Hi, I want to add one host to Ovirt Engine...but it's failed with the following error :- Host installation failed. Network error during communication with the host. VDSM respawning too quickly

Hi all, Following an upgrade from 3.3 to 3.4, I've been greeted with this message in /var/log/messages, on my CentOS 6.5 server. Jul 14 22:20:29 localhost respawn: slave '/usr/share/vdsm/vdsm --pidfile /var/run/vdsm/vdsmd.pid' died too quickly, respawning slave ...Repeat lots of times... Jul 14 22:20:59 localhost respawn: slave '/usr/share/vdsm/vdsm --pidfile /var/run/vdsm/vdsmd.pid' died too quickly, respawning slave Jul 14 22:21:00 localhost respawn: slave '/usr/share/vdsm/vdsm --pidfile /var/run/vdsm/vdsmd.pid' died too quickly for more than 30 seconds, master sleeping for 900 seconds Everything was working prior to the upgrade, and I made sure to follow the steps in the release notes. The best that I can determine, so far, is from this... admin@internal login failure

Hey Everyone, I am no longer able to log in with the internal admin account. I'm not sure if this is related to me doing updates, or re-attaching the engine to my ipa server. For both webpage login and the ovirt shell I get the following messaged in the enging.log file. 2014-07-11 11:01:16,685 WARN [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.LoginUserCommand] (ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-8) CanDoAction of action LoginUser failed. Reasons:USER_NOT_AUTHORIZED_TO_PERFORM_ACTION 2014-07-11 11:01:16,687 INFO [org.ovirt.engine.api.restapi.security.auth.LoginValidator] (ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-8) Login failure, user: admin domain: internal reason: [USER_NOT_AUTHORIZED_TO_PERFORM_ACTION] I tried to do a engine-cleanup/engine-setup but that didn't help. I don't want to lose all the data as this environment has been running for a while now. I then tried to remove the ipa domain and log in with the internal admin user without success. Followed by re-adding my domain and adding permissions to my ipa admin user which also did not work. If anyone knows how to correct this that would be very helpful. Thanks, -Darcy

Master storage domain no longer exists, how to recover?

I'm running a trial of RHEV 3.4 and decided to run through our DR plan. I have two storage domains. vm-store aws_storage_gateway vm-store is the domain which contains all local VM's which would be considered important. I must have put vm-store into maintenance mode before aws_storage_gateway which caused aws_storage_gateway to become the master domain. It also happens to be non-existant now after recovery, as the DR process is to re-create this SD with new disks as all the data is on aws anyways. Is there a method of changing the master storage domain when all domains are in maintenance mode? If I attempt to destroy it I get a UI error: Error while executing action: Cannot destroy the master Storage Domain from the Data Center without another active Storage Domain to take its place. -Either activate another Storage Domain in the Data Center, or remove the Data Center. -If you have problems with the master Data Domain, consider following the recovery process described in the documentation, or contact your system administrator. I tried to fake the storage domain by creating another one, copy in the file structure, and renaming the folder uuid and updating the meta file to match the missing SD without luck. The log collected from engine, vdsm and vm qemu. If I deactivate the disk and attach an install CD image, the vm start normally . Qemu-kvm-rhev packages and gluster

Just installed these packages on a test cluster and I'm having problems migrating VMs :-( Looking at the libvirt logs shows that there is a port conflict (49153) when migrating. Looks like libvirt is using glusterfs ports for migratiio and yes there is a BZ: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1009100 This problem isn't there when using the std el6 qemu-kvm packages but I need gluster AND migration so it seems I'm stuck until somebody 'fixes' the build in jenkens. I am running it on a HP DL380 with an external SAS chassi. Linux dist is Centos 6.5 and oVirt is 3.4 running all-in-one (for now until= we need to have a second host). Our company (www.vireone.com) deals with system architecture for many telco= and media operators and is now setting up a small own datacenter for our i= nternal tests as well as our IT infrastructure. We are in the process of installing Zentyal for the SMB purposes on a guest= and it would be great to have that guest also serving a fs path directory = with NFS + SMB (which is semi crippled on the host after oVirt installation= with version 3 et.c.). Hi. I noticed one important thing is that the service does not start ovirt-engine-dwhd. I have no idea why this happens. I tried to look for some logs for this service, but nothing. If you have any idea where to look or what to do, I'd be grateful. Grzegorz

I have two datacenter on the main server: - a local datacenter on the server - a gluster based datacenter by the four dekstop pc 2 weeks ago someone took my pc-s (for doing other things:) I am could not remove the "dead" gluster based datacenter from ovirt. - It always want to your own servers:) - The force option doesn't work in this case. - The gluster bricks are does not uninstallable. - the cluster not removable - Everything want to everything else:) I don't want to reinstall the whole ovirt because I have a lot of vm on the local datacenter. Problem with hosted engine setup on VLAN/bond combo

I am trying to install oVirt with the hosted engine. The physical system is CentOS 6.5 x86_64 (with all current updates). It is connected to a two-switch stack via bond0 (running LACP), which is a VLAN trunk, and the management interface is vlan51. This doesn't work with oVirt 3.4.2, but I see that both 3.4.3 and 3.5 have "support engine on bond" and "support engine on vlan" in the release notes, so I tried again with today's 3.4.3 RC. [ANN] oVirt 3.5.0 Second Alpha is now available for testing

The oVirt team is pleased to announce that the 3.5.0 Second Alpha is now available for testing. Feel free to join us testing it! You'll find all needed info for installing it on the release notes page, already available on the wiki [1]. A new oVirt Live iso is already available for testing[2] including all available updates from CentOS. An oVirt Guest Tools iso is now available too[3]. A new oVirt Node build will be available soon as well. Please note that mirrors will need a couple of days before being synchronized. If you want to be sure to use latest rpms and don't want to wait for the mirrors, you can edit /etc/yum.repos.d/ovirt-3.5.repo commenting the mirror line and removing the comment on baseurl line. Known Issues You can't add hosts to 3.5 clusters until a new VDSM build with 3.5 compatibility level will be released (All in One won't work).
