Hi! I've got an existing Grafana installation and would like to integrate our ovirt/rhev infrastructure. How could I do that? Thanks for any advice, Markus

It's the client's browser settings , but I think it's easier to either change the certificate to something that will be trusted, or to just import it. Hi All, So I managed to get the noVNC console to work. Hello Sahina, Sandro, I have noticed that the ACL issue with Gluster (https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/issues/876) is happening to multiple oVirt users (so far at least 5) and I think that this issue needs greater attention. Adding iSCSI Target IP Address to Existing Storage Data Domain

Hi! Do you have suggestions if we can add a new iSCSI target IP address to an existing Storage Data Domain? Earlier, we had an issue where the storage device unexpectedly rebooted. It has 3 IP addresses used for iSCSI connections. For oVirt, we're connected to that storage device using 1 iSCSI Target IP address. The problem is that the adapters are down for that IP. What we're trying to do is to add the other IP addresses to connect to the LUNs/devices. Do you think simply logging in to the target will help? I've checked on previous threads and it was suggested that the storage data domain should be detached first then re-add using the new IP address. Thank you very much

KeyCloak Integration

Hi Everybody, So I have implemented KeyCloak into our oVirt environment, which works, up until a point. So WebUI access works, but when calling the API, using: curl -k -H "Accept: application/json" 'https://virt.example.co.za/ovirt-engine/sso/oauth/token?grant_type=password…' I get the below error: {"error_description":"Cannot authenticate user Invalid scopes: ovirt-app-api ovirt-ext=revoke:revoke-all ovirt-ext=token-info:authz-search ovirt-ext=token-info:public-authz-search ovirt-ext=token-info:validate ovirt-ext=token:password-access.","error":"access_denied"} If my configs are removed, and I use "admin@internal" for my username, then it works. Update to Ovirt 4.3.10-4-1 causes XFS issue

Hi All I think I have come across this bug: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/5075561 Updating Ovirt to 4.3.10 shows that the kernel installed on the hosts is the version that has the issue: 3.10.0-1127.8.2.el7.x86_64 The RedHat article suggests updating to kernel-3.10.0-1127.10.1.el7 but running engine-upgrade-check now shows no updates available from my engine manager. Is this something I can fix myself or would the updated kernel be available? Appreciate the advice as new to Ovirt. Normally I would point the hosts to the new kernel but I think it should be updated through Ovirt manager, correct? Thanks! Chaz

Host has time-drift of xxx seconds

Hello All, I have a strange error that should be fixed but the event log is still filling with the following after the latest patching (4.3.10): Host ovirt2.localdomain has time-drift of 2909848 seconds while maximum configured value is 300 seconds. Host ovirt3.localdomain has time-drift of 2909848 seconds while maximum configured value is 300 seconds. As it blamed only 2 out of 3 systems, I checked what has happened on ovirt1 and that one was far behind the other servers. Once I fixed the issue, I kept receiving those errors despite tthe fact that I fixed the time drift on ovirt1 several days ago. Currently the hosts and the engine are OK, but I got no idea how to 'fix' the issue. I have also noticed that the 2 errors had a date of 2 PM which is not possible with my current timezone. Issues with Gluster Domain

Hello, I recently added 6 hosts to an existing oVirt compute/gluster cluster. Prior to this attempted addition, my cluster had 3 Hypervisor hosts and 3 gluster bricks which made up a single gluster volume (replica 3 volume) . I added the additional hosts and made a brick on 3 of the new hosts and attempted to make a new replica 3 volume. I had difficulty creating the new volume. So, I decided that I would make a new compute/gluster cluster for each set of 3 new hosts. I removed the 6 new hosts from the existing oVirt Compute/Gluster Cluster leaving the 3 original hosts in place with their bricks. At that point my original bricks went down and came back up . The volume showed entries that needed healing. At that point I ran gluster volume heal images3 full, etc. The volume shows no unhealed entries. I also corrected some peer errors. However, I am unable to copy disks, move disks to another domain, export disks, etc. It appears that the engine cannot locate disks properly and I get storage I/O errors. I have detached and removed the oVirt Storage Domain. I reimported the domain and imported 2 VMs, But the VM disks exhibit the same behaviour and won't run from the hard disk. So I think I have narrowed it down to the OVN settings. The only problem now is, is that when I want to update the OVN settings, it fails with “Failed to communicate with External Provider. See logs for details” When checking the logs, I see an error stating the “root hostname does not match” (In the OVN settings via the WebUI, I see that it also points to the old hostname) A bit of background on this, when the engine was initially built, it was configured with a different hostname, which was then changed, but somehow it is still referencing the old hostname. When I run the change hostname scripts (/usr/share/ovirt-engine/setup/bin/ovirt-engine-rename) it runs through everything, until it needs to modify the certs. (I have attached the screenshot) I am really not sure where to go from here, and I believe that most of this has to do with the certs (And I am just grasping at straws here) I am starting to think that it would just be easier to deploy everything from scratch, but if anybody has any ideas, I would appreciate it. Cannot authenticate user Invalid scopes: ovirt-app-api

Hi All, A new issue 😊 We have configured oVirt to use KeyCloak for authentication. This all works, I can log into the WebUI etc, but as soon as I need to talk to the API, it gives me the “invalid scopes” error. I have double checked KeyCloak, and the scopes are added. I went through the logs, but there is nothing telling me exactly what the actual cause is. I get the below when trying to get a token from the engine: “{"error_code":"access_denied","error":"Cannot authenticate user Invalid scopes: ovirt-app-api ovirt-ext=token-info:authz-search ovirt-ext=token-info:public-authz-search ovirt-ext=token-info:validate ovirt-ext=token:password-access."}” Does anybody have any idea where this is going wrong? Shutting be down kvm host does what to VMs

I have a single ovirt host running 2 VMs. If I do a shutdown -h now on the kvm host will ovirt do a similar shutdown command on the VMs? And wait for them to shutdown before finishing it's shutdown? Please do not tell me I should have 2 physical hosts. I know but it's not in the clients budget. Thanks, Louis

cant edit ISO domain in any way

oVirt 4.3: Okay, I found documentation that I cant have more than one "ISO" type storage domain. I can kinda understand that. But, I cant even edit or delete the existing one? Even when logged in to the oVirt GUI as admin@internal? Is this some kind of bug or something?

Information requested on oVirt + RDO/OpenStack

I am hoping to try out adding RDO to oVirt after things with CentOS 8.2 settle down. I've done deployments of RDO on KVM before without any issues (TripleO Quickstart), but this would be my first time trying it on oVirt. Since oVirt recently updated to the openstack-java 3.2.9 packages, is there a specific version of OpenStack (Train or Ussuri) that runs on CentOS 8.x that I need? Are there any issues with the fact that oVirt already uses and/or provides some OpenStack services? Does the fact that OpenStack deployments are now more "containerized" present any issues I should be aware of? Are there initiatives for further convergence between oVirt, RDO/OpenStack and OKD/OCP that are changing this space where it would make sense to follow and/or participate in those efforts? I'm starting out with oVirt to get an understanding of the capabilities that it brings to the table, but interested in the convergence of the other technologies that would benefit from having oVirt as, or a part of, the foundation. Ansible ovirt_disk module: how to attach disk without activation

Hello, root problem in a 4.3.8 environment is that sometimes when I hot add a floating disk to a VM in web admin gui, it attaches and also activates it by default (the flag is checked by default, but you can uncheck it) and this two-phases action fails as a single step. What I get is: VDSM ovhost command HotPlugDiskVDS failed: Requested operation is not valid: Domain already contains a disk with that address And then the VM event regarding hot add disk failure. I'm going to investigate more: it should be a past bug already solved in theory by my libvirt sw version (I've to crosscheck its id)... but I still get the error sometimes. What programmatically works is to attach the disk without activating it (this step always completes with success) and then activate the disk as a separate operation (this one typically fails the first time when I have the "problematic" situation, but then the second time succeeds). So I would like to use it as a workaround in the mean time. The problem reflects using the ansible module ovirt_disk, that by default activates the disk. So I have tried to specify "activate: no" (introduced in 2.8, readings the docs) when I attach it, but it seems not to work as expected. help: renamed master volume

Im pretty new to ovirt. Trying to upgrade an old install from 4.1 to 4.3 on the way, I browsed into the Storage area, in one of the nodes. Noticed under the "Volume groups", area that the volumes were named after some loong ID string. Saw there was a "rename" button. figured it would be just like renaming a VM. thigns would just get auto adjusted. but after I renamed to something in english, the cluster is freaking out, "cant find master domain: u'spUUID=xxxxxxx, msdUUID=xxxxxxx' " and under Storage: Storage DOmains, the Data(Master) is down. How can I recover from this ASAP? :-(
