Why do users with UserRole see all VMs
by Andrew X
Hi Everyone,
Whenever I add a new user and give them system permission with the
UserRole, they can see all VMs in the data center. I can only control what
VMs a user have access to if their role to access the system was set to
PowerUserRole.
I've tried this on fresh installs and still the same result - with both
internal and LDAP users.
Can someone help to let me know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

unstable Ovirt Cluster
by Boaz Yarom
: 1.0.7
hi,
We have a cluster of 20 hosts running ovirt 4.1.7 . And it became unstable.
the data is stored on an HP Apllo 4530, with freeNAS and a cahce drive
(optene) , a 10G network between hosts
the problems we see:
HE is jumping between hosts and crashes all the time, and even
more when global maintenance is disabled.
Another issue is that vms get cpu stuck messages. And hang for
10-20 seconds.
looking at freenas/apollo dashboards shows that it is fairly idle.
when global maintenance is disabled engine log shows it is restarted by
ovirt very often
any suggestions as for where / what to look for ?

Upgrade from oVirt engine 3.6 to 4.0 - clean install of OS?
by jaherring@usa.net
I have oVirt 3.6 running on CentOS 7 (one engine, two hosts). Upgrading to 4.0 seems to require a fresh, bare install of CentOS7 on the engine machine - is this a correct reading of the upgrade guide? It seems bizarre to me I have to wipe a perfectly fine running CentOS7 machine to do this - that seems so Microsoft.
Say it isn't so...

Hosted Engine VM fails to start after upgrade from 4.2 to 4.3
by dbrandon.johnson@gmail.com
I just upgraded an ovirt cluster (hosts and engine) from oVirt 4.2 to 4.3. After I finished upgrading the hosts from 4.2 to 4.3 engine stopped working and now it will not start. Looking at VDSM it is looking for a path that isn't getting mounted by the hosted engine when I try to connect storage and start the VM.
VDSM log:
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/aOi4aDMMNmDqpD72SdcI0A
the path that it is mounting at is: /rhev/data-center/mnt/glusterSD/hyper2-gluster.storage.open-tec.net:_engine and I think it is expecting /rhev/data-center/00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Any help on this would be appreciated.

HE doesn't install under nested virtualization
by Hetz Ben Hamo
I'm to setup an oVirt enviroment using virt-manager on Fedora 29 to record
some videos. For that - I'm using nested virtualization.
The problem - after it's setting the HE - it goes up and down like crazy (I
defined the email setting to get all the messages) until it gives up.
enclosed - a gzipped vdsm.log.

oVirt Cloud Init CentOS not setting password
by Robert Crawford
So I've checked the "Use CloudInit/Sysprep" and set the root user & password but it doesn't seem to apply.
I can't login after setting it and also running "Run Once" as well.
