[Users] Datacenter is down

Hello, after some shutdowns and reboots of my ovirt cluster now the data center is down: - gluster volumes are all UP - all storage (Data/ISO) is inactive - Datacenter is down. I have tried to click on all "activate" buttons I have found but nothing happens. Only one time I got: - failed to activate storage domain - "failed to reconstruct master domain for data center" What can I do now?? Thanks, Mario

[Users] ovirt nagios plugin email flood on engine upgrade

Hi René, a question - when we upgrade the engine, we move the service to down. at that point, nagios is sending lots of emails on each failing monitored resource due to inability to connect to the API. Is thee a way to report this "once" per the root cause for all monitored resources? Thanks, Itamar

Hi Guys Any know issue why we are not able to start VM due to permission issue on disk image file .. as per docs ownership should be vdsm:kvm byt not sure why its showing below used - both ovirt-node-iso-3.0.1-1.0.1.vdsm.el6 & ovirt-node-iso-3.0.1-1.0.2.vdsm.el6 same issue [ using NFS Domain ] VM n0001vdap is down. [Users] Crashed controller node

I rebuilt the controller node for my oVirt environment and restored the DB. However, all running VMs now show up with a question mark and all storage domains and data centers show red. However, all VMs are running. How could I go about doing a complete fresh install of the controller and then connect it back up with the existing environment. I have found bits and pieces of the answer around the web, but nothing that clearly addresses this situation. While building a virtual machine we ran into an error "Not enough MAC addresses left in MAC Address Pool." Reasons:VAR__TYPE__INTERFACE,VAR__ACTI ON__ADD,MAC_POOL_NOT_ENOUGH_MAC_ADDRESSES 2013-10-26 14:47:16,591 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.api.restapi.resource.AbstractBackendResource] (ajp--127.0 .0.1-8702-12) Operation Failed: [Not enough MAC addresses left in MAC Address Pool.] This led me to look at the engine config where I see these MacPoolRanges: 00:1A:4A:97:5E:00-00:1A:4A:97:5E:FF version: general MaxMacsCountInPool: 100000 version: general The MacPoolRange would seem to be the limiting factor here, cutting us off at 256 MAC addresses, which happens to be the number of virtual machine we currently have. I assume that updating the MacPoolRange and restarting the engine would resolve this issue. Has anybody experienced this issue? Why would the pool size have 256 and the Max entry be set to 100000, that seems like a large difference.

earlier in the year we did a survey for feature requests / improvements / etc. since a lot of things were added, and priorities usually change, I'd like to ask again for "what do you need the most from oVirt / what are your pain points" next? below[1] I've listed my understanding of what already went in from previous survey requests (to various degrees of coverage). Anyone on list familiar with it? http://www.docker.io/ "Docker is an open-source project to easily create lightweight, portable, self-sufficient containers from any application. The same container that a developer builds and tests on a laptop can run at scale, in production, on VMs, bare metal, OpenStack clusters, public clouds and more." [Users] Cant remove image -> Illegal Disk

Hi, There were a few posts earlier about this but none seemed to end in a resolution. When a VM is destroyed the disks don't get deleted by oVirt and are left in an "illegal" state. Manual intervention is required to delete the image and remove it from the database. This has only happened recently, but I'm not sure what broke it. I assume it's the engine which handles the deletion of the disks. Hi, I've imported a Windows VM from an ESXi to an export domain using virt-v2v. It didn't return me any error wen it finished (i think), but when attached the export domain I get the following advertising and the vm doesn't appear in the list to be imported: Failed to read VM '[Empty Name]' OVF, it may be corrupted Could you give me some hint to fix this, or what it could be the problem? Hi guys, We had a power failure over the weekend, and when powering everything back on, one of the hosts gives the following error when trying to re-activate it. "Host ovirt02.blabla.co.za running without virtualization hardware acceleration" I've checked in the machine's bios and the VT options are still enabled, I've reset the PC's bios and then confirmed all the CPU features were enabled as a precaution and yet I still get the same error. Could this be an ovirt/vdsm issue or is it more likely a hardware issue? Hello, One engine and two hosts all with updated f19 (despite on their names) and ovirt updates-testing repo enabled. For example oVirt could check heal info. Hi I am trying to install oVirt Node (ovirt-node-iso-3.0.1-1.0.2.vdsm.fc19.iso) on DELL R805 server, but every time install fails with Exception: RunTimeError('Failed to partition/format'). I also tried ovirt-node-iso-3.0.1-1.0.2.vdsm.el6.iso version and the same error occures. I tried different partition sizes and I always make sure that partitions dont exceed the total disk space. I browsed log fails and could not find anything relevant. I am really out of ideas... Any advise? Thanks Edgars
