After the upgrad, I'm unable to log in, I'm getting the following error: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target Where should I look to correct that ?

engine-backup and messages in web admin events pane

Hello, having oVirt Engine Version: 4.0.0.6-1.el7.centos, when I run on engine VM a command like # engine-backup --mode=backup --scope=all --file=/root/engine-backup.archive_$(date +%d-%m-%Y) --log=/root/engine-backup_$(date +%d-%m-%Y).log Backing up: Notifying engine - Files - Engine database 'engine' - DWH database 'ovirt_engine_history' Packing into file '/root/engine-backup.archive_09-08-2016' Notifying engine Done. I see then that in engine web admin events pane I only have rows of kind: Finished Started without any reference to what... ovirt-ha-agent and too many open files error

Hello, I have a 4.0 test environment (single host with self hosted engine) where I have 6 VMs defined (5 running) and no much activity. I do't monitor this system very much. Now I have connected to it to evaluate upgrade to 4.0.1 and see that about 15 days ago the ovirt-ha-agent died because of too many open files.... It seems very strange to have reached this limit I presume the agent runs as vdsm user and that the oVirt installation creates the file /etc/security/limits.d/99-vdsm.conf with # This limits are intended for medium VDSM hosts, for large hosts scale these # numbers appropriately. # nproc should be the maximum amount of storage operations usage. # VMs run by "qemu" user, vm processes are not relavent to "vdsm" user limits. vdsm - nproc 4096 # nofile should be at least 3(stdin,stdour,stderr) * each external process. # 3 * 4096 = 12288 vdsm - nofile 12288 As a rough estimation (over estimation actually , due to many duplicates) I have now: # lsof -u vdsm | wc -l 488 Anything else to check? 3.6 : Hosted_Storage unattached

Hi, I installed a new node with a new hosted engine, version 3.6, added a data domain, but I can't see the hosted_storage. oVirt 4 and Gluster network

Hi, We have setup an oVirt 4 cluster using Gluster as storage backend. I've setup a separate 10 Gb Network for Gluster traffic and tried to use that network as written in : https://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/network/select-ne… But I'm not able to find the "Edit - Brick" menu to be able to set the IP to use for existing bricks. Is this not implemented yet? The feature status says "done". I've been able to create new bricks using that network and it seems the traffic is going trough the right nics. Hosted Engine Storage Domain Stuck and no Volumes tab?

So this is on 4.0.1, Fedora 23, the engine is running fine on glusterfs, on a 3 replica arbiter 1 volume, the hosted_engine attached storage domain is *stuck* in offline, wondernig if there is anyway to fix that? Since the domain cannot be managed inside the engine. Also I have gluster enabled for one of my clusters but I'm missing a volumes tab to manage the gluster volumes? The hosts, when putting them into maintenaince, I have the option to turn off gluster... I know in 3.5-3.6 volume management was a feature, did this change? Thanks, Dan

Cannot locate vdsm package, possible cause is incorrect channels

I have ovirt engine 3.6 on centos 6.5 and tried to add centos 6.5 host. I used the command below to install the host yum localinstall http://plain.resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release36.rpm The ovirt repo are listed below. I tried to uncomment out the baseurl, still got the same issue. Any idea? It looks to me it failed to find the vdsm pkgs. management interface

Team, Is it possible to move the ovirt management interface to a separate vlan and keep it from been on the same interface as my LAN? IE: assign a tag to ovirtmanagement and keep another interface as untag for my LAN to use with the VM's Thoughts ideas? TIA! 2 NIC Configuration

Hello Everyone, I am new to oVirt actively, however I am a long time follower. I apologize if this question has been asked before but i am not finding good info on it or I am looking in the worng place or search terms are poor. I have installed oVirt on a Dell SC1435 Server with 16 gb of ram and a 1 tb drive. It also has 2 nics however I am only seeing one in the Web UI, how would I go about adding my second NIC to this configration? My reasoning for this NIC 1 is used for VM communication and internet and NIC 2 is used for Storage and management. Hopefully that makes sense. I've tried to redeploy the hosted-engine but this will fail since the host already exists in the management DB. I've tried to redeploy the host using the GUI when editing the Host and set DEPLOY at Hosted Engine but in that case the Event just says the configuration was updated but nothing happens. I've tried to redeploy the host using the GUI when editing the Host and set DEPLOY at Hosted Engine but in that case the Event just says the configuration was updated but nothing happens. Is there a way to check if the host is registered as hosted-engine host? How could I register it correctly? Let me know if you need any logs. Thanks for any hint. VM storage issue after snapshot deletion

Hi everyone. I'm having an issue with a VM after initiating a snapshot deletion. Shortly after the deletion started the VM was paused and has not recovered since, this was over 12 hours ago. I've dug into the logs and here's some things that jumped out at me: engine.log Message: VM XXXXXX has been paused due to unknown storage error. vdsm.log Improbable extension request for volume cb180795-1da8-4a4c-90a9-b42d00485018 on domain 0243ebd9-fd3f-4674-b4e7-05af734280e7, pausing the VM to avoid corruptions (capacity: 53687091200, allocated: 5750586880, physical: 1073741824, next physical size: 2147483648) The vdsm.log line I've quoted is repeated approximately every 2 seconds from the first occurrence and is still going. I've attached engine.log and uploaded vdsm.log to my server [1] as it was 10M. The VM in question has the ID 184f89f4-8427-4a28-8787-8912f5c5f038. The VM is still paused and cannot be resumed, seemingly as a precaution to avoid corruption. Is there anything I can do to recover the data on the disk? All help is greatly appreciated. Error when editing host network

I'm using oVirt Engine Version: 4.0.0.6-1.el7.centos and wanted to connect an LDAP server. I went looking for engine-manage-domains on the engine machine but it seems to be missing. Any ideas? Thanks, Clint

No VMs to import

Hello, now that gluster 3.7.14 is out I was able to change the storage domains mount from NFS back to GlusterFS. The first domain worked flawlessly this way: set domain to maintenance -> detach -> remove -> import Domain (this time GlusterFS) -> import VMs The other storage domain works too, but in the gui is no tab Import VMs or Import Disks. Is there any other way to rescan/reimport VMs on this storage domain? Hi, I try to install the hosted_engine on 3 Servers which host also the gluster data storage. When I install now the hosted_engine, which storage path should I use? Setup 1: server1: server1.san:/hosted_engine server2: server1.san:/hosted_engine server3: server1.san:/hosted_engine Setup 2: server1: localhost:/hosted_engine server2: localhost:/hosted_engine server3: localhost:/hosted_engine Setup 3: /etc/hosts: 127.0.0.1 gluster server1: gluster:/hosted_engine server2: gluster:/hosted_engine server3: gluster:/hosted_engine Other Setup? What is the best practice there?

Multipath iSCSI with several IPs

Hello, I want to add an iSCSI based storage domain. For that I add a domain on the Storage tab with one of the IPs (say 10.10.10.1), but for failover purposes I'd like to use multipath to add a failover IP so if the first one fails, LUNs can be reached via the second (say 10.10.10.2). How can this be done in oVirt 4.0.1? I have not seen a way how to add the second IP for multipath purposes. Thank you James
