Failure on last step of ovirt hosted engine
by Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I am following the guide "up and running with ovirt 3.5" but with iscsi and
not glusterfs.
On the last step (after I have already installed ovirt-engine in the vm)
the script has stopped due to an error.
So the ovirt hosted vm is not registered in the datacenter and iscsi
storage is not seen by datacenter.
I am trying to use ovirt gui to register it manually without luck.
Can someone tell me how to repeat the last step of the script?
Thanks,
Mario

Ovirt on CentOS 7
by Subba Rao
Hi,
I have 2 Dell Poweredge servers which are not connected to the network.
We are trying to create a Virtual lab using these 2 servers and a couple
of Cisco switches. I have installed Centos 7 with the "Virtualization"
option. Now I would like to use Ovirt as the Hypervisor/VM management
tool.
Since my servers are not connected to any network, how/what should I
download from Ovirt and install on the system. I did download ELServer
rpm for noarch and x86-64 directories. For Ovirt to work, I need to
install this manually without the network. How can I get this to work?
Thank you in advance for any help.

I see frequents errors in the vdsm log on one of the gluster servers in my
gluster cluster. Can anyone suggest a way to troubleshoot this, the host
is fine in the ovirt console and gluster functions ok. The Gluster cluster
is a replica 2, with 2 hosts. I am trying to add another host to move to
replica 3 but having trouble and this error seems to cause any changes to
the cluster to fail with unexpected errors in ovirt.
-Thanks, Alastair

Hi users,
I'm installing ovirt with hosted engine following this documentation
http://community.redhat.com/blog/2014/03/up-and-running-with-ovirt-3-4/
I've successfully created the vm that will host the engine, but at the end
of the installer, I have this kind of error message
(1, 2, 3)[1]:
[ INFO ] Engine replied: DB Up!Welcome to Health Status!

and bootstrap installation logs.
[ ERROR ] Unable to add hosted_engine_1 to the manager
Please shutdown the VM allowing the system to launch it as a
monitored service.
The system will wait until the VM is down.
then I manage to shutdown the vm that hosting the engine, then I get this
message
Enabling and starting HA services

Preview of a snapshot in the past: unable to open spice console
by Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
I have a CentOS 7 VM.
I make a snaphost at 16:40 with memory included.
Then at 17:05 shutdown VM and preview of the snapshot.
VM starts ok and initialy is at 16:40 (no ntp at the moment and no
ovrti-guest=-agent inside VM, only spice-vdagent and qemu-guest-agent)
When I try to open a spice console (that before preview worked ok) I get an
error window
Error while executing action SetVmTicket: Unexpected exception
and in webadmin gui:
user admin failed to initiate a console session for VM c7
in vdsm.log I get the error below.
I think it could depend on time set at VM level...
Thread-19::DEBUG::2014-11-23

Actually even if I set the correct time inside VM I get the same error..
Note that I'm using qemu from virt-preview qemu-2.1.2-6.fc20.x86_64 but
when I was using the Active VM before the preview spice console worked ok...
Is this expected to not being able to open spice console in a snapshot
preview?
