Host cannot access the Storage Domain(s) <UNKNOWN> attached to the Data Center

Dear All; I have oVirt Engine Version: 3.5.6.2-1.el6 with three nodesrunning standard Centos 6.7 64bit. The main data storage storage is on OpenFiler iScsi volume. After rebooting the three nodes; the main data storage domain is down and all the three hosts are marked as "Non Operational" When I try to activate any host; I get the below error message:- "Host XXXXX cannot access the Storage Domain(s) <UNKNOWN> attached to the Data Center Default. Setting Host state to Non-Operational." I have attached the engine and vdsm log. Best Regards Fawzy Ibrahim

Stuck tasks in web UI

I'm running oVirt 3.6.2 on CentOS 7.2, all up to date, with a hosted engine. I tried to clone a VM and that failed (not sure why yet), but the first problem is that there are a couple of stuck tasks in the web UI from my attempts. The Events tab shows the tasks failed, and I ran "vdsClient -s 0 getAllTasksStatuses" on the SPM node, and it shows no tasks. How do I clear the tasks from the web UI? -- Chris Adams <cma(a)cmadams.net>

3.6.2 Install Problem

Hello Ovirt Users, I just recently rebuilt my OVIRT test boxes and for some reason I am running into an when the install script, appears, to attempt to configure the first host networking and then dies. The specific error "Failed to execute stage 'Environment customization': <Fault 1: "<type 'exceptions.TypeError'>:cannot marshal None unless allow_none is enabled">" Any suggestions/work arounds would be appreciated. Problem installing oVirt 3.6.3-rc with GlusterFS over InfiniBand

The storage s= erver is GlusterFS 3.7.6, all the servers are in the same network and are a= lso connected through InfiniBand DDR. Network is OK, RDMA is working, IPoIB has been configured, it is possible t= o manually mount GlusterFS volumes on each vmhost. firewalld and SELinux ar= e disabled. Ovirtmgmt network is on ethernet. The problem is that, after installing the hosted engine, I can connect to o= Virt admin panel but: - Datacenter is marked as down - The only host is NOT recognized as an SPM - In the storage tab there is no storage domain for the hosted engine (I on= ly see a detached ISO domain and oVirt repo) - when I try to create a storage domain, an error shows up (it's an "Uncaug= ht exception") - when I try to import a storage domain, an error shows up (it's about data= center down and SPM not available) - also, in Virtual Machines tab there are no VMs (neither the hosted engine= , which is obviously up and reported as up by command "hosted-engine --vm-s= tatus") So basically it is not possible to do anything. oVirt presentations with reveal.js

I recently gave an oVirt talk at FOSDEM and decided to use reveal.js[1] to create my slides[2]. Reveal.js is a really slick framework for creating HTML5 based presentations that look really clean and modern. You write your slides in html markup and a javascript library provides everything else (it's a long list of features so see the demo presentation for details[3]). I was pretty happy with the oVirt themed slides I created so decided to package it up into a reusable template. To try it out simply: 1. git clone https://github.com/aglitke/reveal.js.git ovirt-template 2. cd ovirt-template 3. git checkout -b ovirt-template 4. firefox index.html The main changes I have made is to add a floating oVirt logo to the upper-right corner of the slides and a footer. Both can display while presenting and when the slides are printed. I am not a graphic designer or a web developer so I am keen to accept contributions from people with more experience in this area. Set default console in oVirt 3.6 (NoVNC VS. Native)

Hi, with oVirt 3.5 (and prior) it was possible to set the default console like this: # engine-config -s ClientModeVncDefault=NoVnc Unfortunately, starting with oVirt 3.6 this doesn't seem to work anymore. The root cause seems to be that I am no longer allowed to use the previous Video Type for my VMs ("Other OS"), oVirt forces me to choose "QXL" for several VMs now. And hence I am presented with both SPICE and VNC as console options (although I don't want to use SPICE at all). What's the new way to set NoVNC as default console in that case? Is there still a way to set VNC as default for "QXL"? A related question: How to set the default console for SPICE to "SPICE HTML5"? Regards - Frank
