oVirt Node 4.2.5.1 vm stuck on "Powering Down"

Hello, vm stuck (on two hosts) I have MySQL VM guest that was stuck in a way that "kill -9" to the MySQL server pid did nothing. from the shell I execute "init 0", this did not shut down the VM. from the ovirt-engine I'm trying to power off the machine, and it is not doing anything. the event shows: > VDSM kvm5 command DestroyVDS failed: Virtual machine destroy error > and: > Failed to power off VM mysql-production (Host: kvm5, User: > admin@internal-authz). > Note, when I list the VM s on the hosts view, I see that that same VM is on two hosts (kvm7 and kvm5). It looks like the VM is stuck on two hosts, in the status "Powering Down" any ideas? Thank you

GlusterFS Storage - Size limited at 2 GB

Hello everyone, I've installed oVirt on 8 nodes of a MacroServer (SuperMicro Microcloud): 7 Nodes with oVirt Node installed and 1 Node with Centos 7 and oVirt installed. The last one works like hypervisor and node. I would use all the storage of all nodes like a Gluster storage, so I've created a new DataCenter, with a Cluster with all nodes inside. Then I've created the volume Gluster (by GUI): Replicated Duplicated version and 4 replicas on all 8 nodes. Than "Optimize for oVirt Storage". For last I've created Domain storage based on volume created before. All works fine but the total storage that is available from Domain is 1.9 GB. I've tried already to force it using these commands: gluster volume GlusterVol limit-usage / 3200GB gluster volume quota GlusterVol limit-usage /data 3200GB At first it seems work but finally when I was installing a VM, I get Full Storage. It seems that it could use only the storage of the node where is instantiated the volume. I would see all the storage distributed and I wish I could use the storage from all nodes. Someone could help me?

Problem with SAN FC and Ovirt 4.2

Hello Guys I install 6 host with Ovirt 4.2 connected via FC to Brocade 300 switch and HP EVA P2000 Storage. Zoning was performed on each SAN switch and when creating a Virtual Disk with 3 LUN, but adding the Storage in OVIRT does not see any LUN. The OVIRT nodes were restarted, the Engine but still does not see the LUNs I have searched for information on how to resolve this issue but I have not had any information. I will appreciate your help in this regard as I have not been able to resolve the issue. Thanks to all Regards Sebastian

Running different minor versions in different clusters?

Hi, I want to ask, if this is a supported Environment, when I have for example the latest 4.2 version running on engine and all hosts in a cluster have an earlier release of 4.2 running? Example: - ovirt engine: 4.2.7 - hosts in cluster A: 4.2.5 - hosts in cluster B: 4.2.7 The engine VM would run in cluster A with the older version. I ask, because we have a very huge ovirt setup, split into different clusters. In one cluster, I would like to have always the latest version and in the others, the upgrade will be done in bigger time-intervals. LG Florian Schmid

help with non-standard LDAP authentication

I am using an LDAP configuration that either does not expose or contain a nsUniqueId value for Groups. Many of the standard schema fieldnames have been changed to contain a company prefix. I managed to update the profiles enough to have the user authentication work properly & search for the LDAP groups now. But I am unable to add the LDAP group due to the following error: Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: null value in column "external_id" violates not-null constraint Detail: Failing row contains (dad4b561-6aaa-4e7c-9887-997ba8142d3f, ADMGROUP, REALM-authz, null, null, o=BASE) I've checked the profiles to see if I could possibly remap the nsUniqueID value for Groups (thinking of using either the gid or dn value), but I do not see how I can have a different value for groups from users. I have seen a similar thread from 3 years ago, but it appeared to have been a different cause. Any advice or suggestions? The main goal I am attempting to achieve is to use an existing LDAP user group to control who has access to the system such that we do not have to add users manually. Thanks, Alan

IP change of a storage domain

Dear All, I have to change an IP address of one of my storage domains. How is safe that? There are a lot of disk what running from what and parts of some running VMs. I thought the whole procedure like this: - stop vms - remove storage domain from inventory - delete storage domain from inventory (is it needed?) - change IP - re-add storage domain as new to inventory - import disks from storage domain Need to re-add disks to VMs as new after the import? Or it will automatically? Is it will a new storage domain in the engine or will same as? - start vms Please check my todo list, where I'm was wrong. Thanks in advance, Regards, Tibor

Changing name and/or IP of gluster bricks

I have an infiniband connection betweeen all three ovirt hosts. I have one gluster drive that goes over the infiniband, but the other one is running over the gigabit link. Is there an easy way to either change the host name of the bricks or change the IP to force the traffic over the infiniband?

ISO Lost Domain

Hello Fellow users, Platform : Ovirt Engine 4.1 Problem : ISO Domain server has crashed. It is a separate NFS server. I am unable to replace the ISO Domain. I have the old one in maintenance but it won't detach. It says. I have a 4.2.7 setup hyperconverged, two deployed VM Engine images and i have 20-30 second network outage. After some pinging to start engine on host 1, then 2, then again 1 Engine image stuck at "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... _" as here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1569827 I stop ha-agent, ha-broker on two hosts (to not trying to start Engine VM), Stop VM via vdsm-client VM destroy vmID="4f169ca9-1854-4e3f-ad57-24445ec08c79" on both hosts, but i have a lock (lease file) anyway .... ISO Domain Problems

Hello Fellow users, Platform : Ovirt Engine 4.1 Problem : ISO Domain server has crashed. It is a separate NFS server. I am unable to replace the ISO Domain. I have the old one in maintenance but it won't detach. It says. VDSM command ActivateStorageDomainVDS failed: Storage domain does not exist: (u'0ad098e9-65e7-494a-90f7-e42949da3f85',) Which is quite true it does not exist.. Any suggestions? Thank you
