Hi, We are looking for some easy to manage self contained VM hosting. Ovirt with GlusterFS seems to fit that bill perfectly. I installed it and then starting kicking the tires. First results looked promising, but now I can get a VM to pause indefinitely fairly easy: My setup is 3 hosts that are in a Virt and Gluster cluster. Gluster is setup as replica-3. The gluster export is used as the storage domain for the VM's. Now when I start the VM all is good, performance is good enough so we are happy. I then start bonnie++ to generate some load. I have a VM running on host 1, host 2 is SPM and all 3 VM's are seeing some network traffic courtesy of gluster. Now, for fun, suddenly the network on host3 goes bad (iptables -I OUTPUT -m statistic --mode random --probability 0.75 -j REJECT). Some time later I see the guest has a small "hickup", I'm guessing that is when gluster decides host 3 is not allowed to play anymore. No big deal anyway. After a while 25% of packages just isn't good enough for Ovirt anymore, so the host will be fenced. After a reboot *sometimes* the VM will be paused, and even after the gluster self-heal is complete it can not be unpaused, has to be restarted. Is there anything I can do to prevent the VM from being paused? Regards, Sander

Hi, Is gluster hyperconvergence still part of ovirt 3.6? I wanted to test the concept, but the deploy script doesn't give me the option to create a local brick for the VM engine after selecting glusterfs as storage. PS: vdsm-gluster and glusterfs-server are installed, vdsmd service was restarted Regards.

Hi all, how can I mark a VM as shut down when the status of the VM is "?"? There is no qemu-kvm process for this VM on the node. But I can't set the node to maintenance mode, because there is a very important VM running. Best Regards, Michael

I am trying this: I have about 50 vms with disks on different storages.=20 I have tagged some from this vms by tag "migrate_to_new_storage" and=20 then I would like to move all appropriate disks to new storage. It seems = it is not possible from manager (in simple way - it looks like I have to = filter vms by tag, then click on every of them, choose disks tab, select = them, click move,...). It would also be nice to have possibility to filter by tags also with=20 boolean operator "AND" and not just "OR". Feature request: add stateless option in VM pool configuration

I'd like to request a setting in VM pools which forces the VM to be stateless. I see from the docs this will occur if selected under run once, or started from the user portal, but it would be nice to set this for a normal admin start of the VM(s) as well.

Servers Hang at 100% CPU On Migration

oVirt Node - 3.5 - 0.999.201504280931.el7.centos When migrating servers using an iSCSI storage domain, about 75% of the time they will become unresponsive and stuck at 100% CPU after migration. Move DataCenter or Cluster from one engine to another

Is it possible to export a data center from one engine and import it to another? Currently I have an engine running in Europe and a set of nodes comprising a datacenter on the west coast of the US and am seeing communication issues? There are a number of other data centers that the engine in Europe is managing and I'd like to deploy an engine in closer proximity to the nodes for one data center. Has anyone one this? Is it possible? -- Chris

I am having similar problem to you with ovirt and moosefs. My setup, ovirt mounts the mfs mount without problem, it is the mount detection mechanism in python. It is very specifically looking for a pattern to match the mount and failing: I hope this shows what I mean: OSError: [Errno 2] Mount of `mfsmount` at `/rhev/data-center/mnt/mfsmount` does not exist mfsmaster:9421 on /rhev/data-center/mnt/mfsmount type fuse.mfs (rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other) Source = mfsmount in first error out line, and source = ''mfsmaster:9421', and mount.py is trying to pattern match the mount and doesnt compare them correctly and fails. I hope this prods your interest again or helps a little. I will go back to figuring out if I can work around this somehow. Steve Kilduff

Migrating hosts from RHEL6 to RHEL7

I as= sumed it could be done without downtime and one host at a time, but when tr= ying it out I found that RHEL7 hosts can't be placed in the same Cluster as= RHEL6 ones. I then tried making a new Cluster and migrating VMs from the RHEL6 cluster = to RHEL7. Initial testing seems to show that it works from RHEL6 to RHEL7 = but not the other way around. Also when I select this option a warning pop= s up saying "Choosing different cluster may lead to unexpected results. Pl= ease consult documentation." I looked in the Admin Guide and Technical Reference Guide but don't see whe= re these unexpected results are mentioned. we are having the exact same issue with windows 2008r2 server vm on an all aio install on physical sata drives using virtio drives. was not a migration though, installed the vm and drivers from scratch and randoly every 24 to 48 hours the cpu usage maxes out. can only be fixed with a shutdown and start. thanks and regards, grant pasley. xtranet. Hi, My two cents is that shouldn’t be doing mac spoofing protection as a default. There are several use cases where you may use virtual nics defined withing the guest and this feature is going to create problems to users that may not know that there’s a mac spoofing protection withing ovirt. Think of keeaplived vmac option, openvpn and any tap adapter you need to create. If you need to protect against spoofing attacks, you should use the hook or more powerful tools and in any case, you must be aware that you used this kind of protection. Regards,
