Client separation on bridge level

Hello everyone, is there a way to seperate the traffic between VMs on the same bridge on one oVirt-node with built-in tools from ovirt? We have VMs using the same bridge which should never be able to talk to each other. We are currently using ebtables for that, but its not working very good anymore now that we upgraded to 4.3 with firewalld. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, Hendrik

Ansible playbook timeout

Version 4.2.8.2-1.0.9.el7 Per the info near the bottom of /usr/share/ovirt-engine/services/ovirt-engine/ovirt-engine.conf I should be able to create this file, /etc/ovirt-engine/engine.conf.d/99-ansible-playbook-timeout.conf and place in the file these contents, ANSIBLE_PLAYBOOK_EXEC_DEFAULT_TIMEOUT=150 and extend the playbook timeout. It doesn't work, still times out after 30 minutes. Any suggested workarounds?

strange error when editing multiple disks

I'm noticing this on 4.3.8 and I don't have understood exactly the raising condition, if UI based or what At first I thought it was the bootable flag, but it is not, apparently vm1 powered on with two disks I select the VM then Disks subtab select line of second disk --> edit --> OK All goes well Then, remaining in the same Disks subtab window I select the line of the first disk --> Edit --> OK And now I get the error window: " Error while executing action: vm1: - Cannot edit Virtual Disk. At least one of the VMs is not down. " ? Then I go and select another powered on VM, vm2, with only one disk, the one with bootable flag, and I'm able to edit it successfully. Then I come back and select vm1 and Disks subtab, select again the first line of the boot disk --> Edit --> OK and I'm able to edit with success..... but eg if I want to modify both alias and description fields I have to do one at a time, otherwise if in the same window I try to modify both and then press OK I still get the error message above. Can anyone verify/test? I was able to reproduce on bot oVirt 4.3.8 and RHV 4.3.8 Gianluca

Since the upgrade, for some reason I get this message when checking for upgrade on one host: Failed to check for available updates on host kvm01 with message 'Failed to run check-update of host 'kvm01.digitaldatatechs.com'. Error: fatal: [kvm01.digitaldatatechs.com] FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "Failed to connect to the host via ssh: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password).", "unreachable": true} I can ssh into the server from the ovirt server and re-copied the ssh keys and authorized keys but the problem persists. I am still unable to manually migrate but auto load balance seems to be working again. I am attaching the engine log for your review. Thank you so much for your help. Image File Owner change Situation. (root:root)

Hello @All, This has happened to us for the first time and only on One VM. I believe it happened with the switch from Fuse to "LibgfApi" in Ovirt. I was using LibgfApiSupported=True on 4.2.8 . I upgraded to 4.3.8 and did NOT restart all of my VMs (30+) but only some VMs, no problem. Eventually I noticed that LibgfApiSupported=False and reset it to True. The VM was Running WindowsServer2016 and we did a Cold-Reboot (not VM Restart). It did not come back online due to "Invalid Volume" which was eventually due to the IMAGEs (Boot and Data) being user:group=root but not the meta,lease or directory. Nor any other VM have/had this problem but they were (if at all) completely stopped and restarted. I am looking for another VM that has not yet been restarted to test this theory. I thought this would be interesting for others looking into this problem. (I will ask my Colleague next week what he means with Cold-Reboot vs Warm-reboot....) Stay Healthy. Quota usage and exception trigger 2. User assigned as quota consumer First issue: I have defined quota for storage ( qstorage ), setting all following items: a. Defining quota for storage, with threshold and grace b. Setting quota mode to enforced in datacenter c. Added Users as consumers of the Quota d. Updated quota from Default to qstorage for Templates and related images e. Updated quota from Default to qstorage from all existing VMs and the related Disks Problem: * the percentage of the Storage Consumption is jumping up and down, between 3% and 97%, and at certain point goes back to Unlimited * when checking under Storage tab inside quota name, the value “Used MB out of Total MB” is correct, however, when attempting to exceed the threshold, I am not getting a warning, even though I am consumer of a quota Second issue: User is added to qstorage quota as consumer. Still, when he tries to launch the VMs, Waring is displayed: Cannot add VM. The user is not a consumer of the Quota assigned to the resource. Have I missed something – could it be a permission issue, not a consumer issue. All my users are utilizing Administration Portal with limited set of permissions. They all have same Role assigned, but only few of them are having the problem I described as Second problem. Quota usage and exception trigger 2. User assigned as quota consumer First issue: I have defined quota for storage ( qstorage ), setting all following items: * Defining quota for storage, with threshold and grace * Setting quota mode to enforced in datacenter * Added Users as consumers of the Quota * Updated quota from Default to qstorage for Templates and related images * Updated quota from Default to qstorage from all existing VMs and the related Disks Problem: * the percentage of the Storage Consumption is jumping up and down, between 3% and 97%, and at certain point goes back to Unlimited * when checking under Storage tab inside quota name, the value “Used MB out of Total MB” is correct, however, when attempting to exceed the threshold, I am not getting a warning, even though I am consumer of a quota Second issue: User is added to qstorage quota as consumer. Still, when he tries to launch the VMs, Waring is displayed: Cannot add VM. The user is not a consumer of the Quota assigned to the resource. Have I missed something – could it be a permission issue, not a consumer issue. All my users are utilizing Administration Portal with limited set of permissions. They all have same Role assigned, but only few of them are having the problem I described as Second problem.
