firewalld and NetworkManager support

Hi all, I've just installed a new el7 datacenter, and many questions came up with. I was surprised to see that all vdsm generated ifcfg files were NM_CONTROLLED=no, and NetworkManager was disabled in systemd. The same for firewalld, disabled for regular iptables files. Will that default el7/fedora features be adpated to ovirt in a next release?

[SLA] can't start vm due to "host did not satisfy internal filter Memory."

Hi, I haven't got any trouble with ovirt for a long time but know I hit some wall: Situation: local storage DC with a single vm in it. ovirt-engine version 3.3.3 (yeah I know, old..) error i get: vm does not boot anymore. excerpt from engine.log: 2015-02-09 13:25:06,926 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.api.restapi.resource.AbstractBackendResource] (ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-14) Operation Failed: [Cannot run VM. There are no available running Hosts with sufficient memor y in VM's Cluster ., Cannot run VM. There is no host that satisfies current scheduling constraints. See bellow for details:, The host $REDACTED did not satisfy internal filter Memory.] and before this: 2015-02-09 13:25:06,914 INFO [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.scheduling.SchedulingManager] (ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-14) [41867e4b] Candidate host $REDACTED (efbc6306-d072-4601-a171-7dd79f169687) was filtered out by VAR __FILTERTYPE__INTERNAL filter Memory previously this vm could be started, the configuration was not altered. configuration: cluster: memory overcommitment: 200% host: ovirt reports 32068 MB physical memory vm was defined with max 32768 MB RAM and 16384 MB RAM guaranteed imho I should be able to start this vm. however it refused to start until I lowered the max ram to around 28 GB. I could provide full logs in private, if needed. why is it called vdsm?

mixing tagged and untagged vlans on a same interface

Hi all, On a standalone libvirt/KVM, I've been used to mix tagged and untagged vlans on the same interface, the untagged vlan dedicated to the physical interface em1 and the other tagged ones to VLAN em1.X. I've just installed a new datacenter with an untagged ovirtmgmt and then realized that I've been prevented from attaching additional vlan to the same inetrface. Is there a reason for that, knowing that nothing should technically be wrong?

Issues adding a custom fencing agent

Heho, i currently try to get an intelmodular server working with fencing, following: http://lists.ovirt.org/pipermail/devel/2014-February/006525.html and http://www.ovirt.org/Custom_Fencing BaseInfo: Scientific Linux 6.6 (engine/hosts) Ovirt 3.5 I added an agent with: engine-config -s CustomVdsFenceType="intelmodular" /etc/init.d/ovirt-engine restart The issue is, that the added agent always results in: 2015-02-05 19:31:08,963 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.FenceExecutor] (ajp--127.0.0.1-8702-1) Failed to run Power Management command on Host , no running proxy Host was found. and: Test Failed, There is no other host in the data center that can be used to test the power management settings. Picking any other agent, results in the execution of the binary on one of the cluster hosts. (which, of course fails). Replacing one of theses default-fences with a bash-script echoing $@ to a file prints nothing, additional programs (id, env) however do print sth. to the given file. Any ideas on how to continue this, to ideally get fence_intelmodular working? With best Regards, Tobias

Problem on the manager

I have a problem on my oVirt managers, the problem is that the directory / var/lib/pgsql/data fills. Initially thinking that my file system /var/log 2Gb was too small now have increased to 4Gb and is refilled. How can I prevent this from happening, it may be due to the fact that I have implemented the backup manage with the script of backup.sh oVirt. Regards Massimo

Problem adding new host

Hello everybody, I have added a new host to my oVirt 3.5.0 and it has been added but when the installation finish the host remain in "Not operational state". The error in the engine.log file is that "CPU_TYPE_INCOMPATIBLE_WITH_CLUSTER". The host is a little old. I'm attaching part of the "lshw" host information and the engine.log files. I know that this host is not able to virtualize 64 bits VMs which it is possible to do it by the other four hosts. I would like to confirm if the problem is what I'm saying.
