Hi, I tried to install oVirt on RHEL 6.4 with all in one package. I found single in summary: [ INFO ] Still waiting for VDSM host to become operational... [ ERROR ] Timed out while waiting for host to start. Please check the logs. [WARNING] Local storage domain not added because the VDSM host was not up. Please add it manually. [ INFO ] Restarting nfs services Went ahead restarted vsdm, login to admin portal. First Issue I observed that Storage is not accessible over NFS. Second issue is “Host local_host installation failed. Failed to configure management network on the host.” I’m attaching installation log. Let me know if there are any workaround / How to revert all changes so that I could try one – by – one installation of oVirt. Thanks, Vikrant Pawar

Hello all. I have cluster working in my company The hosts and storage are connect througt iSCIS connection. Everi think is working correctly. Now we need to put another storage. We configured iSCSI in all hosts and I can see when we on the storage managerment, and we want to put this new storage in the pool to make a HA cluter But I'm afread to disturb the function on my running enverioment. Hi, I know this may sounds few related to oVirt, but here is what happened here : We have two oVirt datacenters in 3.4.1 (and 3.4 compat. level), and amongst many other things, we have a ctdb cluster composed of two nodes, each of them being in a different datacenter. Some days ago, I raise the compat. level from 3.3 to 3.4, upgraded the hosts of datacenter#1 from centOS 6.4 to 6.5 (datacenter#2 was already 6.5), and our two (VM)ctdb nodes (centOS 6.5) were constantly failing into cluster partition. Almost 3 days of googling lead me to a point that seems know for some times, being : multicast on bridged interfaces is more or less supported, or randomly supported. See : http://lists.corosync.org/pipermail/discuss/2012-November/002208.html On the concerned hosts, I tried the advised workaround, and yes, that stabilized the situation. I understand this is not directly oVirt/RHEV related, but I really don't get why this ctdb cluster has worked for months, and stopped recently (I'll have to deeply dig into the release notes of the upgraded packages and try to find something useful). I post that here to : - ask if some of you are also running clusters amongst VMs (not particularly amongst datacenters - VM discussion amongst hosts may also be an issue) - leave a trace in case that may help debug some setups Regards, -- Nicolas Ecarnot

Gluster VMs Paused State then not resumable

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone's had any luck with running VMs on top of a gluster VM? I have a bug open here, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1058300 about VMs going into a paused state and not being able to resume. It's gone a little quiet, so I was wondering has anyone else had any luck with this style of setup? I have my gluster and virt on the same boxes, and currently 5 in the cluster (replica 2) A few cases this can be reproduced: - switch dies - cable unplug - gluster volume stop - gluster brick dies I recently tried a suggested volume option: gluster volume set vm-data network.ping-timeout 10 The qemu logs now report on virsh resume vmname: block I/O error in device 'drive-virtio-disk0': Transport endpoint is not connected (107) Thanks, Andrew

Can anyone explain me why there is such a huge difference between the "CENTOS QEMU Packages" and the "Jenkins RHEV qemu Packages". CENTOS QEMU = LIVE Snapshot failed (tested with qemu versions V8 and V10) * VDSErrorException: VDSGenericException: VDSErrorException: Failed to SnapshotVDS, error = Snapshot failed, code = 48 JENKINS QEMU = LIVE Snapshots ok (tested with qemu versions V8 and V10) * Command CreateAllSnapshotsFromVm, Parameters Type org.ovirt.engine.core.common.asynctasks.AsyncTaskParameters) returned status finished, result 'success'. Network traffic being mirrored

The VMs are running CentOS, and I've been monitoring the sessions with iptraf, and can see traffic from all other VMs on that network being received by all other VMs running on this host which have an interface on that same network. Is this something anyone has seen, or could anyone suggest anything I should be looking at to further diagnose? Hi Guys, It's bin a while :-). Luckily :-). I have a quick question. Is there a way to change the default .localdomain for the FQDN in ovirt? I would be handy if we just had to fill in the hostname of our vm (we are using 3.4, with the cloud-init feature) and he automatically adds our domain in stead of .localdomain. Kind regards, Koen

I'm currently doing the following: - Install CentOS 6.5 - Install qemu-kvm-rhev rpm's to resolve live snapshot issues on t= he CentOS supplied rpm's - Yum install vdsm ovirt-node-plugin-vdsm vdsm-reg o I have to remove noexec from /tmp or the config fails - I then add the node from the ovirt-engine gui After resolving some problems with group memberships and vdsm requiring sud= o access, all is working. Live snapshots and storage migration are OK (test= ed NFS and Gluster as well). I couldn't really find any docs on how to do this so I just wanted to confi= rm if what I am doing makes sense. I also don't have the text configuration interface that I would normally ge= t on the oVirt node iso. Can I install this and use it on a non node iso in= stall? Many thanks for any assistance. novnc error

Hello everyone, I'm running into an error getting novnc up and running with ovirt, and I'm hoping someone can help. My system is a CentOS minimal x86_64 install running ovirt fine. I have created VMs and I'm able to configure the console options. When I attempt to connect to them, however, I get a Server disconnected (code: 1006) error. I've searched online for a solution, but everything seems to point to simply running the engine-setup configuration utility and installing the ca.crt. I have tried both of these things, but I keep getting the same message, in Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox. Disabled iptables and selinux. Connected directly to VM with VNC Checked ovirt-websocket-proxy, and it is running - haven't touched config file - SSL=true Installed ca.crt - multiple times Reinstalled ovirt - clean first, the reinstall. Reinstalled ca.crt Nothing has helped so far. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a straight-forward setup using engine-setup; accepting the default answer most of the time. GlusterFS being one of the non-defaults. I appreciate your suggestions! GB
