ovirt 4 reboot behaviour

Hi,
I noticed a different behaviour after upgrading my entire setup from
rhev 3.6.9 to rhev 4.0.5.
A virtual machine reboot changes the host where the VM is running, also
if the VM was started in "run once" mode with a payload specifying a
placement policy. In version 3 the VM didn't change host across a
reboot; and continued running in run once mode, keeping the same payload
given at start time.
Is there a way to keep the VM running on the same host across a reboot,
excluding the obvious (but time consuming) way of migration after reboot?
If not (but this is a request for enhancement), is it possible to
introduce a payload for reboot (just like for "start") to specify the
placement policy?

GSoC 2017 - my name is Marcin

Hello all,
I am studying Computer Science at the University of Brighton (UK). I am
interested in participating in Google Summer of Code 2017 with oVirt. I am
a web security and anonymity enthusiast, tried to work with the Tor Project
for GSoC 2016 but it did not work out.
I have gained a lot of related experience during university, internship and
my freelancing work, I could use this experience in your suggested projects:
* VMs: I have experience with vSphere and deploying VMs of test clients in
the company that I am doing my internship for
* Ansible: I have created multiple playbooks for installing monitoring on
test clients: Nagios, Graylog etc. (both on Windows, Linux [Ubuntu, RHEL]
* my main interest is back-end web development, have been doing that for 3
years professionally, as well as projects on my own. Can provide with
portfolio and customers' reviews
* I also have some experience with automation in general: testing,
installation of services etc.
I think that with those skills I could try working on below two projects
from the proposed list:
* "Host reservation system for testing multiple oVirt instances"
* "Ansible playbooks for oVirt deployment with remote resources"
I have experience with Linux, have been using Ubuntu for 4 years on my PC
and at work and in projects, and prefer it for development and server
management.

Ravi, do you know what this can cause?
Also when in extensions.d directory contain the following files. If I
remove mydomain.lan-authn.properties then in web ui FreeIPA domain not
showing up in drop down list. Any http don't have influence on this.
That is correct behavior, we dont show profiles, which uses http for authn.
[root@vhe00 extensions.d]# pwd
/etc/ovirt-engine/extensions.d
[root@vhe00 extensions.d]# ls
mydomain.lan-authn.properties mydomain.lan-http-authn.properties
mydomain.lan.properties internal-authz.properties

If possible clarify how it should be and what is possible issue.
Can you please take a look to /var/log/httpd/ssl_error_log if any errors
there?

to 4.1 with cluster/dc compatibility currently still set to 3.6? Or
do I need to upgrade compatibility level first?
IIRC upgrade to 4.0 required at least compatibility 3.6.

gdeploy error

Hi,
I am a new sys admin and trying to install glusterfs using gdeploy, I
started with a simple script to enable a service(ntpd).
gdeploy --version
gdeploy 2.0.1
[root@ovirt1 gdeploy]# cat ntp.conf
[hosts]
ovirt1
[service1]
action=enable
service=ntpd
[service2]
action=start
service=ntpd
The issue is that the gdeploy is returning error
fatal: [ovirt1]: FAILED! => {"failed": true, "msg": "module (setup) is
missing interpreter line"}
Is there a simple way to debug or figure out how to fix this error?

Two Problems On New Install

Hi Everyone,
I recently installed oVirt 4.0 on two servers with an iSCSI
backstore, and I'm having two issues I'm having trouble tracking down.
First, the initial datastore that the hosted engine is running on won't
connect. It just says "Unattached" in the GUI, and I can't find an
error message anywhere. Not a huge deal, it just means I can't see the
hosted engine itself in the GUI.
More importantly: I can't migrate VMs. They fail with errors like
this in the vdsm.log of the destination host:

If I shut the VM down and start it on the host it works fine, it just
