Ovirt tasks "stuck"
by Jim Kusznir
Hi:
A few days ago I attempted to create a new VM from one of the
ovirt-image-repository images. I haven't really figured out how to use
this reliably yet, and in this case, while trying to import an image, one
of my nodes spontaneously rebooted (or at least, it looked like that to
ovirt...Not sure if it had an OOM issue or something else). I assume it
was the node that got the task of importing those images, as ever since
then (several days now), on my management screen under "Tasks" it shows the
attempted imports, still stuck in "processing". I'm quite certain its not
actually processing. I do believe it used some of my storage up in the
partially downloaded images, though (they do show up as
GlanceDisk-<numbers>, with a status of "Locked" under the main Disks tab.
How do I "properly" recover from this (abort the task and delete the
partial download)?
Thanks!

collectd, fluentd, ...
by Troels Arvin
Hello,
Setup: RHV 4.1 with full RHEL 7 servers as hypervisor hosts.
I noticed an "Update available" symbol for all the hypervisor hosts.
Running "yum update" on the hosts themselves didn't list any pending
updates.
Running "check for available updates" on the hosts in the RHV web
interface resulted in a long list of software which RHV would like to
add, it seems, see below.
What's all that, and is it really needed?
The packages:

cannot change cluster compatibility level

I have a cluster of hosts that have just been upgraded to oVirt 4.1
however I am receiving an error from the engine when I attempt to
upgrade the cluster compatibility level.
Error while executing action: Cannot edit Cluster if some of the
specified custom properties are not configured by the system. The keys
are: macspoof
Does anybody know how to resolve this? I don't see any settings related
to MAC spoofing in the cluster configuration options.

Ovirt Node 4.1.1.1 installation, engine on gluster, existing disk sdb not found or filtered, deployment fails
by Oliver Dietzel
Hi,
i try to set up a 3 node gluster based ovirt cluster, following this guide:
https://www.ovirt.org/blog/2017/04/up-and-running-with-ovirt-4-1-and-glus...
oVirt nodes were installed with all disks available in the system, installer limited to use only /dev/sda (both sda and sdb are HPE logical volumes on a p410 raid controller)
Glusterfs deployment fails in the last step before engine setup:
PLAY RECAP *********************************************************************
hv1.iw : ok=1 changed=1 unreachable=0 failed=0
hv2.iw : ok=1 changed=1 unreachable=0 failed=0
hv3.iw : ok=1 changed=1 unreachable=0 failed=0
PLAY [gluster_servers] *********************************************************
TASK [Clean up filesystem signature] *******************************************
skipping: [hv1.iw] => (item=/dev/sdb)
skipping: [hv2.iw] => (item=/dev/sdb)
skipping: [hv3.iw] => (item=/dev/sdb)
TASK [Create Physical Volume] **************************************************
failed: [hv3.iw] (item=/dev/sdb) => {"failed": true, "failed_when_result": true, "item": "/dev/sdb", "msg": " Device /dev/sdb not found (or ignored by filtering).\n", "rc": 5}
failed: [hv1.iw] (item=/dev/sdb) => {"failed": true, "failed_when_result": true, "item": "/dev/sdb", "msg": " Device /dev/sdb not found (or ignored by filtering).\n", "rc": 5}
failed: [hv2.iw] (item=/dev/sdb) => {"failed": true, "failed_when_result": true, "item": "/dev/sdb", "msg": " Device /dev/sdb not found (or ignored by filtering).\n", "rc": 5}
But: /dev/sdb exists on all hosts
[root@hv1 ~]# lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda 8:0 0 136,7G 0 disk
...
sdb 8:16 0 558,9G 0 disk
└─3600508b1001c350a2c1748b0a0ff3860 253:5 0 558,9G 0 mpath
What can i do to make this work?

Error importing old NFS storage domain
by Endre Karlson
I have a existing NFS storage domain I would like to import.
I add the Name attribute and set the path and hit Enter but it gives me
"Error while executing actions Attach Storage Domain: Internal Engine
Error".
I checked the Engine logs too to see if there's any clue when I do it but I
cant seem to find anything. Maybe I can attach it here?

Resolving host non_responsive
by Alan Griffiths
Hi,
Following a short network outage a couple of HE hosts are reported as
non_responsive in the engine. Storage was not affected and the VMs continue
to run on those hosts. Is it possible to bring the hosts back under
management without disrupting the running of the VMs? Is it as simple as
confirming host has rebooted?
Thanks,
Alan

problems with events.list
by Fabrice Bacchella
I'm looking for some specific events with the following code:
last_event = int(events_service.list(max=1)[0].id)
print "last_event %d" % last_event
....
start an check upgrade
....
print "search %s" % search
while True:
founds = events_service.list(
from_= last_event + 1,
search=search,
)
if len(founds) > 0:
break
time.sleep(wait)
If search is host.name=..., it works.
With search host.id=..., it can't find any events.
I was unable to find a filter for the events :
host.name=XXX and (type=885 or type=839 or type=886 or type=887)
host.name=XXX and (code=885 or code=839 or code=886 or code=887)
host.name=XXX and type=885 or type=839 or type=886 or type=887
host.name=XXX and code=885 or code=839 or code=886 or code=887
What should be the right search string ?

Hi list!
I need to move a direct LUN from ISCSI storage to FC storage.
I have one ISCSI SAN and one FC SAN connected to my ovirt environment.
I need to migrate all my data from the ISCSI SAN to the FC SAN.
It is no problem to move the images from ISCSI to FC however i also have
direct LUN:s attached from the ISCSI SAN that i need to move to FC however
when i mark the direct LUN the "move" button is greyed out? How do i move
the direct LUN?
