[Users] Unable to add fresh oVirt host
by Andrey F.
I am attempting to add the first host to a newly setup oVirt. Here is the
error message that I am getting:
2012-04-27 00:09:23,485 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.VdsInstaller]

meaningful response recieved from Host. (Stage: Running first installation
script on Host)
The following shows up in engine log before hand or if I try to run the
script manually on the oVirt node:

[Users] Having Trouble Getting NFS Data Domain Back.
by Shawn R.
To give some background I've been working with Unix for years, I'm a AIX
System Administrator and I also support our small Red Hat farm (30
servers). We recently started using RHEV and I'd like to get to use oVirt
to help me get more hands on with it at home and just cause it's a fun
project.
I've installed OE and VDSM on the same box and setup 2 LOCAL data domains:
iso, storage1. Everything is working great until I do a reboot... when the
server comes back up I can't seem to get the mounts back. I see them get
mounted but OE keeps telling me it failed (Failed to activate Storage
Domain storage1 (Data Center Local)). I've tried and rebooting the VDSMD
process, and keep clicking active on the data domain. I can sometimes get
it to come back but I don't know what made it work or why it came back.
Just so I'm not missleading I am doing a reboot without putting them in
maintenaince mode I know this definitly is not best practice but since this
is a home server there's a good chance that it will get turned off without
warning often (power, kids, wife unplugging to put in vaccum...).
So finally my question is should the local mounts just come back on their
own and something is broken? Or should I be doing some manuals steps to get
them back? If so what are those steps?
I appreciate any and all help and please let me know what more information
I can provide.
Thanks,
Shawn
