[Users] Having Trouble Getting NFS Data Domain Back.
by Shawn R.
To give some background I've been working with Unix for years, I'm a AIX
System Administrator and I also support our small Red Hat farm (30
servers). We recently started using RHEV and I'd like to get to use oVirt
to help me get more hands on with it at home and just cause it's a fun
project.
I've installed OE and VDSM on the same box and setup 2 LOCAL data domains:
iso, storage1. Everything is working great until I do a reboot... when the
server comes back up I can't seem to get the mounts back. I see them get
mounted but OE keeps telling me it failed (Failed to activate Storage
Domain storage1 (Data Center Local)). I've tried and rebooting the VDSMD
process, and keep clicking active on the data domain. I can sometimes get
it to come back but I don't know what made it work or why it came back.
Just so I'm not missleading I am doing a reboot without putting them in
maintenaince mode I know this definitly is not best practice but since this
is a home server there's a good chance that it will get turned off without
warning often (power, kids, wife unplugging to put in vaccum...).
So finally my question is should the local mounts just come back on their
own and something is broken? Or should I be doing some manuals steps to get
them back? If so what are those steps?
I appreciate any and all help and please let me know what more information
I can provide.
Thanks,
Shawn

[Users] Moving oVirt engine to Jboss AS 7.1.1
by Oved Ourfalli
Hey all,
We have pushed patches that make the necessary adjustments to allow working with the newest Jboss version, Jboss AS 7.1.1 Final.
After fetching please do the following:
* Download Jboss AS 7.1.1.Final from http://download.jboss.org/jbossas/7.1/jboss-as-7.1.1.Final/jboss-as-7.1.1...
* Change the JBOSS_HOME wherever you defined it.
* Change the Jboss Home in ~/.m2/settings.xml.
* Run a full build, including setup: mvn clean install -DskipTests -Psetup,dep (consider using flags -Dgwt.userAgent=gecko1_8 and -Dgwt.draftCompile=true to avoid compiling GWT on all permutations).
* Run jboss as usual.
If you have any issues, reply here and we'll do anything to help.
The oVirt engine wiki page (http://www.ovirt.org/wiki/Building_oVirt_engine) was changes accordingly.
Thank you,
Oved

[Users] Unable to migrate host
by Christian Hernandez
Hello,
It seems when I try to migrate a VM from one host to another I get this
error that says "Migration destination has an invalid hostname"
Screenshot
I can ping all machines using hostnames (although shouldn't RHEVM and the
Hosts be using IPs ?) and they are all are on the same network segment...
Here is the engine.log...

Hello all,
I'm trying to setup oVirt for testing. Using Fedora 16 as the
management piece of the puzzle, ovirt-engine install went without error
near as I can tell.
Using CentOS 6.2 as the "host" machine I keep getting the error:

This happens consistently. I've looked into the logs but I'm not even

[Users] error when regestering a host with vdsm 4.9.6 in ovirt 3.1
by Nathanaël Blanchet
I have built and installed the latest RPM ovirt-engine from the source
on F16 and the latest RPM VDSM 4.9.6 on F17 because of nedeed dependancies.
when I add a new host, installation always fails with this issue :
Failed to install Host khamsin. Step: CreateConf; Details: Basic
configuration failed to import default values.
I tried to disable ssl in engine and vdsm but it is the same.
I have searched more explications into vdsm and ovirt log but I have
found anything
I suppose vdsm to be the problem, the only way to build it with success
is to install it on F17, which is a beta release...
This makes me crazy!
May anybody help me to find a clue for this issue?
