Recently both oVirt node and Hypervisor have moved to gluster v6 (although I have moved a little bit earlier). For me v6 of Gluster is quite stable and if you dig up really nice , you will be able to even setup 'gtop' which gives great info. Ovirt is quite well integrated with gluster - doing health checks ,provide monitoring, allow creating additional gluster volumes and many more. Still, if you have FC available - it should be way easier to setup and tune. Docs are one of the weak stuff , but you can always check RHV (4.0+) and Oracle docs - as oVirt is upstream of RedHat's and Oracle's Virtualization. oVirt + Gluster

Hey All, Seeing GlusterFS up to version 7, do any of the oVirt versions support anything higher then 3.X? Or is Gluster not the preferred distributed file system choice for oVirt? -- Thx, TK.

On the opposite - ovirt supports up to v6 of gluster and in cockpit, you can setup your hyperconverged setup (on gluster) abd your hosted engine ontop. ifcfg-bond0 getting overwritten.

Hey All, My ifcfg-bond0 is getting overwritten on reboot. Need to add a search string to the configuration. What's overwriting it and should I be trying to add a search string to another location? -- Thx, TK.

This depends if you use NetworkManager.service for other connections. If you don't use NetworkManager , then that's a working approach. Linked Clones?

Hi, I am approaching and studying oVirt in order to propose the solution to a customer as a replacement for a commercial solution they have now. They only need Desktop virtualization. Sorry for the silly question, but I can't find a way to deploy a VM (template) to users as a "linked-clone", meaning that the users' image still refers to the original image but modification are written (and afterwards read) from a new location. This technique is called Copy-on-write. Can this be achieved with oVirt? Fabio

CentOS 7.7 has been released this week. Please note that CentOS 7.7 is not supported for oVirt 4.2 and older releases. If you want to upgrade to CentOS 7.7 please upgrade to oVirt 4.3 too. If you don't plan to upgrade to oVirt 4.3 please be sure your yum repo files points to http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7.6.1810/ instead of http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/. The http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/ URL is now pointing to http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7.7.1908/ so yum upgrade will bring you 7.7 content which may break your 4.2 installation. Yeah, I've noticed I was searching for the wrong library (patching from phone seems to be not such a smart idea :) ) . Installing libibverbs fixed the issue, and a bug is opened so devs can find where the deps were missing. Did you notice this behaviour on your setup ? Once created a "main" VM we keep it alone to embed Windows updates. Then we clone this into a "service" VM which we convert into a Template to deploy to users. Now, what is the Best Practice to update WIndows OS for the all the users?
