Fedora 22 Cloud images - request for testers

Hi I've added two such images to public oVirt glance repository (glance.ovirt.org) 1. Fedora 22 Base Cloud Image 2. Fedora 22 Cloud Atomic Image Both images were taken from https://getfedora.org/en/cloud/download/, the RAW version, as is. I haven't verified they are indeed working properly (importing, creating VMs, running them, cloud-init stuff, etc.). As far as I know they should come without any root password, so the password will only be set via cloud-init. For instructions on how to import those, see http://ovedou.blogspot.com/2014/03/importing-glance-images-as-ovirt.html It would be nice if someone tries them out, and report whether he had some issues. Resize FC LUN in SD

Hi, I'm trying to online resize a FC LUN in a storagedomain, i could resize the LUN on system level and resize the PV on all hosts in my cluster but after a while oVirt set the LUN to "inactive" . Is there a way to inform vdsm to rescan and update the LUN informations? I've read that this feature will be available in version 3.6 but I'm wondering if it would be possible in version 3.5 using some system commands/calls. Thanks for any hint. Rgds, Arsène

Dear Michael, The network scripts look exactly as we did that, and then during setting up the host network we also got the “already enslaved” message which did not cause a problem since it actually was enslaved, afterwards there were proper vdsm generated interface files. Though we have the difference, that the ovirt already showed the bond even when it was not managed by ovirt yet. You can still change the one bonded interface in ovirt and add one additional interface, just drag and drop, put the bridge in and configured the Ips, however, if you want 802.3ad you need to change the switch ports to do 802.3ad as well a little bit after you applied the change, to avoid having to do the switch configuration use “custom” and “mode=5” or “mode=6” Regards Soeren On 07/07/15 01:14, "Prof. Dr. Michael Schefczyk" <michael(a)schefczyk.net> wrote: >Dear Soeren, dear all, > >Thank you very much. Cannot run specific VM in one node

Hi, Was wondering if I can get some help with this particular situation. I have two ovirt cluster nodes. I had a VM running in node2 and tried to move it to node1. The move failed and the machine was created and paused in both nodes. I tried stopping migration, shutting down the machine, etc but none of that worked. So I decided to simply look for the process number and I killed it for that VM. After that, I was not able to get the VM to run in any of the nodes, so I rebooted them both. At this point, the vm will *not* start in node2 at all. When I try to start it, it just sits there and if I do: virsh -r list from the command line, the output says the vm state is "shut off". I am able to user Run Once to fire up the VM in node 1, but I cannot migrate it to node2. How can I clear this problematic state for node 2? Thanks, Diego

Setting VmPool type via ovirtsdk

Hi, I'm defining new VmPools via python code using ovirtSDK along with oVirt v. 3.5.3.1-1. Pool creation seems to work fine, but by default they are created as 'Automatic' and I need them to be 'Manual', however, I can't find out the SDK parameter to do this. Is this currently possible? Stuck removing DataCenter, Hosts and Volumes

Hello List, I have a 2 node replica Gluster Cluster in a Datacenter which i want to remove completely. 1.) I put both nodes in maintenance and removed the DataCenter and the Storage unter the Storage Tab. But now i am stuck removing the Cluster, Hosts and GlusterVolume. a) When i try to remove the Cluster: Error while executing action: Cannot remove Cluster. Host Cluster contains one or more Hosts. b) When i try to remove the hosts: node1: Cannot remove Host. Server having Gluster volume. c) When i try to remove my Volume i get: Error while executing action: Cannot stop Gluster Volume. No up server found in Cluster_II. Any idea how to solve this? Storage question: single node gluster?

Hi There, This is not strictly oVirt, but is storage-related, so hopefully you will indulge me? Is there any detriment (performance or otherwise) in setting up a single-node glusterFS storage? I know glusterFS is designed to be used with multiple nodes, but I am wondering if there are any ill-effects in configuring current storage as a single-node cluster, with the idea of possibly adding future nodes in the future? reinstall hosted-engine with ovirt 3.5?

Due to a moment of idiocy I accidentally upgraded my hosted-engine vm to Fedora 22 and now ovirt-engine will not start, I was able to get postgesql up an running so I was able to make a backup of the engine. As far as I know Ovirt 3.5 is not supported on F22, so my options seem limited. 1, update to the 3.6 prerelease 2, reinstall the VM, if I were doing this I would use CentOS 7 my preference would be to fresh install the hosted-engine. I am guessing the way to go about this would be to shutdown the HE broker and agent daemons on all the nodes, possibly clean the metadata? and the do a hosted engine deploy as though migrating from an external engine. Can anyone comment if this is reasonable? Thanks, -Alastair

Migrate hosted-engine from NFS to ISCSI

Dear list, we are running an ovirt 3.5 cluster with 3 nodes and about 50 vms. The ovirt engine is deployed as a hosted engine with NFS storage. oVirt 3.5 now supports ISCSI as storage backed for the hosted engine and we would like to move our hosted-engine to ISCSI. Is there any way to migrate the existing engine from NFS to ISCSI? If no migration path exists, is there a way to reinstall the engine without disruption to the cluster? best regards, Christoph

Problem with Mac Spoof Filter

Hi, seems like the Setting EnableMACAntiSpoofingFilterRules only applies to the main IP of a VM, additional IP Adresses on Alias Interfaces (eth0:x) are not included in the generated ebtables ruleset. Is there any Workaround / Setting / whatever to allow more than one IP without completly disabling this Filter? Thanks, Juergen

hosted_engine, fencing does not work

Hi. ovirt3.5 Have two servers(node1 and node2) that are runnig Centos6.6. 1. engine on node2. Disables network node1, engine restarts after some time node1 and everything works fine. 2. engine on node1. Disables network node1, engine moved to node2, node1 but does not reset, although attempts. That log messages: 2015-Jul-03, 10:42 Host node1 is not responding. It will stay in Connecting state for a grace period of 120 seconds and after that an attempt to fence the host will be issued. 2015-Jul-03, 10:39 Host node1 is not responding.
