help with non-standard LDAP authentication

I am using an LDAP configuration that either does not expose or contain a nsUniqueId value for Groups. Many of the standard schema fieldnames have been changed to contain a company prefix. I managed to update the profiles enough to have the user authentication work properly & search for the LDAP groups now. But I am unable to add the LDAP group due to the following error: Caused by: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: null value in column "external_id" violates not-null constraint Detail: Failing row contains (dad4b561-6aaa-4e7c-9887-997ba8142d3f, ADMGROUP, REALM-authz, null, null, o=BASE) I've checked the profiles to see if I could possibly remap the nsUniqueID value for Groups (thinking of using either the gid or dn value), but I do not see how I can have a different value for groups from users. I have seen a similar thread from 3 years ago, but it appeared to have been a different cause. Any advice or suggestions? The main goal I am attempting to achieve is to use an existing LDAP user group to control who has access to the system such that we do not have to add users manually. Thanks, Alan

IP change of a storage domain

Dear All, I have to change an IP address of one of my storage domains. How is safe that? There are a lot of disk what running from what and parts of some running VMs. I thought the whole procedure like this: - stop vms - remove storage domain from inventory - delete storage domain from inventory (is it needed?) - change IP - re-add storage domain as new to inventory - import disks from storage domain Need to re-add disks to VMs as new after the import? Or it will automatically? Is it will a new storage domain in the engine or will same as? - start vms Please check my todo list, where I'm was wrong. Thanks in advance, Regards, Tibor

Changing name and/or IP of gluster bricks

I have an infiniband connection betweeen all three ovirt hosts. I have one gluster drive that goes over the infiniband, but the other one is running over the gigabit link. Is there an easy way to either change the host name of the bricks or change the IP to force the traffic over the infiniband?

ISO Lost Domain

I have the old one in maintenance but it won't detach. It says. VDSM command DetachStorageDomainVDS failed: Storage domain does not exist: (u'0ad098e9-65e7-494a-90f7-e42949da3f85',) Which is quite true it does not exist.. Any suggestions? Thank you

ovirt engine VM (xfs on sda3) broken, how to fix image?

I have a 4.2.7 setup hyperconverged, two deployed VM Engine images and i have 20-30 second network outage. After some pinging to start engine on host 1, then 2, then again 1 Engine image stuck at "Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)... _" as here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1569827 I stop ha-agent, ha-broker on two hosts (to not trying to start Engine VM), Stop VM via vdsm-client VM destroy vmID="4f169ca9-1854-4e3f-ad57-24445ec08c79" on both hosts, but i have a lock (lease file) anyway .... Upload via GUI to VMSTORE possible but not ISO Domain

Hello, I can successfully upload disks to my Data-Domain ("VMSTORE") which is NFS. I also can upload .iso Files there. (No porblems with SSL or imageio-proxy). Why is the ISO Domain not available for Upload via GUI ? Does a separate ISO Domain still make sense ? The ISO Domain is up and running. Issue with yum update

It could be my repos setup, but not sure. CentOS is the distro. Running yum update, I get the following error and nothing updates: Transaction check error: file /usr/lib64/collectd/write_http.so conflicts between attempted installs of collectd-write_http-5.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 and collectd-5.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 file /usr/lib64/collectd/disk.so conflicts between attempted installs of collectd-disk-5.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 and collectd-5.8.1-1.el7.x86_64 Anything I can check out to resolve this? Hi everyone, The network switch stack used by the oVirt PHX datacenter needs a reboot which is scheduled for tomorrow. It is expected to be a fast task yet it may cut all networking including shared storage access for all of our hypervisors for a couple of minutes. For this reason I'll shut down non-critical services beforehand and pause CI to minimize I/O activity and protect against potential VM disk corruption. Maintenance window: 21.12.2018 20:30 UTC - 21:30 UTC Services that may be unreachable for short periods of time during this outage are: * Package repositories * Glance image repository * Jenkins CI Other services such as the website, gerrit and mailing lists are not affected and will be operating as usual. -- Regards, Evgheni Dereveanchin

If you'd like to try it now, you can run the ovirt-web-ui master (1.5.0-snapshot) container against your engine like so: docker run --rm -it -e ENGINE_URL=https://[OVIRT.ENGINE.FQDN]/ovirt-engine/ -p 3000:3000 ovirtwebui/ovirt-web-ui:master (then navigate to localhost:3000 ...) Dear All, So we've had some major disk corruption on our hosted engine (hardware to blame), and we have taken backups. However, the hosted-engine VM will no longer boot at all, database is thoroughly corrupted, and we need to rebuild the thing. Just a sanity check on the best route: Preamble: VMs are still running fine - only hosted engine affected VMs are distributed across our entire 3 node cluster All 3 nodes are registered as hosted engine candidates 1. Do another hosted-engine --deploy on one of the existing hosts, and then restore the backup into that 2.
