(= same hardware, some node version 2.3.0) "Migration failed due to Error: Could not connect to peer host" (WebGui) Thread-2474::ERROR::2013-05-01 13:58:08,007::SecureXMLRPCServer::73::root::= (handle_error) client ('172.16.101.102', 60836) (vdsm log on target host) I remember there was a bug in this scenario where I had to uncomment the li= ne in /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf: listen_tls =3D 0 --> #listen_tls =3D 0 Rebooted the new HV in maintenance mode, the config setup persisted, but the problem also persists... Unfortunately I had the same issue in the past, but I just documented the s= etting in/etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf as workaround, so it seems something is still missing...? By default the admin portal is on hostname/webadmin/webadmin/WebAdmin.html and user portal on hostname/UserPortal/org.ovirt.engine.ui.userportal.UserPortal/UserPortal.html what are the best directives (apache) to run the applications on adminportal.hostname and userportal.hostname? [Users] Migrating engine-setup to otopi

Hi All Recent development of the otopi [1] framework allows us to migrate the engine-setup, upgrade and cleanup (and potentially other) utilities to implementation as an otopi plugin. Potential benefits of such a move are: 1. Be able to port engine to other distributions. 2. Be able to install engine in a development mode. 3. Be able to customize installation easily. 4. Share installation of components (reports, dwh). 5. Modular implementation, reduce maintenance costs. 6. Code reuse of installer code for multiple purposes (host-deploy, enigne-setup). Currently we are in the process of creating a 'setup' plugin for the otopi, and the progress can be monitored at [2]. The current roadmap for the feature is as follows: 1. Recreate the configuration utilities as plugins in otopi. 2. Support side-by side installation using both the old and the new utilities. 3. Switch to the new utility when the confidence that it is on-par with an old one is high. Our goal is to have the new utilities ready for 3.3 release (at least for the step 2 in the roadmap). We'd like to hear as much feedback as possible, so we could address it as soon as possible. Thanks! [Users] Problem with time zone of a desktop VM

Hello, oVirt 3.2.1 on Fedora 18 all-in-one configuration. I created a Windows XP with wrong time zone (default that is UTC -12 .. why? Don't reply why not, please... ;-) Now if the VM is powered off and I edit it, I can't still change its timezone, because it is greyed out in initial run section. Tried to change inside guest but at next reboot it keeps with same problem. How can I change it after creation? How to change default so that it is not UTC-12 but matches my timezone for every desktop I create? Thanks, Gianluca

Hi, I'm working on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/905754, trying to have Apache proxy in all 3.3 installations. I'm looking in the code and I've found a point where I'm in doubt about how to handle the case. The current engine-setup implementation perform some checks that change the behavior of the installer documented as: 1. Check whether the relevant httpd configuration files were changed, as it's an indication for the setup that the httpd application is being actively used, Therefore we may need to ask (dynamic change) the user whether to override this configuration. 2. Check if IPA is installed and drop port 80/443 support. What the script really do is setting OVERRIDE_HTTPD_CONFIG default to False in both cases and just for case 2 call also setHttpPortsToNonProxyDefault. About 1, if we can consider Apache "owned" by the engine we can drop any question to the user, else I think we need to ask what to do or abort the setup considering the configuration as unsupported. About 2, it seems that the best solution for that is to abort the setup if IPA is found on the same system where we're installing the engine. [Users] ovirt-shell can not connect

Hi, I can not connect to the ovirt-shell. When I type: ovirt-shell -c I get the following message: error: __init__() got an unexpected keyword argument 'validate_cert_chain' my .ovirtshellrc is: [ovirt-shell] username = admin@internal url = https//127.0.0.1:443/api insecure = False filter = False timeout = -1 dont_validate_cert_chain = False password = xxxxx I'm using the rpm package: ovirt-engine-cli-3.2.0.10-1.el6.noarch Has anyone an idea? Unfortunately I don't have the option to unpause , the commands shutdown/po= wer off/start are all failing. Makes sense as the VM isn't running on any hypervisor anymore, so it must be a DB entry which has been set by the engine? [Users] NFS domain and LVM

Hi, I just rebooted my NFS server which hosts a ISO domain which is used by RHEV 3.1 and oVirt 3.2. In both environments the ISO domain became inactive and I tried to activate it again. In RHEV this worked fine, but in oVirt it didn't. Just for your information: both - RHEV and oVirt use "Local on host" as datacenter storage type. I normally use a local NFS server and mount the share locally (dc with storage type NFS) as "Local on host" is making troubles in most of my setups (in both - oVirt and RHEV) and the issues are mainly missing (sometimes lost) volume groups. As my oVirt 3.2 setup is a testing environment and my test vms are still running, I'll keep it in this state for finding a solution for this. [Users] deploy without engine.conf.defaults?

I compiled the latest source yesterday, but I met a problem in deploying it. I used old env-variable: ENGINE_DEFAULTS=/home/demo/gittest/virtfan-ovirt/backend/manager/conf/engine.conf.defaults and engine.conf.defaults had content like this: ENGINE_USR=/usr/share/ovirt-engine ENGINE_ETC=/etc/ovirt-engine When I ran standalone.sh, it just tell me that I need more variables like ENGINE_PKI_ENGINE_STORE and etc.. What should I add exactly?

[Users] Logical Networks and hosts

I have assigned a logical network to a cluster in a data center.I assigned a host host1 to this cluster. I then created a second data center DC2 with cluster DC2. The DC2 cluster has no logical networks assigned to it,but I am still able to assign host1 to this cluster.Is this working as designed? Thanks, Lee
