Hi all, Upcoming in 3.6 is enhancement for managing the hosted engine VM. Host Node3 cannot access the Storage Domain(s) <UNKNOWN> attached to the Data Center Default. Setting Host state to Non-Operational. Hello I'm trying to put one of my ovirt host ( whcih is also the ovirt-engine) into maintenance mode but i receive this error: Error while executing action: Cannot switch Host OvirtHome to Maintenance mode. Image transfer is in progress for the following (5) disks: b6338adf-a43b-4051-9bc0-7bb436876b5e, b8aa8ac8-e4bf-4a31-bd6f-02a33e04f8c6, f8548d7b-40c4-4d1e-9b21-8d4aa4966fff, 3626520b-ba03-452a-833f-4e4d48215047, 4b3242d0-73f6-46c5-99ac-9bac86b4ab41 Please wait for the operations to complete and try again I start does transfert from command line ans they failed, how can i delete the reference to those from the linux command line ? Host ends up non-operational after trying to add it to cluster

Hello all, I am building a small two-host oVirt cluster and am experiencing problems adding in the second host. The engine log shows a message saying it is marking the host as non-operational due to it not meeting minimum CPU requirements. However, both hosts are the using the same i7-4770 model CPUs. For some reason, oVirt detects them as the same model but the "CPU Type" from ost1 is listed as "Intel Haswell-noTSX IBRS SSBD Family" while host2's CPU Type is listed as "Intel Haswell-noTSX Family". The two computers are supposedly the exact same model from Dell with the same hardware in them. Local Storage domain to Shared

Hello all, I have a few nodes with local storage, and I've considered exporting them via NFS to migrate into shared storage, more than a few times. I have thought of this post on the ovirt-users list many times: https://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2017-December/085521.html Is this procedure documented & fully supported? Or is it something that just happens to work? The instructions provided by Gianluca seem very clear. If this isn't documented better, ie: a blog for the site, what are the things that I should include to make it of value for going on the site? Thanks, Matt

oVirt-4.2: HE rebooting continuously and 2 hosts non-operatinal

Hey! I'm facing a problem with oVirt-4.2 HE. The HE is rebooting continuously. I tried accessing the VM through the VNC console. But it is not responding. 2 hosts are also Non-Operational. I tried debugging, but couldn't resolve it Though I found a few errors. Error in the agent log for one of the non-operational hosts - http://pastebin.test.redhat.com/721991 Error in the broker log - http://pastebin.test.redhat.com/721990 Also, I couldn't see the brick mounted on the non-op hosts. oVirt Node install failed

You can use subscription-manager to register. Cannot upload enabled repos report, is this client registered? Does anyone know how to fix this?

AIC JBOD RAID Disks automatically going offline under OVirt?

Hi, We are facing weird issue. We have a AIC JBOD with Ovirt Node installed. This Node is added under Ovirt engine. We faced issues related to RAID Disks going offline two times, 1) OVA Import from VMWare ESXi to OVirt 2) Delete existing OVirt VM which is in shutdown state In both these cases, suddenly Disks from RAID array (which we are using as Fiber Channel under OVirt) go offline. Can anybody please help what can be done in this case?

glusterevents daemon fails after upgrade from 4.2.8 to 4.3

Hi, OK thanks! I saw that after upgrading to 4.0.5 from 4.0.4 the DB already dropped with around 500MB directly and is now at 2GB smaller. Does this sounds familiar to you with other settings in 4.0.5 ? Hi, I'm a newbe with ovirt, I've install on my test machine ovirt with self hosted engine with nfs storage. I'm tryng to execute <engine-iso-uploader upload -i ISO /tmp/ubuntu-18.04-desktop-amd64.iso> and the execution is very slow, approx 2 hour, but I don't know why, any suggestion? You need to login on the engine and use 'ovirt-aaa-jdbc-tool' to create your user and assign a password. Once you have the user, you can assign roles to it via the web UI. I guess you can log on ovirt2 and run hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=local && sleep 30 && hosted-engine --vm-status Then reinstall ovirt2 from the web UI and mark the engine for deployment. running engine-setup against postgresql running on non-default port

Hi, I'm running Linux From Scratch and I'm compiling ovirt from source. It all builds and installs fine. However, since I may sometimes run engine-setup from within a chroot on a host that already runs ovirt-engine and postgresql on port 5432, I would like to be able to start a new instance of postgresql on port 55555 inside the chroot, run engine-setup within the same chroot, tell it to connect to postgresql on port 55555, then once set up, I would like to manually change all config files and change postgresql port from 55555 to 5432, so when I transfer this installation to a different computer postgresql will run on 5432 and ovirt-engine (and all the other components) will know to use port 5432. Trouble is, this is easier said than done. Even when I tell engine-setup to connect to 55555 something insists on connecting to 5432: [ INFO ] Installing PostgreSQL uuid-ossp extension into database [ ERROR ] Failed to execute stage 'Misc configuration': could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432"? Gluster setup Problem

I have 3 servers, Node 1 is 3tb /dev/sda, Node 2, 3tb /dev/sdb, node3 3tb /dev/sdb I start the process for gluster deployment. I change node 1 to sda and all the other ones to sdb. Hi! How do you add users to internalz with webadmin? I mean there is add a button in Administration->Users which opens 'Add Users and Groups'-window . Windows has 'Add'- and 'Add and close'- buttons in the bottom. Just can't figure out how they work. Pushing either of those Add-buttons just closes the window. -Juhani

Tracking down high writes in GlusterFS volume

Running an oVirt 4.3 HCI 3-way replica cluster with SSD backed storage. I've noticed that my SSD writes (smart Total_LBAs_Written) are quite high on one particular drive. Specifically I've noticed one volume is much much higher total bytes written than others (despite using less overall space). My volume is writing over 1TB of data per day (by my manual calculation, and with glusterfs profiling) and wearing my SSDs quickly, how can I best determine which VM or process is at fault here? There are 5 low use VMs using the volume in question. I'm attempting to track iostats on each of the vm's individually but so far I'm not seeing anything obvious that would account for 1TB of writes per day that the gluster volume is reporting.

Add compute nodes offline

Hi, when I add compute nodes, I do not intend to add compute nodes to the engine controller without connecting to the external network: An error has occurred during installation of Host node5.test.com: Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: Please verify its path and try again. Do I need to manually download some offline packages in this case?
