Hello, I'm new to this list and I need help installing a self hosted engine I've installed CentOS 6.5 and oVirt 3.4. [Users] oVirt 3.4.0 remove node problem

Hi all, Upgrade my oVirt yesterday from 3.3.4 to 3.4.0.. For my surprise, the node of 3.3 not running in 3.4 (Cluster version) Ok... move to maintenance and upgrade :P But... Maintenance not is running for 10+ minutes.. (No live migration progress) I restart the ovirt-engine and live migration running and node is maintenance mode.. (nice!!) But.............. (yes, again)... remove the node from ovirt engine not is possible, this message error in engine.log: http://pastebin.com/CfTeHepv PS: sorry for my english.. [Users] ovirt 3.3 vnic profile with bonding & vlans problem

Hi, I am attempting a little test with vnic profiles. The network setup is as following: eth0 and eth1 -> bond0 -> bond0.X (vlan) -> vm_net According to http://www.ovirt.org/Features/Network_QoS#VDSM libvirt version 1.0.1 or higher is needed, but this can't be true because of 2 things: 1. it works for downloads 2. http://libvirt.org/formatnetwork.html#elementQoS states: "The <bandwidth> element allows setting quality of service for a particular network (since 0.9.4)" Any help would be greatly appreciated. So... It is possible for a fully automatic migration of the VM to another hypervisor in case Storage connection fails? How can we make this happen? Because for the moment, when we tested the situation they stayed in pause state. (Test situation: - Unplug the 2 fibre cables from the hypervisor - VM's go in pause state - VM's stayed in pause state until the failure was solved ) They only returned when we restored the fiber connection to the Hypervisor... [Users] Single Sign On in guest Windows 7 and XP

Hi, I was trying to add GINASSO in XP with ovirtguestservice started. I did that as GinaSSO/Reame.txt said. But I failed to autologin as a domain user. I'd already add ovirt and guest XP to the ActiveDirectory. What should I do then to make it right?

[Users] windows VM console

Hi all, I recently imported in oVirt a Windows 2003R2 VM which previously ran on virt-manager/libvirt/KVM. All right (almost). The only weirdness is that I'm unable to have a VNC or SPICE console. Clicking the green terminal icon in webadmin makes me download a .rdp file regardless of what I have set in the VM's definition. Can anyone tell me what controls the production of a .rdp instead of a .vv? I think this has something to do with virt-v2v because other windows VM directly created in oVirt behave properly. What could I investigate more? Which config file? TIA, Giorgio.

Dear All, Due our acceptance testing, we discovered something. (Document will follow). When we disable one fiber path, no problem multipath finds it way no pings are lost. BUT when we disabled both the fiber paths (so one of the storage domain is gone on this host, but still available on the other host), vms go in paused mode... He chooses a new SPM (can we speed this up?), put's the host in non-responsive (can we speed this up, more important) and the VM's stay on Paused mode... I would expect that they would be migrated (yes, HA is enabled) to the other host and reboot there... Any solution? We are still using oVirt 3.3.1 , but we are planning a upgrade to 3.4 after the easter holiday. Kind Regards, Koen

Hello! 3.3.3 migrated to latest stable 3.4.0 3 nodes F19 KVM Version:1.4.2 - 15.fc19 LIBVIRT Version:libvirt-1.0.5.9-1.fc19 VDSM Version:libvirt-1.0.5.9-1.fc19 oVirt Engine Version: 3.4.0-1.fc19 Upgraded took place with 3 Vm up and 2 down: first upgraded engine,then after freeing one node at a time node of and updating it. After upgrade when I try to run any of the 2 powered down machines, I get "VM ......... is down. Exit message: 'int' object has no attribute 'replace'." Any ideas?

[Users] virt-manager migration

Quick background: I have a number of hosts already running SL6.5 and have been using virt-manager with them for some time. All of the guests are by-id fiber channel LUNs. I'm attempting to migrate from virt-manager to oVirt. I'll be dropping my SAN array and migrating all of the LUNs to a gluster system, which will be exporting the images to my blades over SCST or LIO. FC is what i already have and won't saturate my network as opposed to trying to use the 1Gbs network cards. Gluster is being used for redundancy and geo-replication, but not image hosting to the hosts. Anyway, long story short. I'm having a difficult time finding documentation on migrating from virt-manager to oVirt. As well as installing ovirt-nodes manually. I'd love to find this perfect world where I can just install the ovirt-node RPMs on my already running Hosts and begin to have them managed by the oVirt engine. Without and serious downtime. Any suggestions or pointers to documentation would be great. Even comments as to making this transition smoother or approaching it differently are appreciated. thanks, -jj-

[Users] VM-List gone after upgrade to 3.4

Hi, today I upgraded from 3.3.4 to 3.4 aus discribed in the release notes. Then executed "engine-setup" which finished without error. Though I can see the running VMs in the according tab on each node (Hosts -> Node -> Tab: Virtual Machines) I don't see anything in the "Virtual Machines" tab (System-> Virtual Machines). It just keeps loading forever. So currently I cannot view any VM that just has been created or is stopped. Is this a bug or did I miss something? Cheers, Stefan

Hi, the oVirt Integration Team is pleased to present the features that will be targeted to oVirt 3.5.0 release. We are going to add iSCSI support to Hosted Engine allowing you to use an iSCSI target for the Hosted Engine data domain [1]. This will allow users to avoid to create an NFS share just for Hosted Engine when all other VMs will use iSCSI storage. We're also going to work on engine-setup allowing to distribute loads on different servers (or VMs) allowing to deploy oVirt Web Socket Proxy [2], oVirt DWH [3] and oVirt Reports [4] on different hosts. Last but not least, we're going to prepare an oVirt Windows Guest Tools ISO [5] providing agents and drivers for Windows VMs. Are you interested in any of these feature? Do you want to get involved? Hello, I'm trying oVirt allinone version 3.3.3 and after the upgrade to 3.4.0 the virtual machines do not start using spice client (linux or windows). I'm using centos 6.5. The message displayed is "unable to connect to server console.vv graphics." Can someone help me? thank you NG
