How to enable vmdisk property ?

Ovirt-Engine Notification via Python SDK

Hi, I want to register my python script with ovirt to get notification.(e.g .Host went down or came up.) But not got any information on same it look to me that polling is the only one solution. I am sending this mail to confirm my understanding (ovirt-engine not send notification to python script or it not have any hook to extend functionality) *Why I Want Extend Ovirt-engine functionanlity?* I want to auto start VM after host come up. And for this If ound a bug on Ovirt .. and it is very old and still no solution. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1325468 Bug 1325468 I am just searching for workaround. ovirt ENGINE stuck in paused state following new partition

hi guys Bit of a pickle. I expanded my engine managers disk with a new partition and formatted to ext4, however I seem to have been hit by a superblock issue on the new ext4 partition. The engine is now stuck in paused state. I rebooted, powered-off the engine vm but it wont come out of PAUSED state. I cannot obviously access the console, with it giving me paused messages. VNC console is down also. Any suggestions on restoring the engine vm? Logs are not showing anything. Storage is up, vdsm seems happy, broker seems happy, nothing really jumping out. Strange network performance on VirtIIO VM NIC

Hello all. I have a peculiar problem here which perhaps others may have had or know about and can advise. I have Virtual Machine with 2 VirtIO NICs. This VM serves around 1Gbps of traffic with thousands of clients connecting to it. When I do a packet loss test to the IP pinned to NIC1 it varies from 3% to 10% of packet loss. When I run the same test on NIC2 the packet loss is consistently 0%. >From what I gather I may have something to do with possible lack of Multi Queu VirtIO where NIC1 is managed by a single CPU which might be hitting 100% and causing this packet loss. Looking at this reference ( https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/MQ_virtio_net) I see one way to test it is start the VM with 4 queues (for example), but checking on the qemu-kvm process I don't see option present. Any way I can force it from the Engine ? This other reference ( https://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Multiqueue#Enable_MQ_feature) points to the same direction about starting the VM with queues=N Also trying to increase the TX ring buffer within the guest with ethtool -g eth0 is not possible. Oh, by the way, the Load on the VM is significantly high despite the CPU usage isn't above 50% - 60% in average. Thanks Fernando

Changing gateway ping address

Hi all, I need to change the gateway ping address, the one used by hosted engine setup. Is ok to edit /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/hosted-engine.conf on each node, update the gateway param with the new ip address and restart the agent&broker on each node? With a blind test seems ok, but need to understand if is the right procedure. Thanks, Matteo
