[ANN] oVirt 3.4.4 Release is now available

The oVirt development team is pleased to announce the general availability of oVirt 3.4.4 as of Sep 23th 2014. This release solidifies oVirt as a leading KVM management application and open source alternative to VMware vSphere. oVirt is available now for Fedora 19 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 (or similar). This release of oVirt includes numerous bug fixes. See the release notes [1] for a list of the new features and bugs fixed. The existing repository ovirt-3.4 has been updated for delivering this release without the need of enabling any other repository, however since we introduced package signing you need an additional step in order to get the public keys installed on your system if you're upgrading from an older release. Please refer to release notes [1] for Installation / Upgrade instructions. Please note that mirrors will need a couple of days before being synchronized. If you want to be sure to use latest rpms and don't want to wait for the mirrors, you can edit /etc/yum.repos.d/ovirt-3.4.repo commenting the mirror line and removing the comment on baseurl line. A new oVirt Live ISO will be available too[2]. The oVirt team is pleased to announce that the 3.5.0 Third Release Candidate is now available for testing as of Sep 24th 2014. The release candidate is available now for Fedora 19, Fedora 20 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5 (or similar) and allow you to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 as node and run Hosted Engine. This release of oVirt includes numerous bug fixes. See the release notes [1] for a list of the new features and bugs fixed. Registration Now Open for the oVirt Workshop, Oct. 16!

As oVirt strives to become the best open source and comprehensive data center virtualization management suite, and its community rapidly evolves and grows, one of the ways its vibrant community connects is through our Global Workshops. The events are conducted solely to introduce new users and veteran oVirt admins to new features and new techniques found in oVirt, as well as provide a forum for our users to connect directly with the development team behind oVirt. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2014 oVirt Workshop[1]! The 2014 oVirt workshop will be co-located with the KVM Forum[2] in Düsseldorf, Germany[3]on October 16, 2014. This workshop is designed to encourage collaboration in our community, lay the foundation for best practices in oVirt use, convey end-user stories, and help answer questions about the project from both a developer and user's perspective. Attendees can register free-of-charge[4] to the Workshop alone, or, if attending LinuxCon EU[5], CloudOpen Europe[6], Embedded Linux Conference[7], or KVM Forum[8], can also add this free Workshop to their itineraries when registering. [ANN] oVirt 3.5 Third Test Day - Wed Sep 17th

Hi all, On Wed Sep 17th (instead of Sep 16th) we'll have oVirt 3.5.0 third test day. On this day all relevant engineers will be online ready to support any issues you find during install / operating this new release. Just make sure you have 1 host or more to test drive the new release. If you're curious to see how it works, this is your chance. Thanks again for everyone who will join us tomorrow! Location #ovirt irc channel Please communicate here to allow others to see any issues What In this test day you have a license to kill ;) Follow the documentation to setup your environment, and test drive the new features. Please remember we expect to see some issues, and anything you come up with will save you when you'll install final release Remember to try daily tasks you'd usually do in the engine, to see there are no regressions. Write down the configuration you used (HW, console, etc) in the report etherpad[1].
