[Users] Domain not found with windows7
by Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I am continuing tests with ovirt.
Now I am trying windows7. I started without using virt-io.
It worked for one day. Then the windows7 vm goes automatically on stated
"paused" and there is no way to reenable it.
Only way is to delete and recreate. So I did it.
Now I cannot shutdown it. It blocks on "powering down" state and I cannot
restart nor delete it.
The error is:
VM windows7ok is down. Exit message: Domain not found: no domain with
matching uuid 'fc8c63dd-fff0-4592-aded-8344cd74fd88
Thanks,
Mario

[Users] Disk state - Illegal?
by Dan Ferris
Hi,
I have another hopefully simple question.
One VM that I am trying to remove says that it's disk state is "illegal"
and when I try to remove the disk it says that it failed to initiate the
removing of the disk.
Is there an easy way to get rid of these illegal disk images?

[Users] Kickstarting the VM's -- new ovirt user
by Hunter Matthews
All,
I'm working on my first ovirt setup and have managed to get to the point where I have a VM running. Most of my VM's
will be centos-6.x and I already have a DHCP/PXE/kickstart environment for that.
Is there a way in ovirt to specify what MAC address a new VM will get? Or is there another way to accomplish this?
(I could care less about the specific MAC thats just what I use on bare hardware to id which server is which.)

[Users] Host installation failed ovirt 3.2
by Sven Kieske
Hi,
Today I got the following error, adding a CentOS 6.4 minimal
to an Gluster based Datacenter:
Everything is ok and installed fine, until I get this error in
the "events" from webadmin:
"Failed to install Host server4. Failed to execute stage 'Closing up':
Command '/sbin/service' failed to execute."
"Host server4 installation failed. Command returned failure code 1
during SSH session 'root(a)vroot4.vrootdev'."
Here is an excerpt from the corresponding host-deploy log
it seems to be iptables related?
Any Hints?

[Users] Guest to guest multicast
by Frank Wall
Hi,
I'm trying to use the VRRP protocol between two VMs, but the multicast
traffic never gets through. On the oVirt host I can see the VRRP
advertisements coming in for both VMs:
aio:~# tcpdump -n -X -i vnet3 net 224.0.0.0/4
listening on vnet3, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535
bytes
18:58:31.841220 IP 10.1.2.3 > 224.0.0.18: VRRPv2, Advertisement, vrid 1,
prio 0, authtype none, intvl 1s, length 36
aio:~# tcpdump -n -X -i vnet8 net 224.0.0.0/4
listening on vnet8, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535
bytes
19:02:26.907054 IP 10.1.2.4 > 224.0.0.18: VRRPv2, Advertisement, vrid 1,
prio 100, authtype none, intvl 1s, length 36
What is required to enable guest-to-guest multicast communication on an
oVirt node?
Thanks

I've tried restarting the SPM Hypervisor and the Ovirt Engine. Still no dice. Which host would have the lock? Where should I look for log files?

[Users] virt-io drivers for windows xp
by Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I am testing ovirt and now I have tried to install a windows xp image.
I used standard options but:
- with spice display mouse is unusable, solved using vnc;
- anyway all drivers (net, vga, others) are missing.
I have found a virt-io iso but it does not work.
Where can I find an ISO with all drivers for ovirt?
Thanks,
Mario
