Problems with glance.ovirt.org over IPV6.

Hi, there hope someone has experienced this situation and can help me further on his matter. Our current ovirt engine is trying to download images from http://glance.ovirt.org:9292 and the connection work normally whoever for some reason it also tries to download over ipv6 and our network is all based on IPV4 so the error I get is the bellow. Connecting to glance.ovirt.org (glance.ovirt.org)|2620:52:3:1:5054:ff:fe32:c1d9|:9292... failed: Network is unreachable I had tried the same from outside our network on a public place that works on IPV6 and I get the same error, as my understanding from the error message I am for some reason now able to reach the destination via IPV6, whoever my goal is to use IPV4 only and I would like to know if there is any way I can disable import or any checks done over ipv6 from glance.ovirt.org ? Hi just just encountered the same error in my lap, complete new NFS server new ovirt node installation and first deployment of Engine [ INFO ] TASK [ovirt.hosted_engine_setup : Activate storage domain] [ ERROR ] Error: Fault reason is "Operation Failed". Fault detail is "[]". HTTP response code is 400. [ ERROR ] fatal: [localhost]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Fault reason is \"Operation Failed\". Fault detail is \"[]\". HTTP response code is 400."} My logs says the same thing - Michael H - Nerdalertdk(a)gmail.com

Ah... Never thought I can switch it to 'Auto'. Actually it makes sense - we can't be sure if all nodes in cluster are the same - like my case. Now all VMs are in Auto mode. Host-passthrough CPU and migration

Hello Community,Dev, does anyone know why only "Manual Migration" allows passing through the CPU from the Host to the VM ? In many environments, the Clusters are having the same CPU model in order to avoid any issues. Have you observed any issues with that ? Best Regards,Strahil Nikolov

LDAP Users constatly can't login on Ovirt Portal

Fedora 30 guest - kernel issue

Hi everybody, yesterday I updated some of my fedora 30 ovirt guest, and after reboot I wasn't able to control consoles via spice: I could see desktop, but mouse and keyboard were not working (nor were key command in remote-viewer menu, like ctrl-alt-F2 and so on). Let me specify it's not strictly an ovirt issue, and the problem goes away booting with old kernel (kernel-5.2.18-200.fc30.x86_64): the problem arises only with fedora kernel version kernel-5.3.6-200.fc30.x86_64. So: anyone has already faced this, before I dive into logfiles? TIA, Giulio

Reimport OVA Windows 2019 VM

Hi, I previously exported a vm OVA that now I'm trying to reimport. As the image I get the error "Not a bootable disk" https://ibb.co/J5MGrbx During importation from dropdown menu (virtIO drivers) I selected nothing. How can I solve?

multiple vm got stack after gluster server hardware failure

Hello We have a cluster with 9 ovirt host and a storage cluster with 3 storage servers, we run ovirt 4.3.6.6-1. Storage is setup is replica 3 with arbiter. There is another unmanaged gluster volume which is replica 3 based on local disks of ovirt hosts and the engine and a few small pfsense vm reside on it. Yesterday we experienced a hardware failure on one raid controler on one of the storage servers, so the server stopped working. On that particular server on it's local disks was a nfs storage domain used as ISO. After the storage server failure multiple machines got stuck and in not responding state, others kept working but we could not manage them from ovirt. many machines had iso mounted so it may have to do with this. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1337073 But machines with ISO mounted were not the only ones affected. Allmost every host on ovirt clusterd switched from non responding to ok status, many machines were on unknown status even if they did not have mounted iso or even resided in any storage domain of the gluster cluster. I.E. pfsense machines residing on local drives as the engine. These machines could not be Powered off from inside the engine. In any case I could not put the iso domain on maintenance because isos were still mounted on varius virtual machines. I'm wondering what caused the allmost total failure, was it the nfs domain that could not be mounted ? And of course how could I prevent such a situation. I have built a new host and my setup is a single hyperconverged node.. I followed the directions to create a new logical network. I see that the engine has marked the network as being down. If I've understood clearly, your goal is to have two physical network interfaces connected to one logical network in ovirt-engine. If this is the case, you can use bonding/teaming physical interfaces into one and then connect that aggregation to the ovirt-engine logical network. Moreover, as Jeremy stated, you can use that aggregated physical interfaces to transfer VLANs, taking advantages on redundancy/resilience and configuration flexibility. I'm looking for guidelines/ideas for moving/migrating/Hosted-engine from the initial install with local storage, to the "Final" server. Initial it was a "Test" to see if this will work or not, but this has now become the production, where the initial host named "ovirt" that is hosting the hosted-engine on local storage is "just" doing that. My hosted-engine is called "ovirtmgr" and I created a new host to run Virtual machines called "Hermod" - getting better in the naming thing, right? If you seek performance, then set tuned-adm profile in the VM to 'throughput-performance' and scheduler either 'noop' or 'none' (depends if multi queue is enabled). Usually, if yhou crete the gluster cluster via cockpit and then install the hosted engine via cockpit again - all options on your gluster volumes are the most optimal you need. Hey! I am trying a static IP deployment. But the HE deployment fails during the VM preparation step and throws the following error - [ INFO ] TASK [ovirt.hosted_engine_setup : Parse libvirt default network configuration] [ ERROR ] fatal: [localhost]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "network default not found"} I tried restarting the network service, but the error is still persisting. Hey guys! I got a wierd issue today doing 'yum upgrade' I'm hoping you can help me with. The transaction failed because of systemd packages. What is your I/O scheduler and tuned-adm profile in the VM. RedHat based VMs use deadline which prioritizes reads before writes -> you can use 'noop' or 'none'. For profile, you can use high-performance. I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to improve file/directory operations in HCI replica 3 (no arbtr) configuration with SSDs and 10Gbe storage network. I am running stock optimize for virt store volume settings currently and am wondering what if any improvements I can make for VM write speed and more specifically anything I can tune to increase performance of small file operations such as copying, untar, npm installs etc. For some context, I'm seeing ~50MB/s write speeds inner VM with: dd if=/dev/zero of=./test bs=512k count=2048 oflag=direct -- I am not sure how this compares to other HCI setups, I feel like it should be higher with SSD backed storage. For example my gluster network IP is 10.10.10.1/24 and the /etc/hosts entry is: 10.10.10.1 gluster1.localdomain gluster1 Then I did 'gluster volume replace-brick ovirt1:/gluster_bricks/data/data gluster1:/gluster_bricks/data/data commit' So you use a hostname that is resolved either by DNS or /etc/hosts to your desired IP. In my case, the change was done after initial deployment. The reset-brick and replace-brick affects only one brick and notifies the gluster cluster that a new hostname:/brick_path is being used. Of course, you need a hostname that resolves to the IP that is on the storage network. WARNING: Ensure that no heals are pending as the commands are wiping the brick and data there is lost. Hi, I've deployed an oVirt HC starting with latest oVirt Node 4.3.6; this is my simple network plan (FQDNs only resolves the front-end addresses): front-end back-end engine.ovirt 192.168.110.10 node1.ovirt 192.168.110.11 192.168.210.11 node2.ovirt 192.168.110.12 192.168.210.12 node3.ovirt 192.168.110.13 192.168.210.13 at the end I followed the RHHI-V 1.6 Deployment Guide where, at chapter 9 [1], it suggests to create a logical network for Gluster traffic. Check why the sanlock.service reports no pid. Also check the logs of the broker and agent located at /var/log/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha You might have to increase the verbosity of the broker and agent. Did you "Consider manual intervention" such as "stopping" or "migrating Vms" which are running on that host? If you are trying to put host to maintenance, it will migrate all the VMs somewhere else, thus... you might have problem with migrations (try to migrate them to other destination host) or power them off. Quack, We do as a community provide help on the MLs and reply to JIRA tickets but there is no customer support as it is not a product but a community project. Historically, probably for some other purpose, support@ was created, but noone remembers why. Anyway, the alias redirected to postmaster so it was not very useful. There was also a ML which could not receive mails because of the alias but probably got noticed in the new ML UI when we migrated. Recently more people subscribed and posted requests using the UI. After discussing with the infra team, and to avoid confusion and unreplied requests on this channel, we decided to remove it. I thus unsubscribed people from the list so that they would notice it and then purged the list and alias. Regards. \_o<

Host "install failed"

Hi Sir/Madaam, I'm trying to search for hours now but still no luck I can already access the oVirt engine web port via IP address. I'm running via Virtualbox machine. Configured data center, cluster. Then after adding new host. Error occur "Install failed". Tried to check the engine log. It says "EVENT ID: VDS INSTALL_FAILED(505), Host ovirt host installation failed. Command returned failure code 1 during SSH session" My IP address and password is exact. And edited the /etc/host IP_ADDRESS localhost.localdomain My hostname is default, BTW Any help what's wrong with the configuration.
