Convert vmware vm
by Massimo Mad
Hello,
I downloaded an image .vmdk from a repository and wanted to import it into
my oVirt infrastructure.
Is it possible?
If it is possible how?
Thanks,
Massimo

Lowering cluster CPU level : safe?
by Nicolas Ecarnot
Hi,
I'm trying to add some Westmere hosts into a Sandybridge cluster, and of
course, they get refused :
"Host xxxxxxxxx moved to Non-Operational state as host does not meet the
cluster's minimum CPU level. Missing CPU features : model_SandyBridge"
I tried to lower the cluster level but I get this warning :
"Change Cluster CPU level
There are running VMs. Lowering the Cluster CPU level might prevent
migration of these VMs to some of the Hosts in the Cluster. Are you sure
you want to continue?"
As a frightened chicken, I clicked "Cancel" and turned to you : how safe
is it to lower the CPU level?
I understand some instructions will be missing, and maybe performance
will change, but we don't have heavy CPU usage yet, so this may not be a
big issue.
I was wondering what will happen to my existing VMs?
Will I have to modify some setup?
What may prevent migration between westmere and sandybridge hosts?
Regards,

Does anyone know if there is already an RFE for EC2 as an external provider?

status disks locked
by Andy Michielsen
Hello,
I have a vm in my ovirt setup which has it's disks locked after I wanted to
take a snapshot.
I have a separate node and an engine and already rebooted them both but it
still keeps on telling me it's disks are locked. Where does this info come
from and what can I do to rectify the situation.
Kind regards.

Can HA Agent control NFS Mount?
by Andrew Lau
Hi,
I was just wondering, within the whole complexity of hosted-engine.
Would it be possible for the hosted-engine ha-agent control the mount
point?
I'm basing this off a few people I've been talking to who have their
NFS server running on the same host that the hosted-engine servers are
running. Most normally also running that on top of gluster.
The main motive for this, is currently if the nfs server is running on
the localhost and the server goes for a clean shutdown it will hang
because the nfs mount is hard mounted and as the nfs server has gone
away, we're stuck at an infinite hold waiting for it to cleanly
unmount (which it never will)
If it's possible for instead one of the ha components to unmount this
nfs mount when it shuts down, this could potentially prevent this.
There are other alternatives and I know this is not the "supported"
scenario, but just hoping to bounce a few ideas.
Thanks,
Andrew

[QE] Hardening Guide
by Sandro Bonazzola
Hi,
while I was working on Bug 1097022 - ovirt-engine-setup: weak default passwords for PostgreSQL database users
I was wondering where to write hardening tips described in comment #18.
It looks like we don't have any page on oVirt wiki about hardening.
Anyone interested in contributing to such page?
I guess it can be created as http://www.ovirt.org/OVirt_Hardening_Guide
Thoughts?

It also appears to occur on the other hosts in the cluster, except the
host which is running the hosted-engine. So right now 3 servers, it
shows up twice in the engine UI.
The engine VM continues to run peacefully, without any issues on the
host which doesn't have that error.
Any ideas?
