Should we remove direct luns from VM before creating snapshots?

We know that now oVirt doesn't make snapshot for direct lun.
Please consider this scenario:
I have a VM with total 2 disks: the os image disk is created on the nfs domain, while the other one is a direct lun disk.
Now I'd like to create a snapshot,
1. should I remove the direct lun disk first, then make a snapshot?
2. If I don't remove the direct lun disk, oVirt will exclude it automatically, and snapshot can also be created successfully. But I have no idea if this is supported by oVirt, please anyone can make some comments?

Change the cluster with hosted engine

Hello,
I need to create a windows 10 virtual machine, but an error message
appears :
The ovirt installation is fresh in 4.2.8 version with an hosted engine.
At the hosted engine installation, there was no question where we can
specify the cluster cpu. It should be great if in a future version it
could be.
I have created a new cluster with an SandBridge Family CPU type but now
I need to move the hosted engine into this new cluster.
To move a vm to another cluster the VM should be stopped. But if i power
off the hosted engine, I will not be able to move the VM.
Maybe there is a solution without create another cluster ...
Is there someone who have an idea to do this ?

Hj Drew,
For the test change the gluster parameter nfs.disabled to false.
Something like gluster volume set volname nfs.dsiable false
Then use shownount -e gluster-node-fqdn
Note: NFS might not be allowed in the firewall.
Then add this NFS domain (don't forget to remove the gluster storage domain before that) and do your tests.
If it works well, you will have to switch off nfs.disable and deploy NFS Ganesha:
gluster volume reset volname nfs.disable

oVirt 4.3.1 with AD creates new user at every login

I just did a clean install of oVirt 4.3.1 (engine and nodes).
I setup AD authentication and gave an AD group permissions needed work with
VMs. I gave them PowerUserRole on the Cluster and Storage.
Users in the AD group can login and create VMs but after they log out and
log back in they don't see any of the VMs created in the previous session.
I noticed that in Administration -> Users a new row is created for each
user every time they login. All columns for each user are the same: same
first and last name, same user name, authorization provider, and so on but
the behavior looks very much like they are being treated as new user every
time they login.
Any idea what may be causing this?

missing firewalld services on ovirt engine

Hi.
I've just converted my standalone ovirt engine from iptables to
firewalld. The configuration of the internal zone includes:

> <port protocol="tcp" port="54323"/>
I'm wondering why the ovirt ports for 2222, 6100, 7410, and 54323 etc.
aren't encapsulated in a service file installed by ovirt? Is this
because I had initially installed iptables? I suspect the answer is no
because on my ovirt hosts (which I also converted to firewalld), I was
able to find all the proper service files:

> <service name="cockpit"/>
> <service name="libvirt-tls"/>
> <service name="snmp"/>

Hi all,
I can't login to the hypervisor, neither as root nor as admin, neither from=

I'm sure I remember the passwords. This is not the first time it happens: l=

Logical Volume extend failed

Hello,
[Context :
I'm moving all my VMs from an old 3.6 DC to a brand new 4.3 DC.
For local reasons, I'm doing it using an export domain, and one by one.
]
Today, for no obvious reason, error messages began to appear :
"
VDSM SPM-servername command failed: Logical Volume extend failed
"
Lots of similar errors appear in the engine log, with no obvious
additional hint.
In the VDSM log, I'm not skilled enough to see what's wrong either.

It may come from one of our storage domain that was close to full, but I
freed 200Go space since, and the issue keeps appearing.
Now, my attempts to export a VM are failing.
I still can stop and start a VM.
(I'm not completely relaxed with this situation.)

but I'm not sure it is related.
I can psql-query and check things if needed, but I mostly need advices.
