hosted engine , how to make changes to the VM post deploy

I have successfully migrated my standalone ovirt into a hosted instance. I have some questions and comments. Is there a mechanism to make changes to the hosted engine VM post deploy. I would like to change some of the VM configuration choices. I tried setting the maintenance mode to "global" and then editing: /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/vm.conf I changed something simple: the VM name. Then I copied the file to the two other HA hosts and set the maintenance mode to "none". No joy the VM hostname remains unchanged in the portal. Also, the notification system is horrendously spammy, I get email notification of each state change from each of the HA hosts, surely this is not intentional. Is there some way to control this? -Thanks, Alastair

Latest ovirt-node release/installation

I sincerely hope that this is not answered elsewhere as I've done several searches and have yet to find a solid answer. I have three (what I believe to be) basic questions (with perhaps some subs there): 1) What is the latest oVirt-node release and where would one download it (I appear to only see 3.4 -based releases of the ISO available)? It is 3.5-based and/or is there an upgrade path? Which glusterfs release is currently included with oVirt-node? 2) As I understand it, newer releases of oVirt-node allow you to do an installation of the self-hosted engine at this time. Is that correct? 3) Is there any functionality that one would be losing out on by deploying oVirt via oVirt-node vs. using full-OS installation? Which is the more recommended? Again, I apologize if these questions are covered somewhere, but I felt like asking them in a direct fashion so as to clear up my own ignorance. Migrating from Fedora 19 to Fedora 20 with oVirt 3.5.0

Hi, just finished testing migration path from F19 to F20 for systems running oVirt. F19 is going EOL one month after F21 release which is currently planned for December 2nd. If you're running oVirt on Fedora 19 I suggest you to do it once finished to upgrade oVirt to 3.5.0. noVNC

Hi: I have my VDSM service and engine up and running now am trying to create a VM. As my client machine is Windows 8.1 Pro I am trying to use noVNC to connect. Am not using a self signed SSL cert but every time I try and connect it says "connect timeout". Port on the engine is listening fine: tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:6100 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1964/python What could I be doing wrong please ? Thanks, Phil

Network rules

Hello, I'm new, so forgive me if this is stupid or in the wrong place. Because of security reasons, I want a network, where my VMs can talk to one single VM (eg. proxy or management), but not with each other or the host machine. Is there a simple way to solve this, without creating dozens of networks? Jürgen
