:54322
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:sunrpc
ACCEPT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:sunrpc
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:ssh
ACCEPT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:snmp
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:websm
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:16514
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere multiport dports
rockwell-csp2
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere multiport dports rfb:6923
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere multiport dports
49152:49216
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:nfs
ACCEPT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:nfs
ACCEPT tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:mountd
ACCEPT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:mountd
REJECT all -- anywhere anywhere reject-with
icmp-host-prohibited
And the output of showmount -e command in a terminal of node1 is:
>/nfs/data *
But the output of showmount -e node1 in a terminal of node2 is
>clnt_create: RPC: Port mapper failure - Unable to receive: errno 113
(No route to host)
Any help?
Thanks you in advance.

Custom iptables rules usage
by Leon Goldberg
Hey,
We've been wondering whether the ability to add custom iptables rules
to be deployed on hosts sees any usage.
Currently custom iptable rules are stored in IPTablesConfigSiteCustom
and are defaulted to an empty string.
We're planning to add host firewalld configuration deployment and are
looking to determine whether custom rule support should be implemented
as well.
Thanks,
Leon

Error on Adding Host
by FERNANDO FREDIANI
Hi folks.
I think I have been hit by the most annoying error you can get on oVirt.
I have removed a Host from Engine, re-installed it with the latest
ovirt-node-ng ISO, tried to add the freshly installed Host back to Engine
and got the following error:
"Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session"
The host has the same FQDN as before and I have cleaned the SSH from the
known_hosts file in the Engine before trying to add it on the web interface.
I have also tried this process with 2 different ISO files:
- ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.1-pre-2017030911.iso
- ovirt-node-ng-installer-ovirt-4.1-pre-2017031104.iso
And the Engine is version 4.1.1.4-1
Have searched for this error and there are a lot of people affected but not
a single solution solves it.
Please give some light.
Thanks
Fernando

Chrome and Portal Cert
by Brett Holcomb
I'm running 3.6. version of oVirt on Centos 7.2 physical server in a
hosted engine configuration environment and I keep getting the untrusted
site from Chrome stable current version browser. I've retrieved the cert
from https://myengine/ca.crt and saved it. I then go to Chrome and
Settings->Advanced->Manage Certificates and import it to trusted
authorities and check all the boxes. Chrome enters it and seems happy
until I go to the site the next time. My client is Fedora 24.
I have checked the oVirt docs and ignoring the ones with broken links it
appears I'm following the correct procedure. I assume Google Chrome is
the culprit and checking on how to enter certs into Google produces
many, many different ways most that are wrong. The current version
forces you to the developer mode security tab to view the cert. I've
done all that and restarted Chrome and still get the insecure error.
If someone has successfully gotten the oVirt cert to work in Chrome on
Linux (Fedora 24) I would appreciate a post on how it was done.
Thanks.

make nodectl happy: node partitioning in kickstart

Hello list,

I have no idea what nodectl is really complaining about. Can you please help me finding
out, which checks fail and how to solve that? Are there komplete kickstart files around
for node deployment (could not find them on the web)?
Many thanks in advance!

Cluster upgrade from 3.6 to 4.1 fails
by jvdwege

As per the subject I'm trying to upgrade my ovirt install and sofar the
upgrade has been smooth.
I'm running hosted-engine in Centos7.3 and my hosts are running Fedora24
now with ovirt-4.1
If I try to upgrade my cluster from version 3.6 to 4.0 or 4.1 I receive
an error message and can't find a solution using google. First I get the
following message:
All running VMs will be temporarily reconfigured to use the previous
cluster compatibility version and marked pending configuration change.
In order to change the cluster compatibility version of the VM to a new
version, the VM needs to be manually shut down and restarted.
There are 1 running VM(s) affected by this change.
Are you sure you want to change the Cluster Compatibility Version?
Yes, I want to change version :-) so I click OK
I then get the following error message:
Error while executing action:
* Cannot edit Cluster. Illegal number of monitors is provided, max
allowed number of monitors is 1 for VNC and the max number in the
ValidNumOfMonitors configuration variable for SPICE.
* Cannot edit VM. Illegal number of monitors is provided, max allowed
number of monitors is 1 for VNC and the max number in the
ValidNumOfMonitors configuration variable for SPICE.
Anyone has seen this before and is able to help?
Thanks,
Joop

Issue about integrating Ovirt 4 and OSP
by Alessio Dini
Hello all,
in our lab we are trying to integrate Ovirt 4 and OSP.
Actually we have OSP deployed via packstack on the system called
neutron.local, a single hypervisor called rhvh.local and hosted engine
called rhvm.local.
We correctly added neutron.local as neutron external provider.
The issue we are facing is: trying to poweron a Ovirt vm with neutron
network as vnic will fail with "Cannot get interface MTU on
"internal-net":No such Device.
Looking via openstack horizon we can see that internal-net has 1500 as MTU.
We also configured the OnlyRequiredNetworksMandatoryForVdsSelection
property as true on the Ovirt manager.
What we are missing?
Thank you all for your time
Best Regards
Alessio Dini
