What about oVirt-Node-NG ? I don't really like to make much changes on oVirt-Node image, but wanted to hear from whoever may have done that and are having good and stable results. And if so if there is a way to build an install image with one of those newer kernels. [Python-SDK][Ovirt-4.0] Create VM on specific Host.

Hi, I was trying to create VM on specific HOST using python sdk as shown below. ------ Code ------------------- vm = vms_service.add( .... host = types.Host( name = "host-01", ), ) ------ End Code ------------------- It created VM successfully, but when I see in ovirt GUI I saw that VM is not bonded with specific host. Ovirt GUI: Virtual Machines -> click on VM -> "Edit" button -> In advance menu -> "Host" tab Start Running On: o Any Host in Cluster <== This option got selected o Specific Host(s) <== *I want this option to select.* Please help me to bind VM to specific Host via Python SDK Thanks, ~Rohit

Problem adding Labels to Bonds on big clusters

Hi, I currently have some trouble adding a label to a bond on an host. The problem seems to come from the number of Vlans (108 in that label) and the number of hosts (160 in 4 cluster). As far as I can tell the process gets finished on the node (all the network configurations are there in the log), but ovirt seems to fail sometime after the node has nothing to do anymore. The Logs gives me a timeout error for the configuration command. Does anyone know how to encrease the timeout or fix that problem an other way? The exact same setup with only 80 vlan and 120 hosts in 3 cluster is running fine. Cheers Marcel

I am glad its works. btw the vdsm user is exists you can see it in /etc/passwd but it have no shell login so the ssh key generation will be in /var/ (which mean it may not survive reboot). the instruction for the ssh are for Xen but the instruction in the section "importing-vm" are working for kvm as well. PXELinux BIOS reboot loop on Ubuntu 16.04

When I have build a successfull host using Foreman it gets the PXE Menu showed in the attachment. This menu with the first option selected gets into a reboot loop: Chanload into bootloader on the first disk When I manually switch to: Chanload into bootloader on the first disk - alternative the host boots as normal. Why does this happens just at once on Debian/Ubuntu and not on Fedora/CentOS ?

Hi guys, I just installed oVirt 4.1 - works great! But the questing is, we have around 50 existing kvm hosts, is it really possible during adding them to oVirt add all VMs from them to oVirt? Second options I see - import disks to oVirts and re-create machines Thanks for the help.

storage redundancy in Ovirt

Hi guys, I have one nfs storage, it's connected through host1. host2 also has access to it, I can easily migrate vms between them. The question is - if host1 is down - all infrastructure is down, since all traffic goes through host1, is there any way in oVirt to use redundant storage? Only glusterfs? Thanks

Empty ovirt engine web pages

Hello, I have installed ovirt engine from source and installed all other required packages also, including ovirt-js-dependencies.But when I am login to the admin account I am getting blank page everytime. Some other pages are also coming empty sometime. options for fence_ipmilan?

hi, i'm trying to make fencing (via ipmilan) work with a ipmi user with only "OPERATOR" privileges. Storage latency message

I've been getting an occasional message like: Storage domain hosted_storage experienced a high latency of 5.26121 seconds from host node3. I'm not sure what is causing them though. I look at my storage (EqualLogic iSCSI SAN) and storage network switches and don't see any issues. When the above message was logged, node3 was not hosting the engine (doesn't even have engine HA installed), nor was it the SPM, so why would it have even been accessing the hosted_storage domain?
