Stuck removing DataCenter, Hosts and Volumes

Hello List, I have a 2 node replica Gluster Cluster in a Datacenter which i want to remove completely. 1.) I put both nodes in maintenance and removed the DataCenter and the Storage unter the Storage Tab. But now i am stuck removing the Cluster, Hosts and GlusterVolume. a) When i try to remove the Cluster: Error while executing action: Cannot remove Cluster. Host Cluster contains one or more Hosts. b) When i try to remove the hosts: node1: Cannot remove Host. Server having Gluster volume. c) When i try to remove my Volume i get: Error while executing action: Cannot stop Gluster Volume. No up server found in Cluster_II. Any idea how to solve this? Storage question: single node gluster?

Hi There, This is not strictly oVirt, but is storage-related, so hopefully you will indulge me? Is there any detriment (performance or otherwise) in setting up a single-node glusterFS storage? I know glusterFS is designed to be used with multiple nodes, but I am wondering if there are any ill-effects in configuring current storage as a single-node cluster, with the idea of possibly adding future nodes in the future? reinstall hosted-engine with ovirt 3.5?

Due to a moment of idiocy I accidentally upgraded my hosted-engine vm to Fedora 22 and now ovirt-engine will not start, I was able to get postgesql up an running so I was able to make a backup of the engine. As far as I know Ovirt 3.5 is not supported on F22, so my options seem limited. 1, update to the 3.6 prerelease 2, reinstall the VM, if I were doing this I would use CentOS 7 my preference would be to fresh install the hosted-engine. I am guessing the way to go about this would be to shutdown the HE broker and agent daemons on all the nodes, possibly clean the metadata? and the do a hosted engine deploy as though migrating from an external engine. Can anyone comment if this is reasonable? Thanks, -Alastair

Migrate hosted-engine from NFS to ISCSI

Dear list, we are running an ovirt 3.5 cluster with 3 nodes and about 50 vms. The ovirt engine is deployed as a hosted engine with NFS storage. oVirt 3.5 now supports ISCSI as storage backed for the hosted engine and we would like to move our hosted-engine to ISCSI. Is there any way to migrate the existing engine from NFS to ISCSI? If no migration path exists, is there a way to reinstall the engine without disruption to the cluster? best regards, Christoph

Problem with Mac Spoof Filter

Hi, seems like the Setting EnableMACAntiSpoofingFilterRules only applies to the main IP of a VM, additional IP Adresses on Alias Interfaces (eth0:x) are not included in the generated ebtables ruleset. Is there any Workaround / Setting / whatever to allow more than one IP without completly disabling this Filter? Thanks, Juergen

hosted_engine, fencing does not work

Hi. ovirt3.5 Have two servers(node1 and node2) that are runnig Centos6.6. 1. engine on node2. Disables network node1, engine restarts after some time node1 and everything works fine. 2. engine on node1. Disables network node1, engine moved to node2, node1 but does not reset, although attempts. That log messages: 2015-Jul-03, 10:42 Host node1 is not responding. It will stay in Connecting state for a grace period of 120 seconds and after that an attempt to fence the host will be issued. 2015-Jul-03, 10:39 Host node1 is not responding. It will stay in Connecting state for a grace period of 120 seconds and after that an attempt to fence the host will be issued. 2015-Jul-03, 10:36 Host node1 is not responding. IPV6 on vms

Virtual machines with ipv4 only works well without problems.=20 But I have lot of issues with ipv6 on virtual machines. When I turn on=20 virtual machine it works well (ipv4 and ipv6). But when I migrate vm=20 than ipv6 simply stop works. Time to time works well but I don't known=20 why .... My bridges are bonded interfaces with vlans. I search Internet for this issue and I found some information about=20 issues with multicast on bridge (I try to set few parameters but without = positive results ... ). Internal Engine Error while adding a new (distribute glusterfs) Storage Domain

Hello, I created (through oVirt web) a GlusterFS distributed volume with four bricks. ovirt-Node + hosted engine question

Hi All. As I was perusing my e-mails from this list earlier today one that caught my attention was one that had to do with ovirt-node and hosted engine. It appeared as though it is possible to install hosted engine on a ovirt-node "host", and indeed, when I installed ovirt-node into a VirtualBox VM to poke around, there is a "hosted engine" option in the menu where you can enter a URL for an ISO/pxe source for OS installtion. I just want to clarify the following questions: 1.) Is it possible to install ovirt-node, and then install a hosted engine? 2.) If the answer to 1.) is "Yes", does it require some sort of NFS-enabled storage, or can you confgiure local storage on ovirt-node and install the engine to there? 3.) Is it possible to create NFS-enabled storage on ovirt-node? 4.) Can you install the hosted engine onto external NFS storage, then move/migrate it to local storage on ovirt-node? I am thinking of a "lab" situation where there is only one server, but gobs of RAM and storage. Running ovirt-node as the "host" would require fewer space resources (not that I would necessarily be hurting for space, but any extra I could squeeze out would not be unwelcome). Thanks! :-) -Alan

VM got paused state after migration

Today, I did a vm migration but it was unsuccessful. The vm got a paused state and it was unable to resume and it was impossible to switch off. Cause I killed it on the compute node, but it's remains as paused state. How can I switch to power-off state this machine? At this moment I can't power on this vm.....:( In this case are there any "friendly" solution for the future? If I do a restart for vdsmd, that will cause other "bad" things? Thanks in advance. This VM is not managed by the engine

I have a VM that was not started and is now showing as running. When I attempt to suspend or stop it in the ovirt-shell, I get the message: status: 400 reason: bad request detail: Cannot hibernate VM. This VM is not managed by the engine. Not sure how the VM was initially created on the ovirt manager. This VM is not needed - how can I 'shutdown' and remove this VM?
