Hi ondra, As you pointed. in your previous mail. The iscsiadm discovered througth 10.11.8.190. It should have probed 10.10.1.1. This may be the root cause. Windows USB Redirection

Hi All, I have Ovirt 4.1 with 3 nodes on top glusterfs, all are running smoothly except USB redirection. I Have 2 VMs: - Windows 2016 64bit - Windows 10 64bit Although both are able to see USB have attached issue. On Past when testing on Windows 7 VM USB redirection was running smoothly. Ovirt remove network from hosted engine

Hi all, When setting up hosted engine setup on top gluster with 3 nodes, I had gluster configured on a separate network interface, as recommended. When I tried later to upload ISO from engine to ISO domain, the engine was not able to upload it since the VM did not have access to the separate storage network. I then added the storage network interface to the hosted engine and ISO upload succeeded. 1st question: do I need to add the network interface to engine in order to upload ISOs? does there exist any alternate way? Then I proceeded to configure bonding for the storage domain, bonding 2 NICs at each server. When trying to set a custom bond of mode=6 (as recommended from gluster) I received a warning that mode0, 5 and 6 cannot be configured since the interface is used from VMs. I also understood that having the storage network assigned to VMs makes it a bridge which decreases performance of networking. When trying to remove the network interface from engine it cannot be done, since the engine is running. 2nd question: Is there a way I can remove the secondary storage network interface from the engine? iSCSI storage domain and multipath when adding node

Hello, my configuration is what described here: http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/users/2017-March/080992.html So I'm using iSCSI multipath and not bonding can anyone reproduce? Initial situation is only one node configured and active with some VMS I go and configure a second node; it tries to activate but networks are not all already mapped and so gies to non operational. I setup all networks and activate the node It happens that: - on the first node where I currently have 2 iSCSI connections and 2multipath lines (with p1p1.100 and p1p2) it is instantiated a new iSCSI SID using interface "default" and in multipath -l output I see now 3 lines - on the newly added node I only see 1 iSCSI SID using interface default My way to solve the situation was to go inside iscsi multipath section do nothing but save the same config brutally on first node iscsiadm -m session -u --> all iscsi sessions are closed after a while I see again the original 2 connections recovered, with correct interface names used - on second node iscsiadm -m session -u --> the only session is cloed nothing happens if I set to maintenance the node and then activate the node --> the 2 correct iscsi sessions are activated... Hi Michael, I'm glad that I could help. Yes, while USB3 has an impressive interface (and thus potential) speed of up to 5 gbps (or over 600 MB/sec) the actual hardware normally provides speeds which for basic DOKs are even under USB 2.0 spec. in most cases (under 60 MB/sec.). However, as I also mentioned, it will only affect the time it takes to load, and from my experience with any decent DOK it's quite OK, you don't even have to invest into ultra-expensive and ultra-fast one, especially if you don't plan to "re-burn" the DOK very often. Access VM Console on a Smart Phone with User Permission

Good day oVirt Users, I need some little help. I have a KVM and used oVirt for the management of VMs. What I want is that my client will log on to their account and access their virtual machine using their Smart phone. I tried to install mOvirt and yes can connect to the console of my machine, but it is only accessible for admin console. Tried to use web console, it downloaded console.vv but can't open it. Hot Memory add and Physical Memory guaranteed

Hello, i just tested the memory hot add to a vm. This vm had 2048 MB. I set the new memory to 2662 MB. I logged into the vm and i've seen that hasn't been any memory change, even if i said to the manager to apply memory expansion immediately. Memory shown by free -m is 1772 MB. Looking around i've found that that value was set in the option called "Physical Memory guaranteed". I tried setting this parameter to an higher value, but is still showing 1772, even if it says that "Memory" parameter will be changed immediately and minAllocatedMemory is changed at next boot. What is the right workflow to hot increase the ram of a vm? Ovirt adding routes

Hi, When installing an ovirt host I got these routes automatically added default dev ovirtmgmt table 2886865805 scope link 172.18.19.128/26 via 172.18.19.141 dev ovirtmgmt table 2886865805 What is their intended purpose? migrating VMS from old hosted engine to new hosted engine

We are moving our VMs from an old 3.6 oVirt platform to a new oVirt 4.1 platform. I am looking for an easy way to migrate the VMs. ( I know about export domain, but this takes 2 times a copy action ) I tested and just detaching the Data domain and attaching it, didn't work. Then I found the VM import option: - Adding a ssh key gen and setting password on virsh - load a list of machines in the webinterface from VM import - when I start an import the system complains: The following VMs retrieved from external server qemu+ssh://root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/system are not in down status: VM [VM-NAME]. - I tried to suspend the VM, but this didn;t work either ( same error ) - Problem is ,when VM is shutdown, it disappears from this system list. hosted engine local disk estimate for OVA file

Hi, I am in the middle of a disaster recovery situation trying to install ovirt 4.1 after a failure of some of our NFS systems. So I was redeploying 4.0 but there is a bug with the image uploader, that means I cant upload images. Our actually virtual machine hosts have very small HD's and the current 4.1 release installer thinks that the OVA extracted is 50GiB, I have exactly 50GB free! yay. So I did manage to hack the installer, to ignore my local disk space as the OVA is really only a few gigs in side. But its been pretty painful. Any chance of some one fixing the estimate there, I have read through the code, there was an attempt to find out the real size but they gave up and just guessed. -bd *tired sysadmin*

Dear All, Is there a reason that a perfectly well working Ovirt 4.1 Engine after a power failure, would not allow the hosts to activate because of "VDSM ConnectStorageServerVDS failed". All firewalls are down, I have reinstalled the host, upgraded everything (host and engine), deleted and reinstalled hosts, I can ssh to all from all. Any clues?? Hi guys, When you want to move your hosted_engine storage you can copy stuff over but you still need to change the image which contains all config files. Is there some documentation about how to do so ? Thanks, Matt

Hello, supposing to have a Linux VM with ovirt-guest-agent installed, during a live snapshot operation it should be freeze of filesystems. Where to find confirmation of correct/successful interaction? /var/log/messages or agent log or other kind of files? Are there any limitations on filesystems that support freeze? Is it fsfreeze the command executed at VM OS level or any other low level command? Thanks, Gianluca
