[Users] 3.4 planning sheet
by Itamar Heim
Just an update:
All feature requests which did not have a devel owner were moved to a
separate sheet.
From experience, not all features with a devel owner make the version,
and some more items will probably get devel owners over the next couple
of weeks.
Thanks,

[Users] info on chrome and spice
by Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
I have an all-in-one installation based on Fedora 18 and oVirt stable repo.
oVirt is 3.2.3-1.fc18
Fedora system is updated at 11/11/2013.
I have both firefox (firefox-25.0-3.fc18.x86_64) and chrome
(google-chrome-stable-30.0.1599.114-1.x86_64 , baseurl of yum from
baseurl=http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/x86_64)
While I can use spice console with firefox, in chrome the icon is not enabled.
Is there any way to have chrome able to open spice console?
Does it change anything in oVirt 3.3 for chrome on Linux (and/or on WIndows)?
Thanks,
Gianluca

[Users] replacing self-signed certificates
by i iordanov
Hello,
I searched around but could not come up with specific instructions for how
to replace the self-signed certificates in an oVirt 3.3 setup with
non-self-signed certificates. I need to ensure that my oVirt/SPICE client
actually does the right thing when connecting to a machine with a 3rd party
signed certificate.
Presumably, I would be able to adapt the instructions provided here:
http://www.ovirt.org/How_to_change_engine_host_name
right? Which steps need to be modified? If I hammer at it long enough, I
would probably succeed in getting it to work at some point, but I was
hoping for somebody more experienced to help me over the initial hurdle.
In case I have to reinstall to use non-self-signed certificates, how do I
go about preparing the environment prior to running engine-setup?
Thanks!
iordan

[Users] RFE question
by Jakub Bittner
Hello,
I would like to ask how to post RFE to oVirt. I know about google
spreadsheet, but should I post RFE to users mailing list and after some
discussion post it to bugzilla?
I have 2 rfe on oVirt web interface:
1) I think that nice to have feature would be to have fourth column with
disk usage in Virtual Machine tab.
2) Great improvement wold also be possibility to sort Virtual Machine
tab by clicking on column name. For example: When I click on "Memory"
all VMs get sorted by memory usage.
If this RFE already exists, I am sorry. But I did not find it.
Thank you.

[Users] Problem with host
by Koen Vanoppen
Hello All,
I was a little bit to enthusiastic and removed a Test-Datacenter with 1
test cluster and 1 host in it.
Now I have these error messages (but the host doesn't exist anymore) :

Please check the host status, manually reboot it, and click "Confirm Host

And on top of that, I can't re-add the host, because oVirt still things he

Anybody knows a solution to this issue?
Kind Regards,

[Users] CfP: Virtualisation and IaaS DevRoom at FOSDEM'14
by Itamar Heim
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/fosdem14-virt-and-iaas-devroom
Call for Participation
The scope for this devroom is open source, openly-developed projects in
the areas of virtualisation and IaaS type clouds, ranging from low level
to data center, up to cloud management platforms and cloud resource
orchestration.
Sessions should always target a developer audience. Bonus points for
collaborative sessions that would be appealing to developers from
multiple projects.
We are particularly interested in the following themes:
- low level virtualisation aspects
- new features in classic and container-based virtualisation
technologies
- new use cases for virtualisation, such as virtualisation in mobile,
automotive and embedded in general
- other resource virtualisation technologies: networking, storage, …
- deep technical dives into specific IaaS or virtualisation management
projects features
- relationship between IaaS projects and specific dependencies (not
just virtualisation)
- integration and development leveraging solutions from multiple
projects
Important dates
Submission deadline: Sunday, December 1st, 2013
Acceptance notifications: Sunday, December 15th, 2013
Final schedule announcement: Friday January 10th, 2014
Devroom @ FOSDEM'14: February 1st & 2nd, 2014
Practical
Submissions should be 40 minutes, and consist of a 30 minute
presentation with 10 minutes of Q&A or 40 minutes of discussions (e.g.,
requests for feedback, open discussions, etc.). Interactivity is
encouraged, but optional. Talks are in English only.
We do not provide travel assistance or reimbursement of travel expenses
for accepted speakers.
Submissions should be made via the FOSDEM submission page at
https://penta.fosdem.org/submission/FOSDEM14 :
- If necessary, create a Pentabarf account and activate it
- In the “Person” section, provide First name, Last name (in the
“General” tab), Email (in the “Contact” tab) and Bio (“Abstract”
field in the “Description” tab)
- Submit a proposal by clicking on “Create event"
- Important! Select the "Virtualisation and IaaS" track (on the
“General” tab)
- Provide the title of your talk (“Event title” in the “General” tab)
- Provide a 250-word description of the subject of the talk and the
intended audience (in the “Abstract” field of the “Description” tab)
- Provide a rough outline of the talk or goals of the session (a short
list of bullet points covering topics that will be discussed) in the
“Full description” field in the “Description” tab

Hello,
would be nice, if BZ119100 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1009100 could be included.
Ether as solution or by adding a work arround (adding pe. a disable_livesnapshot to the engine database)
