[Users] Really need serious help with spice (its just not working !!) - attached ~/.spicec/spicec.log

Hi. [Users] spice issues preventing me using Ovirt (not been able to test it yet) - Is it possible to use VNC ?

Hi For the last few weeks I have been tried to test Ovirt - but am failing due to spice not working... I have created a bugzilla ticket about my spice issues https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=805552 At the minute spice just doesn't work for me - I have tried from multiple desktops - (1 FC16 1 opensuse 12.1) - both have the same spice versions (spice-xpi, etc). All I want to do really is see Ovirt working, can I use VNC or is that a WIP? If I select VNC in Ovirt how do I connect (the spice icon is greyed out) Or (preferred) can anyone help me with spice? Regards

Anyone was able to get a successful installation of ovirt-engine on RHELS 6.2? Hi Team, I was able to install ovirt-engine and spice-apxi on fc16. When i am trying to connect to the admin portal using the firefox 3.5 which is available on the fc by default, It is able to connect to portal but shows only blank page. Any idea on this issue? Please help. Regards, Arumon

[Users] FQDN issue with ovirt engine-setup

Hi Team, I am facing some issue with the fqdn resolution while running the engin-setup. I donot have a DNS setup, so i am using the hosts file for fqds resolution. Even though the fqdn is added to the /etc/hosts file the engine-setup is not resolving it. ( this is because of the normal behaviour of the nslookup commnd) So, i used the option to continue the setup without resolving the fqdn. But after completing the setup i can see the war and ear files failing to deploy on jboss with java error of name resolution. Please help me to resolve the issue. Regards, Arumon

Hello, going through http://www.ovirt.org/wiki/CLI to see some syntax hints. I don't see a way to get parameter of an object. For example if I want to see the size of a vmpool, how can I do it? And is it possible to store values as variables and use then them for further commands? I can run something like this but it seems quite unoptimezed... output redirection to see how many vms are up in a pool: [oVirt shell (connected)]# list vms --kwargs "vmpool-id=eba78b0e-6512-11e1-80c4-5254008e81ee;status-state=up" > /tmp/testfile [oVirt shell (connected)]# shell grep id /tmp/testfile | wc -l 2 shell command to see the size of the pool itself, so can I add more vms to it if the previous : [oVirt shell (connected)]# show vmpool --name mypool id : eba78b0e-6512-11e1-80c4-5254008e81ee name : mypool cluster-id : 99408929-82cf-4dc7-a532-9d998063fa95 size : 2 I would like only the size value and use it then... Hi, I need to create a localfs to store VMiso images. That is my engine and storage domain are both on the same machine. I tried the following but was in error. My question is what "host-id" I need to use in this case? I used the ovirt-node's host-id but apparently was wrong. [Users] Vm is in a "Image locked" status

Hi, Mentioned it before on the Node list but am trying it here as well. Somehow by stopping and starting stuff, hosts, vm's etc. I ended up with a VM that is in an "Image locked" state. The host (VDSM) the engine reports it's running on is active the storage doesn't have a disk for this vm, which it had when I installed it. This all happened when a migrate went wrong. My question is how to destroy this vm. It's just a test so I don't mind killing it, question is how. Thnx, Michel

[Users] Unable to import template across DC

Hi, I have 2 DC's, nfs based and localfs based. On the nfs dc: 1) I created a nfs export domain, and exported the VM template ( precreated) to my nfs export domain 2) I detached the export domain from nfs dc On the localfs dc: 1) I attached the export domain to the localfs dc 2) When i select export-domain on the Storage tab, under Details -> template-import, i see the template, but i don't see any option of import there. Basically cannot import the template. 3) When i go to Template tab, the template is seen, but under Cluster column, it still shows the nfs-cluster to which it belongs, not to the localfs cluster. When i try to edit the template, it does not allow me to select the DC, its disabled/greyed and stays as nfs-dc. So even if the template is seen under localfs dc, i cannot use it to create a VM 4) When i try to create a new server / desktop VM, only when i select nfsdc, i get the option of selecting my template, if i select localfs dc, my template is not seen in the drop down box So unable to use the template to create a new VM in the destination dc.
