problems "coupling" freeipa-4.1.1 with ovirt-engine-3.4
by Moritz Baumann

Hi,
I don't see any users in ovirt after running
engine-manage-domains add --domain=EXAMPLE.ORG --provider=ipa \
- --user=baumadm --add-permissions
only the user baumadm(a)example.org is shown with an enabled=False.
Ipa appears to be setup correct since I can use a
ipa-client-install --mkhomedir
on the ovirt-engine host and login with the created users.
Best,
Moritz

[VOTE NEEDED] oVirt meetings schedule change proposal
by Sandro Bonazzola
Hi,
last oVirt sync meeting was skipped and the previous one was at risk due to a bit of confusion on DST changes.
oVirt sync meeting is the only meeting we have bound to UTC without DST changes.
Current scheduled meeting list is available here: http://www.ovirt.org/Meetings#Meeting_Time_and_Place
We don't have a reference timezone, we use: UTC, EDT, Asia/Jerusalem.
The UTC time zone has been deemed obsolete. It has been replaced by Etc/UTC and it doesn't use DST.
EDT is currently not observed in North America since DST isn't active. Locations are currently observing EST instead.
Asia/Jerusalem is following DST changes.
I suggest to unify the reference timezone.
Since it seems that using UTC causes issues in re-scheduling other local timezone tasks, I guess best solution is to follow the DST changes.
As nearest to UTC following DST I suggest Europe/London as timezone.
Comments are welcome.

http://www.ovirt.org/Features/ForemanIntegration
by ybronhei
For those who interested, I merged the pages ForemanIntegration and
AdvancedForemanIntegration to ease the search.
The page includes full description about the current integration we have
with foreman [aka satellite\katello], the future plans, how to setup
environment for testing and production and more illustrations to make it
easier to follow
feel free to comment about that (directly to me or to the list) and you
more than welcome to try that at home :)
Thanks

Re: [ovirt-users] hosted engine on iSCSI deep dive
by jplorier@gmail.com
Hi,
First thanks for the video. Though I have a question about the setup. I
don't see any options regarding multipath. You are connecting directly to
the iscsi lun, but most of the times the connection is redundant and
multipathd needs to be configured in order to have redundancy.
Is it a future enhancement or multipath is done behind scene? If it's
taking care of it, what about special configs for the device in the
multipath.conf?

error to run VM
by Halimaton Saadiah
Hello I am using ovirt-engine version 3.4 , currently having problems to
run VM, and get error VM Debian is down. Exit message: child quit during
startup handshake: Input/output error.
Before this, I manage to run VM Debian then after installation complete , I
shut it down and when run it back I unable to run it back as it mentioned
the error "cannot run VM low disk space on target storage domain
local_storage."
I do check my server df -h , yes I have too much space on the root
partition where all the ovirt-engine setup was there, but we have more
unused space at /home partition, then what I do after that we copy the
images(iso file) for that particular vm into the /home partition then
rename it according to path stated at the ISO_DOMAIN.
By doing all the process I can't manage to run the VM yet and get the error
message stated that "VM Debian is down. Exit message: child quit during
startup handshake: Input/output error."
Is there anyone can help us to solve this problems, or give us the solution
that we can figure out on how can we run the VM.
Thank you in advance.

upgrade glusterfs under ovirt

Hi,
I see that glusterfs 3.6 has released.
What is the official way to upgrade this under a production ovirt cluster?
Can I use the "yum update" command or I need to switch to the host to maintenance and select "reinstall" button?
Thanks
Tibor
