ovirt-3.6 : Hosted-engine crashed and can't restart

After assigning an IP adress to a VLAN network (it was using DHCP by default) that was on the same NIC than ovirtmgmt, my hosted-engine crashed and can't start again...I have no idea how to fix this. I had a similar issue some months ago but with a different error. I tried to restart the ha agent that seems to be linked with this error, also restarted the host. I also tried to remove the _DIRECT_IO_ lockfile on the engine storage as it fixed my problem last time but it didn't help... Any ideas ? Hosted Engine oVirt 3.6 iscsi multipath

heya-- i have an ovirt 3.6 installation. all my iscsi LUNs are mulipath, however the hostedengine storage is not. i tried to import the hostedengine storage domain into my cluster but got a warning it is controlled via another oVirt cluster. i accepted the warning and imported anyway, but it crashed my hosted engine and hosted-engine broker restarted as expected. i am curious of how to configure multipath for the hosted engine storage domain ? many thanks! --julian

New host HE 4.0 -> [ ERROR ] Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': Specified gateway is not pingable

Hi, I'm trying to add a host to a HE installation but my gateway is not pingable. It's a floating IP which is usable but not pingable in this case. During the first install of the HE I could give any IP to ping and I used a source IP for the floating GW address. What can I do to get around this as the network is OK, even when the GW is not pingable. Any idea is welcome! Thanks!

Migration Failure Due to network

Here are the two Events I can see : Host Hypervisor has network interface which exceeded the defined threshold [95%] (em1: transmit rate[98%], receive rate [4%]) Migration failed (VM: Clone-ubuntu, Source: Hypervisor, Destination: hypervisor22). Any ideas ? It it not the first time I have this kind of network saturation issue... My current temporary setup is this : 2 hosts with only one network physical interface used and assigned to ovirtmgmt, used by all VM. Do migration of a running VM from one host to the other use the network assigned to that VM for migration ? Or does it use ovirtmgmt in all cases ? What minimum network architecture setup would you advice me to avoid this kind of issues ?

It's the fqdn indeed, not it's hostname. Set disk profile

Hi all, I'm trying to set a different profile on a disk. I open the dialog, click new profile and click OK. Seems simple enough. Log says: VMvmname vmname_Disk1 disk was updated by admin@internal. Host non operationnal due to an iSCSI problem

Hi, I just added a second host but it can't become operational, because it can't access to the iSCSI storage domain. My first question : is it normal or not, is RHEV really able to manage the fact an iSCSI LUN can be accessed from multiple hosts ? I don't find anything in the logs, except vdsm logs that seem to give some clue : https://bpaste.net/show/e06a11d79040 It seems there are LVM related errors, so does it mean it can access to the iSCSI ... ? By the way it's a multipath iSCSI. Any ideas ?

Cannot install new host on 4.0, Certificate enrollment failed

I'm trying to install a new host with quite a long fqdn. I didn't had issues earlier but installs seem to fail now. oVirt + Gluster Hyperconverged

Hi folks, I have a few servers with reasonable amount of raw storage but they are 3 with only 8GB of memory each. I wanted to have them with an oVirt Hyperconverged + Gluster mainly to take advantage of the amount of the storage spread between them and have ability to live migrate VMs. Question is: Does running Gluster on the same Hypervisor nodes consumes any significant memory that won't be much left for running VMs ? deploying ovirt 3.6 engine on a glustered storage

Hello, I'm trying to install a new oVirt enviroment at my company but I'm having troubles installing the engine on the /gluster/engine/brick as it is not in replica 3 mode. I want to install it first on 1 host as I have only 1 host available at the moment. Afterwards I will add 2 additional host but I need to get past this replica 3 requirement first now. How can I accomplish this ? Kind regards

centos 7.1 and up & ixgbe

Hi all, Since we upgraded to the latest ovirt node running 7.2, we're seeing that nodes become unavailable after a while. It's running fine, with a couple of VM's on it, untill it becomes non responsive. At that moment it doesn't even respond to ICMP. It'll come back by itself after a while, but oVirt fences the machine before that time and restarts VM's elsewhere. Engine tells me this message: VDSM host09 command failed: Message timeout which can be caused by communication issues Is anyone else experiencing these issues with ixgbe drivers? Hosted Engine 4.0 randomly stopping

Hi, I see an odd behavour on the 4.0 hosted engine, it randomly stops running and needs a new start. What is the solution for this ? There seems to be some settings for the HA-broker to make which will fix it ? Any details are welcome. Thanks, Matt

How can it lead into packet duplication when the passive should not be active and only it's mac-address should be visible on the switch to prevent confusion on the switch ?
