[Users] GlusterFS Distributed Replicate
by gregoire.leroy@retenodus.net
Hello,
As I said in a previous email, I have this configuration with Ovirt 3.3
:
1 Ovirt Engine
2 Hosts Centos 6.5
I successfully setup GlusterFS. I created a distributed replicate volume
with 2 bricks : host1:/gluster and host2:/gluster.
Then, I created a storage storage_gluster POSIXFS with the option
glusterfs and I gave the path "host1:/gluster".
First, I'm rather surprised I have to specify an host for the storage as
I wish to have a distribute replicated storage. I expected to specify
both hosts.
Then I create a VM on this storage. The expected behaviour if I shutdown
host1 should be that my VM keeps running on the second brick. Yet, not
only I lose my VM but host2 is in a non operationnal status because one
of its data storage is not reachable.
Did I miss something in the configuration ? How could I get the wanted
behaviour ?
Thanks a lot,
Regards,
Grégoire Leroy

I've been able to find prebuilt virt-io drivers and spice agents for
Windows. Are there any repositories for prebuilt qemu-agent and ovirt

Hi!
I can't find a way to create an isolated virtual network interface in

Any help would be appreciated.

[Users] Clarification - Thin Disk

Hello,
could someone clarify the term "thin disk" in the context of Templates.
Up to now for me a thin disk is space that is allocated on demand.
But if I create VM from a template and use type "Thin" it must be a
little bit different. The newly created VM will operate on the frozen
template data plus some delta file that stores the changed block.
Is that right? Shouldn't that be a "linked-disk"?
Extra question: Why can't I move a (thin provisioned) template disk
and instead have to copy it and delete it afterwards?
Thanks in advance.
Markus

[Users] VirtIO Console Device Enabled option?
by Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
when editing a VM I see in console section that there is an option defined as:
VirtIO Console Device Enabled
By default the checkbox is not selected.
I didn't find clear references to what this option enable/disable
inside the guest...
Thanks in advance for any clarification.

[Users] Bridge w/o IP address?
by Blaster
I want to put multiple VMs on the same hypervisor, some will be Internet
facing, some will be internal facing.
I obviously don't want the hypervisor to be an attack vector, so I don't
want the HV to have an IP address on the DMZ network.
Is this configuration as simple as creating another another bridge like
the ovirtmgmt bridge, not giving it an IP address, and adding it to the
DMZ facing hosts?

[Users] Ubuntu & Debian guest agent
by Sven Kieske
Hi,
I'm currently investigating the use of the guest agent
on the above mentioned operating systems
(12.04.3 lts server for Ubuntu and Debian 7).
The wiki pages seem outdated to me, as it states
for Ubuntu:
"There are binary packages available on launchpad PPA. These packages
are just for demo."
AFAIK there should be somewhere a package with production ready agent
at least for Ubuntu(I saw this mentioned somewhere)?
ATM I'm running engine 3.3.1 but plan to upgrade to 3.3.2, once RC gets
released on Monday.
Are there any known limitations in combining different agent/vdsm/engine
versions?
Can someone point me to some more accurate and up-to-date information
than these?

Hi Folks,

of a freebsd9/10 vm displayed in the ovirt engine interface like it is with
linux guests?
Cheers,
