Disk locked after backup
by Fabio Cesar Hansen
Hi.
I am using the https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-engine-sdk/blob/master/sdk/examples/downlo... script to backup my vms.
The problem is that always after the backup finishes, the snapshot is locked.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

Re: disable selinux ?
by Strahil
I think I used to have a vdsm issue a long time ago.
Why would you disable SELINUX, it provides various options to adapt to non-SELINUX aware apps.

Re: Linked Clones?
by Strahil
At least KVM can do that.
If I understood correctly, you want a base disk for multiple VMs and the delta should be stored in separate disk, right?
I am using VDO (with gluster) under my storage, so any duplicate data is deduplicated (and if yiu enable compression - compressed) by VDO.
Have you thought about VDO - it works with almost any block storage ?Of course both technology will reduce the I/O performance compared to raw storage.
Also, let's see if actually oVirt has such option...

Upgrade from 4.3.5 rc5 to 4.3.6 rc5 strange errors
by Strahil
Hello Community,
I was waiting for 7.7 to come up before I upgrade my lab.
The engine got upgraded without issues, same for OS - but after the system powered up I receive the following:
[root@ovirt1 ~]# ssh engine
root@engine's password:
Last login: Wed Sep 18 19:48:32 2019 from ovirt1.localdomainnet_mlx5: cannot load glue library: libibverbs.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

[root@engine ~]#
Anyone else experiecing this ?
I can't find libmlx4 or libmlx5 in the repos.
P.S.: I have a gluster snapshot, so I can rollback if needed.
For now I will postpone my hosts' upgrade.

how to add devices to a qemu config.xml of a virtual machine
by pascal@butterflyit.com
Hi,
I would like to be able to share a local folder with my remote desktop hosted by ovirt. Looking everywhere it seems that what is needed is to have spice-webdavd installed on the guest and have qemu set with this channel org.spice-space.webdav.0
I don't see in the web admin interface any ways to add those channels, but found on the web an addon which could maybe work vdsm-hook-qemucmdline but can't find a package compiled for the latest version and how to install it
Also I noticed in the latest version of ovirt 4.3.5 there are 2 flags:
Enable SPICE file transfer
Enable SPICE clipboard copy and paste
But that doesn't seem to change anything
Any help appreciated

Re: Changing ISO domains
by Strahil
Actually ISO domains are deprecated as stated by the devs in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1673059
There is no warning yet, which makes the confusion.

Opened a bug in bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1753363) , if it is a duplicate - please send me an e-mail to relate to my bug post.
