Hello, I have found that I can import thin-provisioned VMs from VMWare ESXi into an oVirt (3.6 Hosted-Engine) iSCSI storage domain as thin-provisioned VMs by doing the following : 1 . Import the thin-provisioned VMWare VM into an NFS storage domain. 2. Export the thin-provisioned VM from the NFS storage domain.into the oVirt Export domain. 3. Import the thin-provisioned VM into an iSCSI Storage Domain from the oVirt Export domain Is there a simpler way to do this using the 3.6 Import capability ? Or, do we need to follow the above procedure to get VMs into oVirt from VMWare as thin-provisioned VMs ? Thank You For Your Help !

Hi, >From the logs it looks like a permission issue: ssh-keygen: /proc/self/fd/0: Permission denied Cannot generate ssh pubkey out of certificate Can you please also attach vdsm and messages logs from the host. 3.6 : Hosted engine High Availability

Hi, I'm trying to "deploy" the hosted engine (3.6) on a second node for HA. I used hosted-engine --delpoy, answering the script questions it's a new host setup. However it is requesting me for a FQDN, an engine name and a password for admin@internal. Is this a normal behavior ? It seems very strange to me that the configuration isn't taken from the hosted engine storage, do you think I forgot a step ? Thanks in advance

unable to update to 4.0

Hi All, I have Ovirt 3.6.7 installed and running. However, when attempting to update to 4.0 I receive this error when running engine-setup. Failed to execute stage 'Setup validation': Trying to upgrade from unsupported versions: 3.5 I find this pretty strange as I haven't run 3.5 in a long time and can confirm that I'm running 3.6.7. VM Live Migration issues

Hi, In our setup we have configured two hosts, both of same CPU type, same amount of memory and Master storage domain is created on iSCSI storage and is live. I created a single VM with Ubuntu Trusty as OS. It installed properly and when I attempted to migrate the running VM, the migration failed. Engine log, Host 1 log and Host 2 logs are attached for your reference. Since logs are running into several MBs, I have compressed them and attached here. how to debug no audio in guest?

Hello, I'm testing video and audio capacity inside a guest. Guest chosen is CentOS 6 with latest updates. oVirt is 3.6.6 on an intel NUC6i5SYH with CentOS 7.2 OS BTW: is it of any importance audio adapter on the host? In case lspci on host gives 00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Device 9d70 (rev 21) Client connecting from user portal is Fedora 23 on an Asus laptop U36SD where audio works and lspci gives 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05) On CentOS 6 guest the audio adapter detected by OS with lspci is 00:08.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01) It seems all ok, apart that on guest actually I don't get any audio, also from test speakers page ;-) Both on guest and on client the volume bar is near the maximum. Any hints about debugging? >From host point of view the qemu-kvm command line is this one below I don't understand the env variable QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none ??? If it can be of any importance, I initially configured the guest without sound card and in fact in gnome I saw the audio card as "dummy". Then I powered off the guest and enabled sound card from user portal edit vm (I see it enabled also from admin portal btw...) and then powered on the VM. Hosted engine on gluster problem

There seems to be a pretty severe bug with using hosted engine on gluster. If the host that was used as the initial hosted-engine --deploy host goes away, the engine VM wil crash and cannot be restarted until the host comes back. This is regardless of which host the engine was currently running. The issue seems to be buried in the bowels of VDSM and is not an issue with gluster itself. The gluster filesystem is still accessable from the host that was running the engine. The issue has been submitted to bugzilla but the fix is some way off (4.1). Can my hosted engine be converted to use NFS (using the gluster NFS server on the same filesystem) without rebuilding my hosted engine (ie change domainType=glusterfs to domainType=nfs)? What effect would that have on the hosted-engine storage domain inside oVirt, ie would the same filesystem be mounted twice or would it just break. Will this actually fix the problem, does it have the same issue when the hosted engine is on NFS?
